Been using hand tools and power tools my whole life..I’m 73.
What I like so much about this video is your constant attention to safety.
Great video..thank you!
Very good basic teaching
Put the glove on the other hand!
Love this! Such great info
I've been wearing a glove on my left hand
Thank you for making all these great info and instructional videos. As a newbie to the hobby I’m reading a watching as much as I can.
Why do you where a glove on one hand? And why not wear it on the holding hand instead of the cutting hand?
Thank YOU for watching! The reason for the glove is to prevent cuts from an accidental slip of the knife.
Since that wouldn't happen to the hand holding the knife, I only use it on the hand most in danger 😆
Of course, a glove is only a back up, since good technique is most important. But especially when I was first starting, I went through quite a few bandaids.
Do you have an easy design to get a scout of 11yrs old started doing the first three beginner cuts only??
Generally, you wear the glove on the hand that holds the wood.
My kids didn't know what to think watching me practice these cuts with a (small) kitchen knife and a carrot.
I cant manage to get my knife deep into the wood and it is getting frustrating I have pine wood if that helps
Thanks very much for the safety information in the cutting technique explanations!! As an idiot I've hurt myself a lot. But I'm good at first aid?
You're wearing the glove on the wrong hand.
