  • Vintage Lenses for Fuji X mount. Sharing my Asahi Pentax vintage lenses for Fuji x series, my collection of Pentax lenses. You can adapt these manual focus lenses on any camera. I prefer using Pentax lenses because despite being cheap, they are very high quality. Plus you can find them so easily!

So in this video I wanted to share my collection of vintage lenses that I use. I primarily like using pentax lenses. Here is the list of legacy glass I used in this video:
    SMC Pentax 28mm f2.8
    SMC Pentax 50mm f1.4
    Super Takumar 50mm f1.4
    SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8
    SMC Takumar 135mm f3.5
    Pentax 200mm f4
    Pentax 500mm f4.5
I also use the K&F concept adapters but only because the guy who sells them lives in the next city over.

I have two Pentax 50mm. One of them has fungus I think, but it can give some really cool magenta and green tints to my pictures if I'm shooting in color. It still takes sharp pictures so I'm happy. I am keeping that lens because I can sometimes get creative results without any post processing/filters.

after a two year pentax binge (owning and then selling literally ALL of these lenses you mentioned in this video with the exception of the 500mm, which i am eyeing locally right now actually), i can safely say with some certainty that the best era for pentax glass was the early k-series prime lenses... i know it sounds like nonsense at first, i didn't think lenses could get better than the smc takumar stuff or the m-series. boy, was i wrong. the early k's have a larger 52mm filter thread, as opposed to the 49mm standard of the m42-era or later m-series/a-series. the k-series was only manufactured from 1978-1981... none of them are radioactive either, which is nice.
the smc pentax 24mm f2.8, 35mm 3.5, and 55mm f1.8 never leave my fuji purse. soo svelte, and seriously much sharper than the later m-series... idk what else to tell you, don't knock the slightly more expensive early k-series until you try them...

    * Astoundingly Nice and very straitforward, honest, and insightful video, Very well presented - So nice to watch - Me personally, I'm kind of Proud to say that I actually do have a Little but - to me - unprizingly beloved collection of really well made, robust and true PENTAX older lenses, and I have actually purchased most of them in a couple of local, close by Second hand stores by almost hamburger-sort-of-money; but they are exquisite pieces of diamond-ware to me - I have to say that the solid, very metallic strong feeling in these lenses are so very much more dependable compared to many of the more plastical sort of lighweight ware you often see today unfortunately. The ABSOLOUTE Favourite amongst my Pentax lenses is a rather old, by very neat & clean Super Multi Coated Ahasi Pentax 55 mm 1-1.8 f with 42 mm screw mount. Yes, very old indeed, but sooo amazingly pleasant and accurate to use in almost all photographic situations

Greetings Noe. I have inquiries re: Super Takumar 50mm f1.4:
    1. Someone's selling his SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4 (Version 3), the one with the rubber ring. Would that version be worth the purchase versus either the Super Takumar or the Super-Multi-Coated earlier versions?
    2. Since it emits radioactive rays including alpha, beta and a bit of gamma, when it is mounted on any camera body, would that damage mirrorless camera components (or even DSLR internal parts)? Since we're in the topic, should we always remove the radioactive lense after every use?
    3. Just in case, how do we store radioactive lenses? Many are saying they should be placed on a metal box. If that's recommended, if we place the metal box containing the lense inside a de-humidifier (dry) box, would that cause problems with other photography gears stored inside the dry box?
Thank you so much. Hoping to hear from you soon. :)

    • @Noealz
      @Noealz  3 года назад

If you view my channel often, I don't believe in such thing as a "better" lens of whatever, that is completely subjective and to your own tastes. So choose whatever one you like. Don't worry about radiation, just don't sleep with it.

@@Noealz Thank you for your immediate reply. I forgot to mention and inquire, with regards to aesthetics, which is more durable? It's because the earlier versions had metal rings as opposed to the third version of the 7 element type which has a rubber ring but metal body. Thank you Noe.
