One of the things I love most about your flashlight reviews is that you master the U. I. Of all the lights you show us before you make a video. I’m so tired of reviewers that don’t know how to use a product that they are showing audience. Another great review of an outstanding product. Thank you sir.
I have only just started watching ur channel about 3 or 4 weeks, and never realized how fascinating and complex flashlights can be. Keep up the great work!
I really enjoy your videos and find your voice very sultry and relaxing. The way you treat each light to tear down and the materials used I like it. Keep up the good work.
Another great presentation and a really cool looking Flashlight. Have been interested in RovyVon lights for some time now, thank you for another great presentation
RovyVon definitely got their target audience nailed down with this type of light - instant turbo and built in charging is exactly what tac pro guys want. I'm also glad they have a non-proprietary battery for their larger lights, since their keychain lights all are sealed (except a few) The UI for this particular version is almost nothing for what I'm looking for in a light, but the rotary shortcut to strobes could interest a specific group of people. Great review as always.
I love the edit in the middle. Always been a fan of RovyVon. I’ve bought probably a dozen or so of their keychain lights as gifts for family and coworkers. Still have one on my own keychain!
I personally have no use for easily accessible strobe like that, but I love seeing manufacturers experimenting with input options. You can do a lot with a single button, but it's not fun, efficient, or effective. I want to see more buttons, dials, rotary interfaces, and also battery indicators. Though ultimately a simple standard rotary interface where I can turn the ring to the right to get more light and to the left to get less might be my favourite and something we need more of.
Love it. Great light. I've had great experience with Rovyvon. I love the switches and interface of this light - esp. the fact that when on steady you won't get strobe unless you physically move the switch. Nice to see that it can be modded easily. Thanks for the review.
This or warrior 3s? Best value or most recommended? I purchased a 3s a month ago and your review pushed me to do so. It’s an awesome light. However, is this better or just competition? Edit: in other words, would I be served by getting this or just throw my $ at something even higher class? I own the marauder mini so what else is there that is recommended?
You are by far the BEST flashlight reviewer on RUclips! So glad I subscribed, and thanks for the great review. My latest Rovyvon just showed up yesterday, my third Aurora A8, this the 4th gen. and it is absolutely fantastic! The best keychain flashlight out there, imo. I'll have to check the S23, love the look and function of that flashlight!
It’s cool to see rovyvon doing more handheld flashlights. It’s a very intuitive design, I just sadly don’t have a need for so much strobe. Hope the emitter swap works out well for you!
As an electrician, I would love to see if the magnets can hold the light up from vertical, and to see operation with gloved vs ungloved hands. Your reviews are awesome, and appreciated!
Спочатку мені здавалося, що це черговий "тактичний" оверпрайс. І я не люблю холодне світло, але тут дуже цікавий драйвер, гарний дизайн і цікава схема керування. Дякую за огляд!
I am just getting into flashlight collecting, so I don't know really what brands are good and trustworthy. I love how detailed your videos are. I do like the ease of being able to switch the dial to strobe, off, or beam so I instantly get whatever I'm looking for. I also liked that it didn't heat up. Thank you so much for your detailed, thorough reviews.
Btw thank you for all the recent content. Your awesome for taking the time to put all of these videos together. This is certainly an interesting light, does rovyvon have any other non keychain lights?
Very cool light … I haven’t yet purchased one from them, but I’m about to order this one right meow! Appreciate your videos man I’ve learned more watching your stuff than all the others combined. Plus you’ve helped me justify my constant spending as I combat my wife’s plant 🪴 addiction 🤦🏻♂️
A bit of a long-boy for a magnet. But, if the D4SV2 can do it, why not? That's an interesting UI, not sure it's my style despite the rotary element... I love a nice rotary! Interesting catch on the lumen testing - Maybe a short with some beamshots of those swapped-in XPL-HI's and your Emisar? Get a little TIR vs quad-reflector action with similar emitters? I kinda suspect I know what we'd see, though. Not sure I'd prefer it over the mega-value Brynite, though... Of course, neither really offers a CCT I'm looking for these days.
200 meters? Searchlight? Not sure why Rovyvon is calling it a searchlight, its a flooder. My Astrolux FT02S is 11,000 lumens with a throw of 501 meters with the same 4 emitter reflector but a bit larger with a single 21700 cell and its a flooder. Its a great looking flashlight but for 130 dollars? The wurkkos ST11 is a great little pocket searchlight along with the MC13 and the IF22A. The Thrunite TN40S, BLF GT and Convoy L7 are searchlights, love then!! Even my EDC Lumintop X9L with 810 meters of throw is a great pocket searchlight. I own a couple of Rovyvon flashlights and they are very nice flashlights. I always enjoy your videos, thank you! Thumbs up!!!
It's great seeing more and more physical user interfaces that go beyond a single e-switch or button. I still love my Thrunite Scorpion (V2), it's one of my most used lights ever.
When you show the flashlight at the start of the video you can immediately tell if it's a premium one. And as others says, dual input interfaces are most of the time better. And I love multi emitter flood lights
This seems and looks like a really nifty search light. I like the rotary dial feature, but I'm not a fan of it being the only way to turn on the light. If the button could only go to low setting with the dial in the middle that would be nice in my opinion. All in all I feel this is a pretty solid unit.
I was completely unaware of this model. It looks so interesting and innovative. No frills. No complications. And a clever UI implementation. It also looks seriously handsome. I'm glad to know the ring selector has a good firmness to it, as I could see a real problem if it was loose. I just hope it remains that way over time. Are you going to go ahead and mod it with SST-20 4000k?
@@cheule Great to hear that! How difficult was it to extract the mcpcb and perform the upgrade? Did RovyVon present any challenges? I'll have to search around to see if there's a video.
I want a Rovyvon A8 series type of light but in typical EDC size. All of the features the A8 provides in a larger/practical model with excellent battery life would be the most ideal EDC ever.
What an interesting offering from Rovyvon! I bought my wife and I keychain lights from them a few years ago and they are still going good. I think it’s rare to see a magnet on a 21700 light in my experience. The E07x is the only recently released light that I have come across but I haven’t looked at the D4k yet which I imagine has a magnetic tail cap. I have an older TO50R from Wuben that this light reminds me of. It too has a magnetic tail cap and runs a 21700. But where the E07x can’t support it’s own weight horizontally, the TO50R can. The Wuben also has this dual switch configuration that I really like. The UI is very different from the S23 but I still reminds me of it. Does the magnet on the S23 support it’s own weight horizontally? If so, this could be a string candidate to replace the TO50R as the latter uses micro USB. Also, I love that you peak to the modding side of things in some of your reviews. It was the first thing I was asking myself and you did exactly what I was thinking about doing. Thanks for the great video! Cheers
Huh, the rotary ended up being flipped from what I thought. I would have guessed button on/off and rotary to adjust level. Random thought was that I wished more lights with simple ui e-switch would add a brightness down combo from like a 2H (though risk of blinding if mispress with common turbo of 2C haha).
Hello Sir, did you ever find from rovyvon if there was a discount code for this light? You stated you would ask but have not received a response. Thank you for your time. Great work by the way
Thanks for the review! Really fresh ui with excellent accidental activation protection. Not a big fan of having to interact with 2 buttons to turn it on and off the way i want though.
Love the fast charging but not a big fan of the flap charging ports they seem to wear out for me curious why more flashlights don’t have a waterproof charging port like cell phones have
I had no idea that RovyVon did big lights. It looks like a nice light, but I don't think I'd like that user interface and of course it just had to be cool white. 😔 Did you see the Olight January sale announcement? They're going to have 3 colors of the new Baton 3 Pro Max. Black with 3 emitter options (WW, NW, CW) OD Green with CW and Tan with CW but the body is Magnesium Alloy (Tan only). You probably already have one. I hope there is a review on the way. 😁
Damn it Dude! Yet another light I don’t need but will now have to buy! 🤣 LOVE Rovyvon lights but don’t own a single one that has a replaceable battery.

