I was hoping you could recommend some shops to get these mods done at. Where did you get your tinting done? Did you do the lift yourself? If not, where would you suggest taking my truck? Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. I live in Hall county near sardis rd.
Hey man, cool that we are close by. This is actually Tidwell Park though lol. I actually have a video on my truck of it getting tinted on my channel. Top Line Tint in Dawsonville is who I last used and will use from now on. The owner, Johnathan Sanchez, is awesome. You can find him on FB, Message him, and he can get you a quote. 10/10 would recommend. Tell him I sent you. I did do my own suspension mods. I trust southern offroad specialists in Alpharetta to balance and rotate my wheels, they seem to say busy and we all know good work is the best form of advertisement so I would say give them a call. For engine mods I used Ben Diesel in Dawsonville, he does really good work too! Then for exhaust work I use K&C Muffler in Dawsonville. Anything else you might need feel free to hmu on IG as it's a bit easier to get a hold of me on there @marcos_1296 🤙 good luck man
Thanks. It's an oem toyota one. The skid plate was available on the 2006 toyota tundra with the xsp package. You can find them online for about $120. If you google 2006 toyota sequoia xsp skid plate it should come up under the "shopping" tab
That Limited Tundra Thanks! I followed you on IG and asked you on there as well lol. Definitely getting that skid plate, was it just bolt on or did you have to do any modifications to make it fit?
@@xCkillaxC oh I honestly don't remember if you did haha. Direct bold on. You just have to remove your tow hooks and sandwich the brackets for the skid plate in between.
Sheldon M definitely underpowered but I'm pretty sure that's what makes the 4.7 so reliable. If you turn overdrive off you'll be fine. I just towed what had to be somewhere around 4k pounds with it which is the most I've pulled with this truck and had no issues. Just needs an electrical trailer brake controller for sure.
Sheldon M yeap it's actually been exactly 3 years since I bought mine today. Been towing with it at least 2x a week since then. I would buy it again if I could
That Limited Tundra I sold my F150, and currently driving my dads old sequoia. Same gen as this with the 4.7. Great motor, just rolled over 200k miles. Main reason I’m switching from ford to Toyota is the reliability
@@DbrownVision ohhhhh I gotcha. I know who you are now haha I bumped into you on 400. Wait until I get back in town in January. I'll make a post that should help you make your decision
It's been a while, but what kind of mpgs do you get? I would like to know daily driving and while towing. I want to jump up to 285/75r16 but am worried about the towing power and mpgs haha
Man I no longer check MPGs it's probably best I not know lol. Last time I checked was like 2 years ago and I avged 12.5 mpg while not towing. I've pulled roughly 7k pounds a time or two with this setup now and haven't had a power issue. My truck wasn't fast but it got the job done.
Thanks man I appreciate it. Lol my dad has taken it a few times and it's never come back in worse shape. He has an 02 access cab tundra so it's pretty similar. He let me borrow his a couple of years back so I can only return the favor.

Yeah you'd clear them but only after running. Go with the 18x9s with ver little negative offset if you don't want to trim. You'll have to watch tire size though otherwise you'll run the risk of rubbing on the frame and there's nothing you'll be able to do about that
I had 17s originally. I swap to 17s for long roadtrips. I honestly don't feel much of a difference on the road. Only time I feel a difference between the 17s and 20s is the leverage that the wider 20s have on steering when clearing curbs, or going over uneven terrain at job sites. Other than that I don't really notice the ride quality. I would never go back to stock wheels for a longterm thing.
