  • In this video I see if I can heat my 36x40 un insulated pole barn building. The only insulation that is in the building is fiberglass insulation in the vented soffits and in the ridge vent. Other than that, there is no other insulation. I tested every hour until I believe I reached the max temperature the barn could hold. This video is going to be a part of a series of videos that I am going to make to test each phase of insulation. Next will be a ceiling install with no insulation, then I will blow in the insultation above that. Then finally I will insulate the side walls. Each phase testing how well the barn reaches a max temperature and how long it takes to get there. Subscribe to see the results. Thanks for watching!!

What do you mean? You can heat anything if you have enough BTU's

You are right. This was a test to see if stuffing the insulation in the ridge vent and soffit would help slow the release of BTU’s. Also, to see how long it took to make it comfortable.

My buddy Jim at Coppercitylandscaping just insulated his ceilings. That helped huge with his heat retention.
A large majority of heat is lost out the ceiling if not insulated. (Not sure on exact percentages)
Remember to take out the ridge and eave vents once you have it fully insulated 😉

@@315-snoblow I can’t wait to see the difference the ceiling makes with insulation. I’ll be taking out the insulation on ridge vents and soffit for sure. Good looking out!
