    If you "didn't expect this" (your words) -then you shouldn't be driving in the UK. Driving and "didn't get time to look around" !?!? - NO - You ARE Driving - keep your eyes on the ROAD!

    It isn't rocket science driving on the right and remember that the UK has a far longer history of roads and road building than America. But then, you have to allow for American mentality when they elect a moron like Trump.

    It's so funny because as a German I don't like exotic foods from other countries or even things like liver etc. But a good Mettbrötchen is so normal I don't even think about it. I think a lot of disliking a flavor is the prejudice and fear about it you have in your head

    One thing, even some British people don't know this. When driving in the UK your phone or GPS should not be in the center of the windscreen. You can have one on the window but it should be in the corner tucked away so you have a fully clear view of the road ahead. You probably won't get pulled over for it but if you commit another driving offence or have an accident it could be taken into account

    Same old same old. You drive on the right, we drive on the left, get over it, it really isn't that difficult. Thousands of Brits drive into Europe and drive on the right in right hand drive cars, and vice versa. It isn't ever going to change with, so many cars on the roads, and with road junctions, signage and traffic signals it would be mayhem changing over. Just embrace it as part of the adventure of your holiday.

    The city was German till 1945 and called Breslau. In 1945, 650,000 Germans were expelled from the city. It is the largest city on Earth, whose entire population was expelled. It was the third-largest city of the German Empire after Berlin and Hamburg. Everything built there before 1945 was built by Germans. The city was German-speaking since around 1200-1300. The descendants of the Slavic founders of the village from before 1200 were Germanized, and expelled in 1945, too. Before the Slavs settled in Silesia (the region in which the city lies) in around 400-600, Silesia was inhabited by East Germanic tribes. All Nobel prize winners from the city's university were Germans, and none was Polish. A look on a political map of Europe from before 1945 helps.

    I have never understood the issue that Americans have with driving in the UK as if driving on the other side of the road is like being asked to do brain surgery. If that’s the case why do millions of Brit tourists around the world drive on the other side of the road without any issue.

    I really don't see what the fuss is about. The first time I ever drove on the righthand side of the road was in the USA, and I drove a manual transmission. I didn't find it "so weird" or "crazy" nor did it freak me out in the least - I just followed the flow of traffic and drove on the same side of the road as other cars travelling in the same direction. And I didn't find it a problem reverting to driving on the lefthand side of the road, when I visited any of the countries which comprise the 45% of world that drive on the lefthand side. It's just a small change - but before you do, get over yourself: you don't see endless RUclips videos posted by people visiting the UK from countries other than the US that drive on the righthand side. You don't see the French germans, Brazilians, Koreans, Italians, Canadians, Argentinians etc etc etc visiting the UK complaining about having to drive on the on the lefthand side. Why is it always only Americans who can;'t handle the change?

  • @suedenym8666
    @suedenym8666 19 дней назад

    What a melodrama! Americans make such a huge thing of driving in the UK. The first time I drove in Europe it took about five minutes to get used to it and that was it. We drive over to Europe on the right side and then back in then UK on the left, no fuss, no problem. If you're so scared you really shouldn't be driving. You can't drive a manual car unless youve passed a manual test, otherwise your insurance will be invalid.

    Just imagine being an international truck driver and how they cope travelling from uk to Europe and back again, it’s something you get used to. I travel a lot from the UK To Europe, eventually your brain just learns to adjust more quickly. I think it’s a great idea to drive around a car park or a quiet street just to get used to driving on the wrong side of the road. Thanks for posting 🙏

    Im just back from Germany and was driving on the right in a manual. Yes its awkward at first but its surprising how quickly you adjust. Hardest part for me was a roundabout the wrong way. Overtaking was weird at first also
