Leipzig Zoo is fantastic. I own a permanent ticket for 16 years now. When you live/work in the city, it is fantastic to take 30 minutes/ 1 hour now and then and just hop in to chill with the elephants or the meerkats.
No surprise, you visited one of the best zoos in Germany and even Europe. 🙂 Fun fact, the zoo have his own tv show in Germany, every friday at 19.50 (7.50 pm) at MDR. Another zoo i like is in Rostock. 🙂

We LOVED this zoo. It’s our favorite.
Come back to the zoo in autunm or winter for gondwana land. It's just awsome.