I did click on my channel and check it out. You should be with 2.5 but will more than likely scrub some. I scrub but still back up trailers and shit so very much so driveable
Nah mine doesn't have traction control. I believe that's in the 05-06 models but even then you shouldn't have any lights due to larger wheels and tires
BeastMode95 yeah with a 33 and an 8 wide you will be hitting the frame and obviously no trimming you can do there. I'd look into bilstein 5100s and set them at at least 2" of lift, 2.5" would be better but then you would want to look into supporting mods like uca and a wheel with around -19 offset. That way you have trim the pinch weld like I did and you won't hit the frame. My trim job isn't pretty lol but I'll try to get that for ya one of these days
Love the truck, this is was I was looking for (20x12). I also have a 3inch up front but I have 2inch block in rear. Not too many first gen tundra have that tire wheel setup. Question before I plug the trigger on 20x12's, are your 305/55/20r equivalent to a 33/12.50/20 tire? Seen options to those tires but not sure on the dimensions of those tires (taller/wider) then a 33/12.50
Thomas Garcia glad you like it! Yeah not many but there are more that are starting to run them. These 305/55s are 33.2x12. I'd recommend running a true 33x12.5
Thanks! I've been trying to put some stuff out there since these trucks are so underrated. I don't know that I'm going to do anything else this year but for next year I would like to do subs under rear seat, longtube headers with all new exhaust, and then 12 hole 250 cc injectors. The injectors and sound system I'll do myself but the exhaust I'll probably have done professionally so it can all be welded. Might do spiked lugnuts this year but not 100% sure. Anything you'd like to see done? I have an led switchback video on my channel, if you haven't seen it check it out
That Limited Tundra yeah headers and a decent y pipe would be nice, I’m a little hesitant to touch my manifolds as they are a bit rusty. I’d love to see what you do for a sound system. I’ve currently got an alpine 6.5” double din, wired through the stock amp. I also added fresh jbl front speakers. The one thing I want to add is one or two 8” sub(s) in the drivers rear storage compartment. Are you thinking of adding a sub?
@@Jay351 if I do headers it's going to be true duals with cats, resonators, and an x-pipe. I currently have a y-pipe and really like it but I'd like to change it up a bit. I have a kenwood double din I just installed and I'm still using the factory amp. I need to rebuild my front speakers (I have a rebuild kit sitting at home I just haven't gotten to it). But yeah under the rear seat on the driver's side is where I am planning on installing 2 8" subs also
Yep, understand. I did mine and you got to be real careful because there’s not much tolerance/coverage on the flange of the lights. My bumper bang up some so not much risk.
Oh yeah. Common thing with these. Most trucks in general that have any decent amount of torque. They're not heavy over the rear tires so less downforce. However the heavier 305/55s have reduced that issue a lot compared to the skinny 265s that came stock with the truck
That Limited Tundra dope, thanks my man! Just got mine last month and it’s pretty raw so just trying to get some solid recommendations to get it going. Suspension is worn out, squeaks when driving slow, needs some good AT’s, headlights you name it haha. Definitely a work in progress so if you have any performance mod recommendations I’m all ears.
@@leonbanks2538 no problem man. Join first gen tundras on fb. You'll learn a lot. A lot of the common "performance mods" that you can do to the domestics don't work on these like you can't tune them, the stock air box isn't restrictive at all so cold air intakes don't do much unless it's a snorkel set up, and trd super chargers are extremely hard to find. Only a couple of turbo setups out there but the rods in these don't like boost lol. Pretty much just upgrade your fuel injectors to 250cc 12 hole injectors, and longtubes. Check out dirtydeedsindustries.com and try to contact them. Ask for Keith karty, he'll get you set up
That Limited Tundra Yikes! Ok any issues with the LBJ after running the spacers ? what you recommend getting 2.5 or 3” strut spacer ? About to order mine this weekend from toytech. You have the tundra front lean issue ?
@@edgargonzalez2633 yeah I mean it's expected when you preload the stock suspension to it's max. However when I say it suffers i dont mean to where it feels like you are riding around in a wooden wagon lol but after driving the truck stock for about a year and a half I could definitely tell the difference. 0 issues out of the oem ball joints but I had them replaced under recall like 15k miles before I threw this set up on it. 2.5" would look good and you should be able to keep the stock uca on at that height. I'd still recommend getting some aftermarket ones but the stock ones would be able to get the job done. No lean to either side. At 2.5 you might be able to get that height with bilstien 5100s on top notch with your stock coil springs. Idk how they would ride with that much preload though. I installed a set of 5100 on the 2nd notch on my dads 02 tundra and it rides really nice. It feels very well planted up front.

Beautiful truck. I have an 03 and use it for work but it is beat up still love it.
Thanks!
I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra Limited Double cab. If i get a 2.5 inch leveling kit with 20 inch rims will I have any rubbing? And if not will the wheels look too small? Just started getting into modding the truck, don't know much, so any advice will help!(gotta say your truck is looking awesome!)
