You’ve done it again. Every time I think you can’t top what you’ve already done, you prove me wrong. Again, it’s your vision of what and old, discarded, tired piece of furniture can become is simply amazing. You are the “woodworking wizard!”
Incredible! I thought this one would have you tearing at your hair! I see the scraper saved you 2000 years of sanding, though! Well done! ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦
I love the birds singing in the background, and Hugo and friends dropping by. It elevates your videos, making them more relatable. And the music is lovely, too. Thanks.
As always, beautiful work. I prefer when you talk through the project, letting us know what & why you are doing what you're doing, some of us appreciate the education we receive.
Your videos absolutely make my day. Your attention to each piece is like caring for an old friend who’s down on their luck. You are a beautiful soul, Jay. …and please, don’t ever replace the talk in your videos with silence; I’ve seen so many recent channels and makeovers that are silent except for really strange background music. Your instruction is that gentle encouragement to those of us who feel intimidated to begin our projects. The soothing music and cats are great additions!!
Wow. It’s beautiful. I love that you work on every single piece of the furniture. Down to polishing hinges and staining the back of the piece. Your work truly transforms the piece. Great job.
The feet you put on this cabinet added a nice visual appeal. Your workmanship shows the quality and care you put into every piece. Thank you for bringing these videos. And especially those visits from Hugo.
Your videos are"must see tv" for all current and future furniture restorers. As always, your attention to detail, shines through. I appreciate the fact that you detail parts your projects that are NOT seen, equally as the parts that are seen. No one else does this. Well done Sir.
Your final product photos are artwork themselves. Putting the piece in the grass and sunlight brings out all the rich warmth of the piece. I actually didn't like it in your workshop but the photos changed my mind. Bravo.
Your restoration of this piece revealed the quality of the workmanship and materials not seen in modern 'everyday' furniture. Love how you 'let it be' with the addition of cheeky ankles...🥰👍
Again excellent workmanship. Wonderful. There is a saying that I love very much, "Simplicity is the pinnacle of excellence". But at 16:12 there are three staples at the top of the back. You should have gotten them.
In my head you are a dentist who lives with his 6 cats and flips furniture and runs half marathons in his spare time. Your movements are very precise and your workshop is so clean and well organised, major dentist vibes. And I feel like maybe you're a Wallace, or maybe a Gareth. We don't let the facts ruin a good story right?! Anyway, I like your videos, keep up the good work! 😊
Amen. Good question. I've asked that many times. Like if they know the potential of the item thrown. He does such beautiful amazing work. I love watching his videos.
I am constantly amazed how you take pieces ready for the dump (or literally out of the dump 😝) and resort them back to quality, usable and beautiful furniture. Totally amazing! Award winning! 🏆🏆🏆
Beautiful! You've inspired me to strip away the layers of paint I inflicted upon my late grandfather's solid mahogany dresser. I want to restore it back to its former glory. I referenced your videos for all the tools, materials, and techniques.❤
Don't be disappointed if it has veneer. It may be solid, but even some top quality pieces of previous eras had veneer just done so well you miss it. It helped prevent warping in some pieces. I omly say that so you don't sand through if you decide to strip it back
I hadn’t seen this one before. It was a wonderful transformation, and the video makes me appreciate even more the ones you do when you visit with us and don’t have the music playing!😊
You had me worried for a while. Thought you were leaving it the dull look. But I should have known better. You gave it the lovely shine of art deco. Well done once again.
Never thought of a woodworker using a soldering iron, but it seemed to do work like a charm on the dents. Another gorgeous outcome. (BTW, I'm not a woodworker, so I enjoy hearing your explanatory comments as work on a piece progresses.)
