I just finished a month “fast” of no social media engagement. I still watched YT, instagrammed shopped, etc but I resisted reading comments or commenting. After the month ended, the spell was broken. I peaked at Twitter and saw it’s the same crap on repeat, and I haven’t gone back. I’m feeling tons better, happier. Thanks for the tips!!

Yes! I notice I’m so much more anxious and stressed the more I’m on social media especially

Yes! I like that saying "don't start with your phone, don't end with your phone, don't eat with your phone". It lets other people in your head when you wake up and scroll IG or something.... It immediately sets a bad tone for the day. I turned on "Downtime" on my phone so that my apps aren't useable (with certain exceptions) between 8 pm and 7 am. I have to manually override it. I also set App Limits for 1 hr on Instagram - my major time suck when I'm being mindless. (This is all under Settings, Screen Time).... It helps. I completely agree that starting and ending the day on social media or online is just trash. Without fail there will be something there that spikes my cortisol - and honestly, isn't that at least 50% of what the unintended purpose of social media is? They want to suck you in and get emotionally involved, keep scrolling, etc.... Good on you for cutting a good chunk of it out. - Have a fabulous vacation. Learn something you love there - like a special breakfast or something and tell us about it! Hugs to you and yours, have a great week! PS If (if if if) I get time to myself (meaning the kids are downstairs in the basement playing) I try and keep the TV off, music minimal if on at all.... Just get used to quiet. Let the brain work and decompress.

Such great tips, yet again! Thank you so so much! I’m with you - reducing the noise and all screen time is so helpful to really decompress and reset! Heading back from the trip now and it’s been such a nice reset! I’ve gained so much perspective and I’m sure I’ll be sharing. Thank you as always for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous week, too! ❤️❤️❤️

Yes! My phone will suck the day away! You don’t realize how inactive we are with the phone and the pounds just pack on. I’m gonna try your suggestions- thank you!!

It does take some getting used to! But something tells me we will all prefer it soon enough!

Not gonna lie I felt a little pressured to subscribe... 😬 but thankfully we already had. 😂
Like you said, these tips seem pretty obvious, but yet we don't do them. I (Skylar) am good about not checking my phone while I eat (probably because I love eating too much), but definite got some work to do with not being on it after waking up and before bed. I'm gonna start with not looking at it for the first half hour after waking up. Once I get that routine down, I'll try to cut out the last half hour before bed. I feel like that one's gonna be a lot harder for me.
We hope you have a great vacation!

Your first line gave me a good chuckle. That’s a solid phased approach! So excited for what the new habits bring you. The vacation was incredible. Went with some girlfriends to the Breakers in WPB. The prices are INSANE, but the property and service is UNMATCHED.

I am definitely going to try this! I am always looking at my phone before bed which does interfere with sleep. Love ❤ your videos!

I say that watching your video is ok before bed (right? ❤️). Also uhhhhh I need to stop looking at my phone during my walk. I mean we have dolphin to look at!!

It’s something now some days seem to be harder than others doesn’t it?
Those sweet dolphins always magical to see 🐬

I put my phone on “do not disturb” from 8pm-8am then I won’t respond to text messages until 10am unless it’s an ER. 👸

I don't take my phone in the bedroom. I have an alarm clock.