Really neat looking light. The user interface seems fantastic. I'll probably get this one. Thanks for the great review!
I've been looking to this light since it came out, I'm so glad you reviewed it. Now I want some beam shots with the swapped emitters!
I didn’t do it, because the beam shots would change from SST-20 to XP-L HI to 219c (I almost used those).
Great review, I'm a fan of their keychain lights and was pleasantly surprised to see they made a handheld one

Yes they do, a tactical light called G1 and others.
Such a cool light to swap! I don't think I would have looked at this light in any context except for this review.
Glad to see rovyvon finally upping their game. Looking forward to the day you review the newer FF E07x Pro.

Thinking of getting one of these, and thinking of slicing 1 or two of the leds, that would make it warmer. Your thoughts?
This light is very easy to swap. It will take 519A, sw45k, SST-20 or XP-L HI just to name a few options.
I like the output/ size ratio.
Is the rotary switch easily operated with one hand? Sorry, I missed that detail. Thanks
One handed.
A bit of a long-boy for a magnet. But, if the D4SV2 can do it, why not?

It has mode memory.

I’m so very tired. Don’t get used to it :)
Great review. Have you compared it to the Nitecore p20ix?
I haven’t used Nitecore in quite a while. No real reason why, just haven’t

Talking about weird multi-emitter reflector shapes, are you going to review the RovyVon 10000 Lumen searchlight with Spot & Flood?

How does this compare to a nice Olight?
