Great video Lucas! I would highly recommend this Ruck March for anyone who is a lover of walking/hiking/nature. This event is open to everyone so you don’t have to be in the military to participate. It was a wonderful opportunity to interact with people from all over Europe and was also a great challenge. If you’ve never hiked for 40km, you would be surprised at how challenging this is!
@@trailblazinpeppers Have already booked one of the cabins at Dirbach Plage. This year is going to be my 12th trip to Dirbach/Diekirch. Have done the 2x40 a couple of times, but mostly go for the 2x20 now, altough I should go for a longer distance, since I am also going to the 4x40 Vierdaagse in Nijmegen this year :)
I will actually be staying in a different place this year. I will be doing the 2x40. I will also be a Nijmegan this year. Feel free to find me at Luxembourg and say Hi.
I remember meeting you in the award area! Kurdish SGM. Little tip the first day up the high hill is required to be marched in order to be a Luxembourg soldier.
What’s the time limit, Sir? You mentioned the second day had less elevation changes, was the route different on day 2? I’ll be going this following May!
@@trailblazinpeppersI have just finished my first time doing the 40km on day1 and 20km on day2. I‘m wondering if the 40km on day1 this is the same route as last. And maybe we could have seen each other this year😅 It‘s nice video to watch especially after completing it yourself😝
@@Meganer69 The routes this year seemed pretty much the same as last year with only minor changes. Congrats on completing it! I talked to several people that said if you can do the two days in Diekirch then you can do the 4 days at Nijmegan. I did the 2x40 this year. You probably saw me and just didn't realize it.
They did a virtual one during COVID but last year and this year it is just in person in Luxembourg. The Bataan death march ruck may be virtual this year.

Nice video and a good presentation of the Dirkirch 2 days march.
And the funny thing, We always stay at the same hotel as you guys :)
Thank you. We had a great stay and the restaurant was great too! I will be back this year.

There are even 2 more marches in the US where you can collect stamps for the IML medal.
One in San Antonio and one in Arlington.
I would love to do that. Thanks for watching!
So what would you do differently if you were to do this again?
I will be doing it again this year. I may try to change socks more and use some bandages on my feet to prevent blisters.

Yes the race starts at 0700 and ends at 1700. There is a different route each day. I will be there too this May! See you there!

Can I do it on my own without traveling

@@trailblazinpeppers thanks for the info. 🥲
What were the time limits to complete the 40km each day
I believe it started at 0700 and you have to finish by 1700.
Nijmegen next year?
That is the plan!
@@trailblazinpeppers The 4 days of Nijmegen are very tough, but it is an overwhelmingly wonderful experience that you don't want to miss.
Make Walk not War. I like it.
