I've obviously heard of Marcus Garvey but I tell you I was never taught any of this in school. Not one mention of him. This is my first time hearing him speak. He was a powerful orator.

Marcus Mossiah Garvey, reminded us of who we truly are. Never did a black man cover diverse topics that concerned our ancient and present day livity. He remains a force to be reckoned. He warned us not to forget the perils our forefathers experienced right from being whisked away from Africa shores to the great Americas and Europe. He quotes us a "sleeping giant", which is true. All African heads of state should ascribe to his principles and ideologies if we are to reach great heights as other nations and races. I like most his quote on religion. "Though late we be, we the Negroes (Africans) shall hence view God through the spectacles of Ethiopia..."
He is not only a pan africanist but also considered a founding prophet of Ras Tafari faith...

I've heard the speech a lot of times before but I just took my son to school he's just 10 I let him listen to this on the way to school and I talked to him and I told him why I his father is always drilling him and sometimes it seems like I'm mean to him but I'm not it's just tough love that I have to give him some time and I let him know that this is very serious this thing called life because I love him
