- Taking a look at the Nvidia GeForce 9800GT graphics card that released back in 2008 for $160. Today it can be found for very cheap in the used market. Is it still capable of playing games? Let's find out!
Due to lack of DirectX 11 support we couldn't test a lot of 2020 games.

Heeeeeey
look who joined the party
Hey, it can’t “face the music” if it can’t play a couple tunes, you know? XD
RDGHD luv u bro...
Yow RGHD❤️
I think cards in that time became obsolete way sooner. My 9600gt felt old quite fast and I bought it on release, My gtx 1060 still feels very capable.
Definitely, there were GPU releases every few months back then, with big performance increases. Now the RTX 20 series has been out for 2 years already and we're still 2 months away from next gen.
The 10 series didn't have a successor for around 2 years as well
gt 8600 was old tech compared to gt 8800 (still have one, choose between it and gt 8600) - first pcie 2.0 card. The difference is similar to gtx 650 Kepler and gtx 750 Maxwell. Gtx 1060 (I had 3gb version), is more close than Pascal and Turing. g92 is more close to Fermi than to g80.
GeForce 9800 GT: runs gta 5 better than gt 710
GT 710 users: NANI!!!!
Sadly yes, waiting for 2060 super to get cheaper
I have the GT 710 😭😭😭🤔
I run gta v with a 710 and score more than 80 FPS with a mod and it really works good
@@jagdeepsingh9515 get a 5700 or 5700xt same price if not cheaper and perform like a 2070/super

Been watching since 8k it’s crazy how much you’ve grown as a channel man. Serious respect dude
3:44 yes the death that you talked about
I still had a 9800 GT before Battlefield 3 was released in 2011. After the beta I decided to buy a (then) new HD 6870 because 1920x1080 was too much for the 9800 GT (1280x1024 was common), but it has been a decent GPU especially for its price to performance ratio. (120-130€ in 2008, going below 100€ in 2009) There was a reason for this, obviously. ATI was much stronger in a lot of ways before 2010 and nvidia had to keep up, therefore a lot of new GPUs were released between 2008 and 2011. A lot more than today. But I think these were good times for gaming and your 2020 test reminds me of this time. Thank you.
Nice video man,brings back memories.
I don't know why your videos always boosts up my mood 😇
Yes I was waiting for this video 🎉
I had a 9800GT paired with a Phenom 9500 in a Gateway GT5662. Was my first gaming capable computer and kept me entertained for many years before building my own.
Him : i dont play valorant in a bit
Him in the Next 10 minutes : literaly a Demigod
it was my first vga card in 2009. I had been very happy when I bought it. Re4 Re5 Re6 Gta etc etc...I played with it first. That was very good card for the games I used it nine years than one year I used r7 265 and now I am going on with rx 570. 9800 gt still my favourite card on my heart.
Me2, with it i can played Kotor
Liked your review mate! Keep up the good work.
I have one of these graphics cards. I played a lot of payday 2, dead island, far cry 3, and COD games that were available in 2010. I still have the build and opened it up. Wow, the nostalgia, looking inside my first computer build.
So it's good to keep my Palit 9800GT all the way from 2009 and still use it, nice review man of old gpu
Wow I still use mine Palit 9800 1gb too I thougt I was the only one :D
3:45 this is why your vids are entertaining
Also fun fact, This graphics card is actually the minimum requirement GPU for GTA V
That is what I said.
Nice vid bro your subs are really going up fast I hope you get 100k you defenatly deserve it you work very very hard
Thank you :D

thank you! I'm glad the videos help :)
@@zWORMzGaming i will recommend you to my friends and watch it I'm also a bigfan❤️❤️
OMG, this card is superfast. I thought it will be a sub 5FPS experience.
You should do a test where you compare 2009 results with actual measurements. I think the drivers and CPu helps a lot. E.G COD MW3 was much slower back than, I'm sure of it.
De a battlefield 4-et jól viszi lowosan

I love how you actively avoid hitting the citizens in gta
this is what you needed to play mafia 2 on high back in 2010
another nice video, and good music.
I bought my gigabyte 9800GT 1gb a couple of weeks after release and i still have that GPU on a build with an Intel Q 6600 CPU on my fathers home and it still runs like in the day i bought it . I use to play a lot of CS GO , BF4, Far Cry 2 and 3 even GTA V with it ^^ .
That music part is the best 👌😂😂

