Craig, I was really hopeful when I saw this video posted. I have loved 22 Designs for decades, all the way back to the Superloop from Rainey. I have evangelized about the Vice and Axl to everyone that will listen. However, last week I broke away and spent my first two days on my new bindings from Pierre. During the 19/20 ski season I had a very bad ankle injury skiing on my Vices; it ended my season and was still with me last season to the point that I was very tentative all season; making lots of bad turns. Since skiing tight trees is my favorite, tentative had to be fixed and every ski shop said it was time to go AT to get releasability. Boo!!! It was your reviews of Pierre's bindings that convinced me to try them. So far, I haven't been able to get the new bindings to ski anything like the Vices even with both sets of springs cranked all the way down, but I have a set of Red Line springs on order so that I can hopefully become friends with Pierre's bindings. I'm way too old to miss any more ski seasons due to injury, so I was really hoping this video would introduce a new 22 Designs binding with DIN setting releasability. At 7:45 of your video, it is obvious what Chris thinks of Pierre's bindings, so please twist his arm until he commits to putting out a releasable NTN binding. Please!

Bummer 'bout your injury. Unfortunately I won't claim ANY telemark binding has a reliable release. IME, Rottefella's Freeride has the best track record of safety release when you want it. The Meidjo has adjustments to influence releaseability, but no guarantee. 22D doesn't claim any of their bindings are releaseable, but reports from the field indicate they can. The big question is, as ever, not can they, but WILL they. That depends upon how lucky you are. I've never released from a Meidjo or Lynx, nor have I needed to (so far, knock on wood), but I have released from a Freeride. Between the two M is more likely to release since the mechanics (adjustable tension on the side wings of the claw) are there to allow for it.

I’ve Telemark on many different boots, my current model is TX Comp’s Race (gold) NTN. I’m 6’6’” and generate a fair bit of power, l have ISIA in Telemark and Alpine, so need a stiff/supportive boot. TX Pro’s are too soft. Crispi’s give you toe crush in the bellowes and Scott Voodoos, Let’s leave it there!!
My gripe is the Comps are not Tech binding compatible so l can’t use any of the best binding on the market. This really gets my goat.
