Without using tape wont that just crack again when more shifting occurs?

Yes possibly. This cracking mostly was from when we had to jack up the house so I wasn't too worried about it shifting again. But yes I should have mentioned using tape for more stubborn spots that keep cracking and spots like around a door way that gets a lot of vibration and movement 👍 Also could use the powder setting compound that is a bit harder and stronger
