Watched this and almost choked up. Spent my a week and a half in the Keys this past September and it was the most incredible vacation of my life. Such an amazing place to be. I miss it every day.

Visited the Keys last year, and I'd like to return one day. Went kayaking with Lazy Dog Adventures and had a blast!
Lived there for 3 years back in the late 70's/early 80's. The have a saying that you can't get the sand out of your shoes once you've been and man do I miss it!

Are you wondering why there's not a single mention of riding Jet Skis in the Florida Keys? Me too! Just remember that if you bring your PWC to the Keys you better check ahead because most of the lower Keys have laws against them especially on the Gulf side southwest of Marathon Key.
So Come here to the Keys, where you will feel a welcome as the subtropical Sun a long with some crazy singing drunk person who walks bear footed through Key West with a radio on his shoulder singing drunk and then a old black guy with a kane, blind? Comes through the crowd and he then follows him like a drunk magnet. That would be the weirdest thing I'd seen there, just get ready to see a lot of drunk people and hear a train horn blast from a truck while your dinning out. If you see this guy or the other guy, let me know!! I'm thinking about living there for 2 years, so don't let any of this annoy you because you can be in your own world and enjoy what you want to enjoy. It's all about you. XD I want to go there so badly but felt like I had to mention this!!

Why say subtropical?
Pretty sure it's 100% tropical.
Either coldest month should be above 18C on avg or annual avg temp has to be above 22C.. That's tropical, Florida from Tampa and down is above this.

Great video! I live in the keys and always thought it was ridiculous that it's considered part of Florida, so far away from Florida and nothing like the rest of florida. Dry tortugas is even part of florida and it's literally 300 miles from florida.
If you want to swim with the Dolphins, you would have to pay an additional 500.00 dollars and read some negative reviews before you go.
I love Florida but my Asthma acts up to the point that I ended up in the ER on both trips. Never again. Something to do with plants and organisms that live in humid air, steamy showers do not affect me. I wish there was a treatment, it's where I want to live. Not the desert.

The thing they dont tell you is rent down here is way overpriced thats why not a lot of people can afford to live down here I pay 600 per month for a room 12 by 18 with a toilet and shower a 1 bedroom is 1500 to 1800 a month even the sherriffs have to get other sherriffs to afford it down here as soon as the millionaires take over there will no longer be people to run the gas statios and resteraunts then what? they will ship the workers from main land like they have been doing, yea its paradise for the visitors but hell for the people that live here, why dont we move? cause cant get far enough ahead to afford to move.