She’s a beauty! Who did the suspension installation for you? I also live in the Atlanta area and considering a 2-3 inch lift on my ‘03 Tundra.
I did it myself with the help of 2 buddies.
Sweet ride got a crewmax wrking on it go get it where I want it . Want another truck but smaller was thinking of getting a Tacoma but think I'll get another tundra like urs for the space want this gen u made this tundra look awesome!!
A crewmax and double would be the best of both worlds. You'd own my two dream trucks haha. Thanks man I'm glad you like it as much as I do!
Beautiful Tundra!
Thank you sir!
I have an 05 limited in blue, 3" lift, custom grill, DC wheels, flowmaster exhaust, hardcover , got got all the options. best thing about my truck, only 38k miles, I just put drilled and slotted rotors along with new drums, what difference in stopping. I have it up for sale, looking to by a smaller taco. really digging those rims. Nice overall truck.
Thanks man I appreciate it! You should do a walk around video of your truck before you sell it. Crazy how little miles you have lol I wish mine had that many miles
Is it still for see if so email me at jwilla86@hotmail.com
That's a clean truck I've got one too. I mounted my rear pod lights with the reverse lights flush in to the bumper.
Thanks man I appreciate it. I couldn't convince myself to cut my bumper lol
@Sedrick Vaughn so many factors that determine price man. Stock I avged 13.5 mpg. Last time I check I was getting 12.5 mpg with the 33s.
This Truck is sick! I have a black 05 and you have given me a lot of ideas. What is the lift on it and do you recommend it?
That year is really nice, I wished I had gotten this year model. Plus you have the 6.5 bed? I have a 2018 5.5 bed. Still looks brand new, keep it clean and tough. Looks good thanks great video. Nice Truck! Original paint?
Thank you sir. Front bumper has been repainted as original owner hit a deer lol
Great looking truck. I've got an 04 access cab with 56 k miles bone stock. Thanks for all the great ideas
Thanks I appreciate it!
Any way you do a short walk through video of how you installed the pods lights in you front bumper. Mainly howd you mount and wire them
05-06 tundra way to go, i wish toyota would drop the tacoma and build the 05 stile tundra rather, i love my 2005 tundra crew cab
Thanks man. Lol we can only dream.
My 06 limited is almost identical! Minus the bug shield. I have a black toolbox and a black ranch hand headache rack.
Nice man. Make a vid of it
Haha I’m not very good at that stuff. I have a picture but I don’t even know how to post it.
@@RickJames-xy6io lol I by no means consider myself "good". I just enjoy sharing what knowledge I have on these trucks with others. I record vertically for crying out loud 😂😂
Sweet truck I have the salsa red
Thanks. The salsa red would look really clean with some polished wheels
So clean!
Thanks!
That Limited Tundra I am riding around in a 2004 but it is all factory and white, I am going to do a project and make it look exactly like yours or as close to as possible, you give me hope that I don’t have to move into a newer tundra to look awesome
@@hydroplaneconvoy8130 you shouldn't need the newest truck to feel cool, but that's just me
Nice truck. BIG tires. Ride ok🤷🏻♂️
Tundras rock.
can you do a video showing how you had to modified the wheel well. no one has shown it for the 1st gens.
Been trying to get to it bud. But life has been kinda hectic. Soon, I'll get to it soon!
Freaking sweet truck! You did a great job!
Thanks man!
Nice I just found myself a 2005 access cab tundra. I never have any passenger so I love it. 130k working on the 4wd nice the previous owner never used 4wd so I am excited to learn about it. I have owned 4runners and still do and Tacoma's. I love this the most. My last 2001anual 4 runner I sunk about 30k into it and it was the best one in town until it saved my life one night crashing avoiding a deer. I will never buy anything but Toyota. I tried 20 years ago selling cars at Subaru and I told all my customers to go-to Toyota. Yah. I got fired. But for a good reason. Anyways my first Toyota V8 and I love it to death. I will armor and lift her with toytec. It came with mudders I love the vibration on the highway lol!
Lol salesman of the year 😂😂. Enjoy that truck though, those were truly built to last
@@02to06TUNDRAFAN yah all windows are stock oem body is in damn near mint. Inside the back bed is done signs of a rough tree worker. I am going to remove the bed this winter and rust proof the ass end frame grind her down and probably some sort of rhino liner product I haven't decided yet. Then do the same to the back axle. If you know any enthusaist forums for these models please let me know. But I am pretty dead set on toytec despite the heavy price. .