I like this style without a lot of talking. It was similar to a pop quiz to see if I knew what you were doing & why before the caption showed. It must be harder to edit & do voice overs to get these videos out. The grain to this piece is gorgeous. A striking finished project. Thank you once more.
You spoil me a little with your thoroughness and attention to detail. When I watch other restorers (which is rare) of furniture and they don’t take care of the bottom of the piece or the inside, I think say to myself “hey, they missed it”. Then I realize it’s not you. The bedside table is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.😊 M
The beauty of the original solid oak hiding under veneer is STUNNING. Love the addition of the new legs, giving this classic piece just the right amount of "modernity." Yes, I too wonder if anyone who has dumped a poor old piece of furniture on the side of the road or donated it to a charity shop sees your videos and gets inspired.... Bravo, as usual!
Wow, what a wonderful transformation, I love it. It’s now a gorgeous piece of furniture. When I saw it in the shape you found it, I wondered what you might do with it. I would have just passed it by. And even though you didn’t talk much in this video, you answered my question about what type of wood it was made of. Thanks for your videos, they are always great to watch. And bonus kitty too.
I love watching your magic...it is so relaxing...and am sure it is so satisfying for you to give a piece of wood a new life...Thank you with blessings.
I love watching your videos. You do beautiful work. I think you should call this project "Small and Mighty!" Because it is small and mighty pretty wood work. 😂❤
Amazing talent the first tool sounded like nail's on a chalkboard I was releaved when you got your other tool the carbide scraper it always amazes me your apron is spotless I'm such a messy painter I even had acrylic paint on. My cheek I forgot the paint brush had paint I get it everywhere great craftsmanship see you in your next video 😊
Cleaning, disambling, striping, repairing, sanding, dying, several smoooooth layers of shellac. Perfect. Please, avoid those eternal NEW products that never will do much than the origial recipe. Thanks for sharing.
I like that you stamp your work with your well designed logo.
It amazes me how much beauty is buried under dirt and neglect. Another breathtaking piece.
You’ve done it again. Every time I think you can’t top what you’ve already done, you prove me wrong. Again, it’s your vision of what and old, discarded, tired piece of furniture can become is simply amazing. You are the “woodworking wizard!”
Wow, thank you Kent💛 that is very kind and generous of you 😊
Another reason why I love this video is because of jays creativity in his art and his ability to make great furniture.
I don’t know how you keep coming up with new ways to make things look spectacular and special and original…but you do. This was beautiful Jay 😻
Thank you so much 😊
Incredible! I thought this one would have you tearing at your hair! I see the scraper saved you 2000 years of sanding, though! Well done! ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦
The "sassy little legs " took this drawer stand from the 40's to the 50's Jay. Love the handles too ❤ I hope it finds a good home 🏡. ❤
I love the birds singing in the background, and Hugo and friends dropping by. It elevates your videos, making them more relatable. And the music is lovely, too. Thanks.
Gotta say I really admire how thorough you are. Every part gets attention, and this somehow touches my poor old cold hard heart.
😂😂😂I’m sure it’s not that cold. You seem nice 😉 thank you 💛
As always, beautiful work. I prefer when you talk through the project, letting us know what & why you are doing what you're doing, some of us appreciate the education we receive.
Thanks. I usually do
Love the dark stain with the touch of bling!
It was a truly sad little cabinet before.😟
WELL DONE!
Lovely.simplicity is often best
A simple yet elegant piece. By simple i just mean that it's "only" a bedside table. Lovely 🖤
Thank you! 😊
I am glad you are doing this full time now. I really appreciate your attention to detail. Excellent job at usual!
Glad you enjoy it!

