    Music by The Moody Blues
I woke up today, I was crying,
    Lost in a lost world.
    So many people are dying,
    Lost in a lost world.
Some of them are living an illusion,
Bounded by the darkness of their minds.
In their eyes it's nation against
    nation against nation,
    With racial pride.
    Sad hearts they hide
    Thinking only of themselves,
    They shun the light,
    (somehow they shun the light)
    They think they're right,
    (somehow they think they're right)
    Living in their empty shells.
Oh, can you see their world is crashing
(so many people, so many people)
    Crashing down around their feet
And angry people in the street,
Are telling them they've had their fill
    (so many people)
Of politics that wound and kill
    (so many people)
    Grow, the seeds of evolution
(so many people, so many people)
    Revolution never won
It's just another form of gun
To do again what they have done
(so many people, so many people)
With all our brothers, youngest sons.
(so many people, so many people)
    Everywhere you go you'll
    see them searching
Everywhere you turn you'll feel the pain
Everyone is looking for the answer
    Well look again.
    Come on my friend,
Love will find them in the end
Come on my friend, we've got to bend
On our knees and say a prayer.
Oh, can you feel the world is pining
(so many people, so many people)
Pining for someone who really cares
    Enough to share his love,
With all of us so we can be
    (so many people)
    An ever loving family.
    (so many people)
Oh, have you forgotten we're all children
(so many people, so many people)
    Children from a family tree
    That's longer than a centipede
And started long ago when you and I
(so many people, so many people)
    Were only love--
(so many people, so many people)
I woke up today, I was crying,
    Lost in a lost world,
    So many people are dying,
    Lost in a lost world.
So many people, so many people, people
    Lost in a lost world
So many people, so many people, people
    Lost in a lost world

Mike Pinder was the deepest of the deep - for me, the heart and soul of the Moody Blues. Thank you for this beautiful video compilation. This song is truer today than ever, it seems.Damn. Sometimes you just have to cry at the loss of all we could have been and how we could have treated each other and the beautiful planet earth.

Don't share this often. At 27 years old I had a nervous breakdown. It's never happened since but it was horrible. Lost tons of weight. Crying spells with no reason. Physically very weak. Hard to function. My family was freaking out. I asked my doctor what would be the worst that could happen. He told me I could die. I didn't want that. I prayed for God to heal. He gave me Seventh Sojourn. I listened over and over again for weeks. Though I was never suicidal this album saved my life as I was losing the physical battle. Weight dipped to 130. Today I am 69 and weigh twice that. 6 kids. 12 grandkids. An incredible wife of 42 years. The Moody Blues have no idea what they've done for this world. Thanks for listening.

    So many people
    So many people
    So many people....
From Mike’s mellotron to Justin’s perfectly nuanced guitar to John and Graham’s rhythm
    To the gut wrenching lyrics
This song is perfection. But it’s the background harmony throughout the song that pierces my soul.

This song should be one of the most well known Moody Blues songs. It simple message is a warning. If there are going to some plays based on some Moody Blues song, this song should be one of the first opening songs. One of the songs in the same play is the more well known "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock-n-Roll Band." Due to what has been happening in the 2020, this song should be play more on the air. For many of its words are haunting even in these trouble times.

I woke up today, I was crying
    Lost in a lost world
'Cause so many people are dying
    Lost in a lost world
Some of them are living an illusion
Bounded by the darkness of their minds
In their eyes it's nation against nation, against nation
    With racial pride
    Sad hearts they hide
    Thinking only of themselves
    They shun the light
    (shun the light)
    They think they're right
    (think they're right)
    Living in their empty shells
(some live in the empty shells)
Oh, can you see the world is crashing
(so many people, so many people)
    Crashing down around their feet
    Angry people in the street
(so many people, so many people)
Are telling them they've had their fill
Of politics that wound and kill
    Grow the seeds of evolution
(so many people, so many people)
    Revolution never won
It's just another form of gun
(so many people, so many people)
To do again what they have done
With all our brothers' youngest sons
(so many people, so many people)
Everywhere you go you see them searching
Everywhere you turn you feel the pain
Everyone is looking for the answers
    Well, look again
    Come on my friend
Love will find them in the end
    Come on my friend
    (on my friend)
    We've got to bend
    (got to bend)
On our knees and say a prayer
Oh, can you feel the world is pining
(so many people, so many people)
Pining for someone who really cares
    Enough to share
His love with all of us
(so many people, so many people)
    So we can be
    An ever loving family
Have we forgotten we're all children
(so many people, so many people)
    Children from a family tree
    That's longer than a centipede
And started long ago when you and I
    Were only love
(so many people, so many people)
I woke up today, I was crying
    Lost in a lost world
    So many people are dying
    Lost in a lost world
So many people, so many people
People lost in a lost world
So many people, so many people
People lost in a lost world

Not entirely a protest album (For My Lady definitely doesn't fall into that category), but the theme is there, especially in Mike's songs (but John is just a singer in a rock and roll band).

Many thanks for this well-done video. It's one of my favorite tunes by Mike Pinder (and The Moody Blues). This tune has remained with me ever since I first heard it back in the 70s. I recall that I watched a TV news broadcast (war and subsequent death) and then I played this tune for the very first time. For some reason, I believe that mankind's dominion over this planet will be over soon. Even so, come quickly Lord Christ!

It's late 2018 and I have no hope left for humanity. The wise good elders are fading away to time. My generation and the future ones are surely doomed as is evidenced in their behaviors, attitudes, and even their "culture". I'm 16 and sometimes I feel resentment for being aware of everything and sometimes wish I was as blind as the rest of my generation. The elites have already got a firm grip on the whole world, the wise elders are too outnumbered to push the hand away, and the new generations are doing nothing to push away it's crushing grip nor even learning about it's very existence. The only thing us knowledgeable People can do is pray and wait for the return of Christ if he decides to even save any of us, which I wouldn't blame him if he didn't. Just look at ourselves, do us humans, being the barbaric, inhumane, and greedy savages we are, deserve to be saved? Especially when we knowingly turn a blind eye to every bit of salvation and knowledge? No, we are truly doomed. The old are fading. The new generations aren't opening their eyes or minds. And it's all because of our own doing. Refusing to even see the truth, much less accept it. Giving in to vices and sinful nature without a care in the world, finding any and every excuse to justify it.
Another song that is similar is Humanity by Scorpions, it's truly sad but true.

    • @cosmo1eleven855
      @cosmo1eleven855 5 лет назад +1

Don't give up hope. I know things look real bleak out there. The Moody Blues were in the beginning stages of the Shift in Consciousness that's happening. Some changes are embryonic in their beginnings. You are young, keep that torch going. Make it your life's purpose to enlighten the younger folks like yourself who don't know what we're up against. Some will ridicule you, but others will be receptive. Eventually the tide is going to turn to a new Rennaisance. Keep on keepin; on man!

"Lost in a Lost World" really brought back (not so good) memories to me...hard to let go but music is a time machine and won't dispell memories as it's eternal in it's ability to last.