Love the truck! Where can I get the light bar on the bumper and fogs?
How about 20” tires? Will I need to do some cutting and adjusting?
Nice truck! What paint did you use to black out the chrome grill and mirrors? I have a black 03 and I think it looks like a pappy truck with the chrome. I thought about plastic dipping it but I think it would give me a flat finish and not match the hood and bumper. Thanks in advance!
It's a limited trim level. The 03+ limiteds come 100% color matched. No chrome other than badges
Did I miss it, can’t seem to find the install of your front bumper LED light bar. Can you please put up a video about it?
Shit man I didn't even see your comment my bad. I try to reply to everyone. I never did an install video on the light bar. I've only seen a handful of 03-06 (updated front clip) first gens running them. So I'd like to be a little different from the crowd. Hope you understand. Thanks for the comment though!
Hey man, stumbled across your vid while researching what mods to do to my first gen. We're neighbors! Looks like you shot this video in Charleston park.
Anything else you might need feel free to hmu on IG as it's a bit easier to get a hold of me on there @marcos_1296 🤙 good luck man
Amazing car man!
Thank you 🤙
Are those 35 tires you have on there?
If so do you think you could have gotten away from rubbing if they where 32s or 33s?
They were 33s
Sweet truck brother. An SOS pad should help clean the exhaust tip nicely. Be safe.
Thanks man I appreciate it! I'll give the SOS pad a shot
the profile look great
Thank you!
What skid plate is that? Looks really nice
That Limited Tundra Yeah my IG is joeyytorres. And sounds good, time to look for one
She is Ann awesome truck I got a 2006 with the vvti ...bro. It hauls ass
Thanks man. I plan on installing some vvt-i parts this year to get some gains out of her
Best looking tundra imo. The crappy milage must be addressed in the new tundra.
is that a 32 inch light? and is it made for 04 tundra or just any light would be fine to mod. to fit?
Sick truck man, really love it
Sheldon M thanks man I appreciate it!
That Limited Tundra for sure man. Would you say that the v8 produces a decent amount of power? Does it preform pretty well pulling a trailer?
Sheldon M definitely underpowered but I'm pretty sure that's what makes the 4.7 so reliable. If you turn overdrive off you'll be fine. I just towed what had to be somewhere around 4k pounds with it which is the most I've pulled with this truck and had no issues. Just needs an electrical trailer brake controller for sure.
That Limited Tundra alright thanks. I’m thinking of buying a 2004 tundra and wanted to know what you thought of it
Sheldon M yeap it's actually been exactly 3 years since I bought mine today. Been towing with it at least 2x a week since then. I would buy it again if I could
Simply amazing tundra 😎
Thanks boss
Thats a dope truck👌👌
Thanks G
Disculpa la pregunta: mencionaste algo de los spacers?? Tiembla mucho cuando la manejas??
No pero maneja mas brusca en los topes y carreteras que no estan bien parejitas
Truck is sick
Thanks man!
Does your bug guard tend to seperate from the grill @ highway speeds? 60-80 mph?
No haha. I've had the truck for 3 years and no issues. I just did a 1 way 30 hour road trip at 80-90 mph and no issues from it
if you ever find out the bugshield manfact let me know! The one I have sometimes comes loose from the hood and grille........thx!
@@rolandvz71able there's no brand on it. Sorry man. It was on the truck when I bought it
What bracket are you using or what website did you get bracket for light bar from?
Looks awesome
Clean clean clean. Still deciding if I want this generation and pay 10K less, or go with the newer 2011-2012 crew max limited.
Also didnt realize I follow you on Instagram already
I love everything about the first gens. Only thing I prefer about the second gen is literally the 5.7 lol.
The 2001-2004 Tacoma’s are very reliable too
It's been a while, but what kind of mpgs do you get? I would like to know daily driving and while towing. I want to jump up to 285/75r16 but am worried about the towing power and mpgs haha
Man I no longer check MPGs it's probably best I not know lol. Last time I checked was like 2 years ago and I avged 12.5 mpg while not towing. I've pulled roughly 7k pounds a time or two with this setup now and haven't had a power issue. My truck wasn't fast but it got the job done.
