I prefer the local Christmas market where I can meet friends. Speaking of the bigger cities I think Nuremberg is the best one. I prefer the franconian style Stollen also.
I can see how it is special to visit the local markets and meet up with friends and neighbors. The Nuremberg market was really nice. I will look up the Franconian style stollen. Thanks for watching!
Heading to Dresden in a few days. If I go by my mom's practice, stollen is something you eat for Christmas Day breakfast on the 25th. She would put butter on it, sometimes even toasting it. We didn't get it often, but she made an array of breads for this even. The lebkuchen was a dessert, or treat to serve while opening gifts or just after. The Moravian stars are something I look forward to seeing. We have a very different type here in DK, except for the ones near the towns founded by Herrenhutte folk. Though I have not seen them in different colors. Thanks for the video.
We went to this market again this year and loved it so much more. It’s such a great market. Love all the stalls and food. It’s a beautiful market. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
I do like the taste of a good stollen but I also dislike the texture( I think texture is the main problem people have with it) ,so what I usually do is dip it in some kind of hot beverage to let it soak up some moisture, then it becomes a pretty good christmas snack.
I love how polite you are about the Christstollen 😅 Very few Germans actually like it, it's usually given as a gift (just because it's tradition) and sometime after Christmas it is discreetly retired to the bin. Or re-gifted to someone you don't like

My family eats the stollen toasted with butter.
Wow I need to try that! That sounds delicious.
Greetings from Dresden 🤗
Thanks for watching!

I did try it with coffee and I think it did make it even better. Thanks for watching!
Hehe, I prefer Lebkuchen, too. Each year I start sooner eating them, this year it was September .... 😂
They are so good. That is similar to how each year we start listening to Christmas music a little sooner it seems like.

That is how the fruit cake is viewed in the US. That is a neat similarity. Thanks for watching!
