  • **in the video I said most parts are from DeLonghi. I am not convinced this is true anymore.**
    If you need parts for this machine, check out this website:
    www.ersatzteil...
    This website (above) sells just about everything you would possibly need to repair your Lumero.
    Here is another website that may help, though seems more expensive:
    fixpart.de/de/...
    update 27.09.2023: the small connector that often breaks on these machines that attaches to the top of the Thermoblock is not available on either of the above mentioned websites anymore.
    I plan on making these with food grade, temperature resistant teflon - let me know if interested or if you find a place where one can buy them. I'll write once prototypes have been tested and available for purchase.
    Need more assistance? Just send me a comment and I will try my best to help...it is such a great machine in minimalist design and espresso quality; it is worth fixing!

    Hey Nathan, thanks for the video. It helps a lot the fix the machine. 😎👌🏼
    I‘m from germany and found the connector in one of our german online-shops. 👍🏼
    But now there are one question open. Does the connector has any seal ring to the thermoblock in it?
    If I put the connector on the thermoblock, there is no sealing. It fits not tighten and wobble a little bit.
    So I think there might be the weak point, where the water can find his new route?! What do you think?
    If someone has a damaged on/off button. It‘s possible to open the complete switch.
    In my case the spring in it was broken and some rust. So I cleaned everything and put in a new spring out of a pen.
    Now it works nearly like new. 😅
    Regards, Dennis

      @@denniseffenberger3515 dear dennis, firstly so glad you found it helpful! Regarding the Thermoblock, yes the connector definitely needs 2 or 3 rubber rings, which unfortunately don't come with the new connector. You have to get them from the broken one or order new ones. Each side of that connector gets 2 or 3 rings. Every other connector in the machine only needs one ring per opening.

      @@nathans1978 thanks for your fast response. I forget the two big rings, which are in the broken connecter. With those everything fits and is working perfect. My machine has on all connecters 2 rings.

    Hey Nathan, thank you for your great video. I got the problem that water is coming out of the milk frother as soon as I turn on the machine. Even if I turn the knob to the dot (=coffee brewing mode) it leaks troughout the steamer. I've cleaned the machine internally with an espresso decalcifier several times, which is why I assume the problem coming from the steam valve. Do you know how to access it? I've dissambled the machine with your video but the steam valve is the one right behind the turning knob right? Could it be the o rings in the valve which need replacement? Do you know where I can find them or even a new steam valve? Thank you so much.

    Hi Nathan. Thank you so much for the video. My Lumero started to fool around after an espresso with a slightly too fine grinding grade. The pressure went high and no cofee came out. After this, it began to show a very peculiar error code from which I could not find anything whether in the manual nor on the internet: only the led on the side steam-knob flashed red. After some off/on cycles, it worked again, but started leaking. I opened it on the top and saw that the white water connector on top of the Thermoblock is leaking between the black plate and the connector itself, but I don't know how can I change the connector. Do you have any advise on how to do it?
    Thanks!

    • @nathans1978
      @nathans1978  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, just follow the disassembly in the video to the point where you have easy access to the Thermoblock. Unscrew the 6 screws to access the thermal block and replace the piece that is broken. Make sure you save the rubber o-rings from the old broken piece...there are 2 or 3 in each end.

      Thank you so much@@nathans1978! I managed to disassemble the Thermoblock cover (the 6 screws) and gained access to the connecting pipe, which at first glance did not seem damaged or broken or cracked. I ordered a new one at Fixpart, but until it arrives, I tried to fix it putting some epoxy resin in the center part with the smaller diameter, but did not solve anything: it keeps leaking while making coffee.
      Additionally, I assume that all the steam that kept building up due to the leakage on top of the Thermoblock (you could hear it every time) has been the cause of some rusty screws now, as well as maybe also some electrical contacts on the side steam knob, too: when I turn the knob to the "steam build position" (one position to the left), the led keeps lit white and does not turn red. I tried to dismantle the knob mechanics, too, but I was not able because of the big middle rib that goes front to rear.

    • @nathans1978
      @nathans1978  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@jlem73the Thermoblock teflon piece and the steam mechanism are the only parts that seam to commonly break. The steam knob can be disassembled by prying off the outer black cap. In there you will find screws which allow you to remove the whole steam mechanism

    • @nathans1978
      @nathans1978  7 месяцев назад

      I've never heard of that happening with the Lumero. Did the problem happen perhaps due to false reassembly or did you never disassemble the machine? My only other thought is a faulty flow meter. First check that all wires are connected correctly under the top lid. Or could the problem be the connection hole where the water tank enters the machine? Sorry I don't know how to diagnose this. Good luck and let us know if you solve it. ...also try a descaling cycle and see if it responds.