Where did u get your lift or what nots because I have a 06 access cab 4.7 and I need to make it higher
The lift I got from toytec's website. Check out 1stgenoffroad.com and support a fellow first gen owner! 🤙
Thats a clean truck man I have a 03 but you know when you lend them to your dad it dosent come back the same
Thanks man I appreciate it. Lol my dad has taken it a few times and it's never come back in worse shape. He has an 02 access cab tundra so it's pretty similar. He let me borrow his a couple of years back so I can only return the favor.

I'm sorry maybe I missed it, but are those tires 33s? Or 35s? Did u level it?
305/55R20s which are 33.2x12r20s. Lifted 3" up front and 1.5" in the rear
You got any videos on trimming the plastic and metal parts??
I posted one
If I put a 3” lift kit or even a leveling kit do you think 20x12 would rub? I don’t want to do any trimming so would I have to go with 18x9’s?
Yeah you'd clear them but only after running. Go with the 18x9s with ver little negative offset if you don't want to trim. You'll have to watch tire size though otherwise you'll run the risk of rubbing on the frame and there's nothing you'll be able to do about that
I removed the 20's on my newly acquired 2006 Tundra XSP. It rides and drives much nicer.
I should be good with a 2.5” lift in front ? Can you do a video on all the trimming you did ?
I did click on my channel and check it out. You should be with 2.5 but will more than likely scrub some. I scrub but still back up trailers and shit so very much so driveable
Are you getting any traction control or VSC error lights due to the larger wheels?
Nah mine doesn't have traction control. I believe that's in the 05-06 models but even then you shouldn't have any lights due to larger wheels and tires
Bro im digging the set up. Im trying to put 33s on my 04 tundra, you think itll fit with just a 1 inch front leveling kit?
BeastMode95 the offset of the wheel will make a big difference. But as long as you are willing to do a good bit of trimming anything is possible haha
That Limited Tundra the rim a is 17x8, could you post a video showing how much you cut?
BeastMode95 yeah with a 33 and an 8 wide you will be hitting the frame and obviously no trimming you can do there. I'd look into bilstein 5100s and set them at at least 2" of lift, 2.5" would be better but then you would want to look into supporting mods like uca and a wheel with around -19 offset. That way you have trim the pinch weld like I did and you won't hit the frame. My trim job isn't pretty lol but I'll try to get that for ya one of these days
That Limited Tundra thanks for the advice man!
BeastMode95 no problem man thanks for your support!
Nice truck man!👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you sir!
That Limited Tundra i just bought my wife a 2007 Toyota Sequoia Limited. Im thinking about putting a lift and wheels on it also.
I see some hater here
Bottom line is not anybody can have truck like this nice tundra

What size led bar do you have? Is it a curve?
Great info to put out there, keep up the mods and videos.
What are you doing next?
I’m thinking about doing the switchback turn signals on my 05 dc
But yeah under the rear seat on the driver's side is where I am planning on installing 2 8" subs also
Have same truck SR5 but chrome package. Like convert to blackout like yours. Only comment is put backup lights into rear bumper. Sharp truck.
Thanks chief! I just can't bring myself to cut an oem bumper that is still in decent shape man. Haha
Yep, understand. I did mine and you got to be real careful because there’s not much tolerance/coverage on the flange of the lights. My bumper bang up some so not much risk.
Does your back end spin out when it’s wet? I have an 04 extended cab and it drives me crazy when it does that.
Ask for Keith karty, he'll get you set up
That Limited Tundra thanks bro!
I really like how yours looks

How the strut spacers holding down ?
I’m looking into getting some maybe 2.5
Ride definitely does suffer but they're still holding up. I'd like to try a new set up here soon, just not sure which route I want to go with.
That Limited Tundra
Yikes!
I have same set up . Do u think the 32x12.5r20 Will ok ?
Yes. Pretty much same thing. I had a set of 33x12.5R20s after this set of ko2s and it was exactly the same
By any chance what’s the tires you got for this setup ?
Bfgoodrich all terrain ko2
And do you have a link for them?
Just got a helluva deal on this model, don't look near as slick as yours but thanks for some guidance.