Thank you 😊
Beautiful! I love natural wood pieces! I love how the wood grains show off the different shades and character of each species.
The feet you put on this cabinet added a nice visual appeal. Your workmanship shows the quality and care you put into every piece. Thank you for bringing these videos. And especially those visits from Hugo.
I totally agree - love the feet and the quality of workmanship. You're a master craftsman! (plus the visits from your feline buddies don't hurt...)
Your videos are"must see tv" for all current and future furniture restorers. As always, your attention to detail, shines through. I appreciate the fact that you detail parts your projects that are NOT seen, equally as the parts that are seen. No one else does this. Well done Sir.
Wow, thank you!
The loving way you apply the wax at the end of each piece, is a perfect finale to the precision and care you give to everything you do.
Such pretty woodgrain
What a terrific redo. The piece at the end was beautiful. Just my opinion, but I like it better when you narrate.
Thanks 😊
Beautiful! And you didn't even have to spend "2000 years" sanding it!!:)
Your choices for this cabinet were perfect.
Your final product photos are artwork themselves. Putting the piece in the grass and sunlight brings out all the rich warmth of the piece. I actually didn't like it in your workshop but the photos changed my mind. Bravo.
Wow, thank you!

Sounds pretty accurate 😂
I think it could be fun to completely change the look of ugly stuff. It makes me wonder why it was made ugly to begin with. Love what you do!
I didn’t think I was going to like the dark stain but the final result is remarkable! ❤
I love the grain of the wood! Great work as usual.
Never I have ever watched your video and thought, that was ok. My first thought when it’s done is wow, he did it again! ❤ Truly beautiful work!
Thank you! 😊
Beautifully done. Such an amazingly rich colour.
You sure know how to pick a challenge. This turned out beautiful ❤
Beautiful work, though it broke my heart a little to see MCM-style replacement legs on an Art Deco piece.
Beautiful ❤️😍
Good call on not re veneering it looked beautiful without it.
Hope you got home safely xx 😊
Thank you! 😊I did but it was sketchy to pull over😂
Beautiful restoration job!
After my day of hearing talking all the time, it was a pleasure to watch this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Went from tacky, to elevated and incredibly beautiful!!! Amazing work, as usual!
I always wonder if the person that put these out, ever sees what you’ve done with them.
Amen. Good question. I've asked that many times. Like if they know the potential of the item thrown. He does such beautiful amazing work. I love watching his videos.
Or do they put them out on purpose, then check everyday to see if they’ve shown up on his channel yet. 😂
Curious - what are you doing with the soldering gun?
@@shirleypedersen7406- Heating the water up to swell the wood to remove the dent.
I wonder the same thing
Lovely 😍 absolutely ❤ wonderful restoration
Hello mister beautifully restored professionally restored well done
You need to change the channel name to The Wood and Cat Whisperer! 🤣Another beautiful restoration, as always!
Very nice. I like how you treat the back n inside of the piece too. 😊😊

Award winning! 🏆🏆🏆
Thanks mate !
Bring it! You can make this look fantastic!
Excellent job of taking a tired old bedside stand and making it beautiful again!! Well done!

Awesome 🤩 good luck

The book-matched grain on the door looked like a Rorschach inkblot.......thank you for rescuing this piece. It’s sooo pretty!
Thank you 😊
Wow. What a transformation. I watched Mayfields last video and told him y’all need to do another blind challenge.
Thanks 😊 we’ve been thinking about it
Wood looks beautiful! Love watching you work.
This turned out so great WHO knew that disaster could be so beautiful
Another masterpiece! The color you chose for this piece is so beautiful - especially after that final coat of wax. So very rich! 👏🏻👏🏻
Beautifully done, Jay. I really love to hear you talk (and add your bits of humor). Next time, talk to us more!
Thank you! Will do!
I hadn’t seen this one before. It was a wonderful transformation, and the video makes me appreciate even more the ones you do when you visit with us and don’t have the music playing!😊
I like the red stain, great work! Wish you were in the US, I would like one of your pieces 😊
Thank you very much!
You are very talented. Didn't think it was in very good shape, now look at it. Beautiful.
Thank you so much!
I wish i found you sooner - have watched a lot of furniture restoring, very theraputic. You do beautiful work.
You had me worried for a while. Thought you were leaving it the dull look. But I should have known better. You gave it the lovely shine of art deco. Well done once again.
😊 thank you
Beautiful job!
The leg choice is brilliant! Love this piece as well as your restoration vision.

Hi Hugo! Beautiful work~
What a cute table. So nicely done. You saved and restored another piece of art! I love the legs.
You spoil me a little with your thoroughness and attention to detail. When I watch other restorers (which is rare) of furniture and they don’t take care of the bottom of the piece or the inside, I think say to myself “hey, they missed it”. Then I realize it’s not you. M
so soothing with the music and bird singing 💖
What can I say? I love to watch you work because you're so, so good.
Ahhhh we all love Hugo sooo much!!! 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕🐾🐾🐾🐾🦁🦁🦁🦁
Who said you shouldn’t talk in your videos to enjoy them? I love your humor and relaxing voice!!❤
Thanks. It’s just a one off. I didn’t feel like talking lol
That previous repair was so "RIG".
As always, your restoration is fantastic!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you
Gotta say, the glassy sheen of the art decco is rather appealing. I'd have liked to seen that restored.
Oh! She came out so well! Wax is a wonderful thing! And I love that a little bit of gilding went back on! ✌️♥️
The beauty of the original solid oak hiding under veneer is STUNNING. Love the addition of the new legs, giving this classic piece just the right amount of "modernity." Hello Jay and Hugo and Mando kitty. I am working my way through all your videos. Back to watching to see how the bedside table looks when finished.
The grain is fabulous and that stain is beautiful. Loving the legs too. Great job Jay.
