Super cool. I wish more young people would take the plunge like you did. Much respect for going out on your own. Look forward to more great stories and success.
The sail home was more like how sailing should be, stress free!! I noted at one point you used your safety line too. This is important to USE it!! Keep a good watch and you will become an "old sailor"!!
Was worried that I could loose balance while carrying that 20 kg fuel can. But as a lot of people suggest, it should be worn everytime while leaving the pit ✌️
Young man it is for sure for you a learning curve on your journeys thus far. Only by experience can you learn and their will be many more experiences on your journeys to live through and learn. I'm looking forward to your next sailing adventure. As always stay safe and use the Err of caution in your journeys. God bless.🙂
Congratulations on a successful voyage, you did a fantastic job. Love the drone footage, it can't be easy flying that and sailing solo, or getting it back onboard a relatively small yacht, but the footage gives a great perspective for the viewer, and possibly you too! Looking forward to your next voyage.
Excellent mini adventure - really good training, so many things to know and learn. Navigating canals, dealing with large commercial ports and traffic, battery problems, fuel problems, wind problems, sail problems, fisherman problems! and filming it all at the same time... very good.
South of dover the fishing vessels are the greatest problem. Cargo vessels are well predictable, but fisher often do rapid course changes in the middle of the night and often don‘t have their AIS activated 🙌
@@jakoblangsailingoh that sounds dangerous that they don't have AIS... i saw another guy wo sailed the Southern Ocean.. said you can go days (he might have said a week) without even seeing another boat... get yourself down to antarctica! then you can get a a nice sleep!
@malthus101 Yeah, they sometimes turn off their AIS because they don‘t want to give their position away to other fishers eventough as commercial vessels they are obligated to have an AIS sending)
Just finished the series on your Guernsey adventure: brilliant! Also found out that we share a homeport, so if there is ever an opportunity my wife and I will gladly offer you a cold beer as thanks for taking us along on your voyages virtually. Really cool stuff with great editing. Thanks Jakob! (Alpha Scramble, pier G)
I'm saving my money and looking at sailboats, and I found your channel. I'm so happy I did; thank you for bringing me along. I can't wait for your next adventure. Until next time, be safe & take care.
Sailing Wolf; You need to do a viseo of your boat and the gear aboard. Lots of viewers watch these sailing clips and learn from the boat and equipment. SV Amanda
Enjoyed the videos ,Think you did a fantastic little adventure in a challenging enviroment and solo ! You must have learnt so much from the trip , well done 💪👍🙂
Really enjoyed this video. Just found it by accident. You have such a relaxed attitude and get across how much you enjoy your sailing journeys. You are doing this on your own which is quite remarakable and shows great bravery IMHO. Keep well and safe. James.
Awesome videos, Jakob! Looking forward to your next adventure! I have a sense you're only getting started here ;-) Would be great to see how you manage to get your drone out and safely back in again -- especially when it's nearly dark!
@@jakoblangsailing well... maybe for you! But on a moving boat, even in the daylight doesn't seem easy! It would be great if you could show us how you produce those amazing drone footages!
Great video, we are going to do same trip, couple of points would like more info on, how was the time traveling through the shipping at Rotterdam, and the total days getting to Guernsey, and the total days on the return trip. thanks
Thanks! Going through Rotterdam was pretty easy, as long as you stay in the crossing area of the entrance TSS (marked on the chart, around 1 nm parallel off the coast). The total days, at least nonstop as planned would have been around 4 days. With stops it was 7 days. Sailing back was done in 4.5 days due to strong current with sometimes only doing 2 knots for a whole night
Really nice to see how your doing this al by yourself and love the filming! Recently bought a Dehler Optima 92 in NL myself(still have to learn some sailing). Recognized yours immediately. When you see an orange one struggling on the Markermeer, you know it’s me ;)
Great videos and I admire your bravery! If I must give a bit of a kind advice, after your voice over is done the music comes in really loud and I find my self continously adjusting down for the music and up for the voice over. Understandable the music to come in a bit louder after the voice over but it is way too loud. Looking forward for more videos from you. Thanks.
Great video! Just one thing. The Dutch flag has the red above. If you hang it the other way around, you're making a point in favor of the farmers' rights :-) Enjoy your trip.
Very nice and interesting account of your trip. Could you say something about your recording gear? cams and drone? thanks for your narrative and superb edition.
Thank a lot! My main cam is a Panasonic GH4 with a Leica 12-60 mm lens and a 7 mm wide angle. My second cam is a GoPro Hero 8 and for arial I use Mavic Air 2S. And sometimes just my phone. Hope that answers your question :)
Hey mate 👍🏼 what’s your plan for this channel going forward? Edit: I know you said you are planning another trip. So I’m assuming it’s not a full time thing. Good stuff so far 👍🏼👍🏼
