- Using the cubic chunks mod, the height limit in a Minecraft world can be removed. But the depth limit can be removed too...! So by messing with the settings, we can tell Minecraft to keep generating terrain much further down, way below the bedrock. Sometimes, the terrain looks pretty normal, which you'll see- and other times... Well, watch to find out what Minecraft looks like millions of blocks down!

I’m gonna explain the phenomenons seen in this video because I have nothing else to do with my time.
The reason the ‘voidlands’ are so glitchy and unnatural is due to something called a floating point. As numbers begin to approach or surpass the integer limit, numbers can no longer be stored in simple clean digit form, and they get converted to a floating point. The floating point, unfortunately, also has limits and the farther past the integer limit you go, the more inaccurate floating points become.
As for the strange occurrences like no villages and large ore veins, this is because of the Y level. The code only accounts for the normal minimum height limit, so they still get bigger the farther down you are. Villages are only able to spawn at specific Y levels as well.
TL;DR: As numbers get too large to be stored normally, they have to be converted to a new way of storage, but this gets more inaccurate the farther past the limit they are, causing strange occurrences like the ones in this video, and also the Farlands in vanilla Minecraft.

I guess the color of the wood changing everytime you destroyed a block of dirt was cause that is the only time the chunk got lighting updates and the sun was setting or rising at that moment
I am super curious as to when someone will make a mod that's exactly what the devs imagined.
Going to sleep gives you a small chance of bringing you to the dream dimension (not the youtuber) and you have a small amount of time of exploring and stuff

I’d love to see a full playthrough/series in this world. It’s such a fun concept to play minecraft but millions of blocks below ground. Maybe it’s been done before but it’d be a new series for me that I’d eat up in a heartbeat
Fun fact! Lore-wise, the layer of bedrock at the bottom of the overworld is the same layer at the top of the Nether. So, to answer your question; the Nether is what's under the bedrock.
what if Squiddo was just underneath the Voidlands of the nether and the overworld at the same time... and went even further down when she entered the nether...
I love this! So cool how the worlds of Minecraft could be infinite, but because of computer limitations they start getting weird as you go too far! The familiar world is what's close to us, what we know, but eventually we can see a glimpse of the chaos beyond...

1:43. I believe the concept of this dream world was later turned into an end.
Also there is a mod inspired by this idea, that adds it's own version of the dream world. The mod name is aether.
And I believe there is a mod that adds a bunch of scrapped ideas to minecraft, including the dream world.
I think dream world was transformed into version of heaven, and only then into end

I think a lot of the problems might have been the game suffering from generating so many more blocks than normal

I double checked the wiki and the iron vein makes sense! They can apparently appear with more than 2000 blocks of a particular ore O.o
Apparently iron veins are programmed to appear below Y=0 so if that didn’t change in 1.18 this makes sense because they nowadays appear in deepslate and with cubicchunks they appear in the void

I'm kinda surprised that AntVenom hasn't discovered some of the bugs when he traveled waaaaay down like you do.
A lot of the Minecraft logic is failing simply because of the y height value being so far below zero.
Basically Minecraft is turning into an upside down version of itself.