In 720p it'd be 15-20 in 1080p

Damn gud videos and ossum commentary 😄👍
Thank you :D
Excellent, thorough gaming tests on the 9800 GT dude. I was amazed it did as well as it did. Too bad they never had a low profile version of the card though since it might pair well with an OEM SFF PC. I’d love it if you could get an HD 7570 and an HD 8570 and see what you can do with those cards. Thanks again for a great video bud.
There is/was a low profile version. Currently have one sitting on my desk at work. Removed it from a Dell XPS desktop.
www.amazon.com/512MB-GeForce-9800GT-TV-out-Express/dp/B005EDDFRS
Shawn Duffy the link leads to a full size card...it is a single slot card. Low profile means half height so it can fit in a small form factor PC like an HP Elite or a Dell Optiplex
Can we all take a moment to admire how good he actually is at most of these games
No
His videos fr help me get cheap and good gpu
Bro how r u so good, in every fps games u be hittin clips like come on now wtf
I had this GPU when I was 14, I had no idea it would be this impressive years later. Jeez.
Using a GTX 1080 now.
U went from 1 legendary GPU to the other
After the video I searched for 9800 gt (to know the prize in my country)in Google and your video was suggested there
Damn, that was fast to appear in the recommended searches!
i love your videos from egypt keep up pro
Had this Graphics card for my 1st gaming desktop.
It was an XPS 630i with an Intel Core 2 Quad & the Geforce 9800GT. However, I also had Windows Vista 32-bit which gave me a crap ton of crashes.
How the hell valorant gets 110fps and csgo gets 63fps, how that game is so bad optimized
Simple. Valorant was built from ground up and CSGO is the result of constantly changing and adding stuff over years and years. CSGO used to be really easy to run too. And honestly it still is. It’s only hard on potato PCs
Csgo's 2004 Engine?
both of those games were CPU dependent and His Cpu was really overkill and good that is why he was getting good frames this isn't as much of a fair Benchmark
This is a GPU benchmark. If the GPU wasn't capable, we'd not be getting those frames.
@@zWORMzGaming I m not saying that the benchmark was wrong I am saying having the good CPU will help a lot but most of us low end gamers who would like to buy the GPU wont be able to get that much of a high end Cpu but overall Really great video as always i love your content a lot :D
Best RUclipsr, imagine installing everytime a new gpu test

It wasn't even that expensive back then. With money earned from my side job delivering newspapers and some saved up birthday money from earlier that year, I build my first pc on christmas 2008. I spent about €400 in parts, with this GPU being only €109. Today's mid-range offerings are much more expensive, with the 3070 coming soon going for 500+ :/
yeah but you can get a 1650 Super for 170€...sure as hell blows this thing out of the water, even relative to it's release date.
Do y’all regret saying any of this?

@@TheGamerDanro and the fact the graphics cards that were supposed to be cheaper than last gen basically aren't even buyable makes buying budget graphics cards even worse I was lucky I got a 3060ti they're sold out EVERYWHERE and probably still will be for the next few months the 3050/3050ti that's about to come would've been perfect for budget gamers like you (I assume) who still want a nice gaming performance but I think because it'll be even cheaper that means more People will want to buy it making it EVEN MORE hard to get it's not fun trying to get a flagship GPU i had to wake up at 2am in the morning to get mine of course I don't know when you're planning to buy a new GPU and if you're going for the flagships but good luck even older gpus are priced really badly I see the 1080ti priced the same as a 2060 it doesn't make sense

Was using this GPU all the way into 2015, glad to to see the little guy still has a little bit of life in it! It's now living in a cousin's kid's PC, doomed to play Roblox and Minecraft till it drops lmao
you can play James bond quantum of solace, ice age 2, peter jackson's king kong, the chronicles of Narnia , dynasty warriors, spiderman friend or foe, Xmen Apocalypse , in fact over 200 pc games of all genres
Almost sounded like you were about to bust out the Tokyo Drift theme at 0:40.
In GTA V, that "most demanding area" isn't demanding at all. It's because of the grass. And if it's enabled, you need a powerful GPU to handle it, if it's off like in the video, there's nothing special there. Also: in GTA V, you can edit settings file, and you can turn off shadows completely. That gives at least 10-20 FPS boost, or even more. Editing the settings file is really easy. With older GPU's it's a MUST. Have a nice day.
Im using this card in 2020 with i5 2500, and 8 gig ram, and playing guild wars 2 in 1080p low and normal settings, and its 30-45 fps :D I'll get my next card tomorrow, a gtx 660oc, will see the difference :)
