A small advice for filmaker (photographer). Badminton's bag (smaller than tennis's bag) are very light and are perfect size to put lights stand inside , umbrellas . and you can find a lot of them used on facebook market for less than 30 $ . If you don't want to get noticed also it's perfect (people wont think at first there is expensive gear inside). For me it's also perfect since i do a lot of photoshooting around my city with my bike and can't find any more perfect than this one. (there are reinforcements on the shoulder straps on most of them, so no pain when you carry on your back/shoulders) I bought a big one camera bag/gear 100$ (specially designed for light stand etc) this is only to carry by hands or in a car (mostly useless for me and less convenient). ONe day I won a badminton's tournament (badminton bag as prize) , and I was like, damn I should use this as lightstand/umbrellas bag when im cycling. and done it's perfect and its the best cheap trick i can advice. Or also you have th zhiyun m3 (you should advice to people to buy counter-weight that you put on the arm) so you can easily balance or open the screen. Zhiyun m3 with that + a handle on the 1/4 inch hole its so perfect for travel with this gimbal.
Hot tip for accessory pouches. If you have Daiso (Japanese dollar store) store in your city, check out their clear mesh pencil cases. Couple of bucks each and in many different sizes. Super handy.
Found these in Hong-Kong, their square pouch can perfecly fit a DJI Avata, the zips are not so great, i broke 1 out of the 6 different pouches I got, but for the price it's still great.
That phone monitor setup is ingenious, but on Sony camera the monitor+ app is crazy, you can use your phone/tablet as a monitor wired and wireless, with all the extra feature that a full fat monitor would have + change camera settings with an actual good interface and launch record
Awesome accessories. Can you make a dedicated video about your camera bags and how you store your gimbal for quick access? I'm trying to find a carry solution that is light weight and minimal, while having my camera and gimbal setup for instant use. I wonder how you carry your gear when shooting.
Any rolltop bag. When in a rush, drop the gimbal in the top and roll it shut. Or put the gimbal in the water bottle/monopod side pocket and use the side clip to secure it
Bro, you mentioned shopping in Williamsburg and I was like "Oh he's visited Brooklyn before". Then you mentioned your metro card and I was like "Na he lives here" lmao. Nice to see another NYC filmmaker on the platform. Just subscribed!
Thanks for this great video! You just need usb-c cable between usbc-c port on a7 IV and usb-c one on the Xperia 1 V... HDMI cable or capture card aren't necessary for the external monitor app to work.
they need to make a retractable cable that can retract and coil up or roll up when you pull on it. I used to have a retractable dial up cable years ago. it was very easy to carry and always the right length as it's variable.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted I just used the PGYTECH OneMo Backpack for a week long adventure at Burning Man and I’m quite impressed with it. You should check it out. It took a beating and it still looks great back home in Brooklyn. Kept all my gear secure and accessible.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Tell me about it. I'm looking for something light for every day use, but still functional. What do you think about the Nomatic bags? I'm looking into the Manfrotto bags (or even Brevite Jumper bags as an alternative). Been following you since 2017, a big fan. :)

great vid, love seeing the small bits that make a big difference! and always appreciate the clear & legible presentation style of your content 👌 lets hope the M3 chipset from Apple can take advantage of the 2000mb r/w 🤞
What's the HDMI to usb dongle you use to connect camera to smartphone? Where did you download the smartphone app? I searched in the android app store and could only find sony imaging edge... Thanks
I believe the iPhone 15 Pro Max, that was revealed yesterday, and goes on pre-sale this week, FINALLY has a USB port WITH the proper high speed USB-C. Unfortunately, the lower end iPhone 15 models will have the USB-C port (due to European Union laws), but NOT the high speed. 😅
Still curious: how to enable SLOG3 recording when using the external monitor app in combination with a Sony A7IV? I tried both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to HDMI cables, but it looks like it automatically disables picture profiles and reverts to the standard profile for monitoring. On your screen it actually looks like you're in PP1.
I think you just need to run HDMI out and then it’s the same as plugging in any other monitor. Use an HDMI - USB-C dongle to connect to the Xperia phone.
@@BrandonLiUnscripted what setting are you using on camera when connecting to the external monitor app, as it looks like you're not using USB streaming mode?

Loved seeing this, Brandon. Those SmallRig batteries are something I'm going to order pronto. Thanks for sharing what you're using at the moment!

Those crucial SSD's are actually great value!! Snatching them whenever I need a new SSD.
Will probably be even more useful with the new usb-c iPhone

Didn't know about batteries with USB C ports. I'm going to check them out.
I wonder if these USB C batteries will run the camera indefinitely if left plugged in. Hopefully without audio interference too.

You can use either USB or HDMI, they just have different capabilities and limitations.

@@Bladeclaw00100 Retractable cables tend to be bulky when retracted, that's the problem. And they tend to snag.
Battery FTW! More and more batteries need this USB option.
Having an usbc port for batteries is a total game changer.

Id be curious as to a controlled test for the smallrig batteries. I hear a lot of mixed things regarding performance
So far after 2 months they seem identical in performance to the Sony brand batteries. Haven’t had any issues or noticed shorter life
Can you use the small rig batteries as a dummy brick to dtap?

Well you can’t film without a lens, so I’d say a lens is more important
What’s different between Sony app with the “monitor +”?
I made a whole video about this: ruclips.net/video/IBxFZVLMkYI/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I own the samyang v aF 24 mm and 75mm my Most loved lenses
Ya that type c battery is clutch
Wow a battery with usb port? genius!
Word
There is a delay when using a mobile phone as a monitor
I wish the Sony cameras had a detachable LCD screen. So, it can be attached to the camera or detached so you can carry it or mount it.
That's a hope, Sony's XQZ-IV01 is a perfect size, but it doesn't support the camera
