- I'm finally done with this thing! Well, done enough to list and send to someone else. Still has a lot of work to get it "finished", but it's a great start for someone else. I have plenty of other bikes and projects to keep me busy. This thing is now starting easy and running great. I had no intentions of restoring or perfecting this one. It's a crusty old chopper that should be treated as such. I just gave it potential for a longer life. She's listed "negotiable" locally, and now its the buy it or I'll keep riding it until it sells.

It's not hard to tell that you love what you're doing, keep up the good work and ride safe out there ✊
Thanks! It was quite an educational journey, but you are right. If you enjoy what you do the time doesn't matter nearly as much.
"Talk to people, be nice " words of wisdom ! Man thanks to you now i'm hitting up Fb marketplace everyday looking for ironhead bike ,lol Be safe man . Guy Speight
Appreciate the feedback! It's worked for me so far. Thanks for watching!
Getting closer! I still think you need to bump that idle speed screw up 1/2 - 3/4 turn in on cold starts. Thats the only way mine started cold.
I usually do have to bump it up a tiny bit when she lights off. It doesn't like the enrichener (too rich) and is a bit cold blooded for the first minute or so. Thanks for watching!
@@WrenchingWrecked i always turned mine up before i even started live kicking. I would do 1-2 primers, idle speed screw in that 1/2-3/4 turn then kick with key on and no choke. Raising that slide the tiniest bit like that allowed it to fire and idle off the bat vs it puttering a few revs and then dying while trying to twist the throttle.
@@justinbooth489 yeah i run a mikuni on my ironhead and shovelhead. unfortunately yeah you have to raise the idle and lower it after it warms up. kinda annoying with gloves on haha.
Swap meet bike turned out pretty good! Wouldn't mind having that old ironhead myself!!!!
It’s for sale!!
Lol I could not explain another bike to my wife right now...lol
I know exactly what that feels like!
Get another harley from a swap meet or somewhere I really enjoy these old harly videos
Always looking. Once I get the sporty back together, I'll probably be digging into my 79 superglide. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
@@WrenchingWrecked absolutely
@WrenchingWrecked and I definitely don't mind sporty videos lol I have a 94 883
If you're looking for a quick getaway.... this bike isn't it..😅. At least we know it's getting fuel. Clean your points .
Agreed. Points are brand new. Just needs a tiny float adjustment now or another inch bend up on the kickstand. Thanks for watching!
If you get off n actually KICK it it’ll probably start first kick every time. Looks like you’re just standing on the kicker waiting for it to go down. Grandma can kick harder n she gots no legs!
Prove it!! 😂
Mag or not, they shouldn't need a kamikaze kick to get 'em going. Especially on old kicker sporties. I'll side kick my shovelheads all day, but the slipping starter gear on the old sporties has sent me to the ground enough times. I like my knees.
@@WrenchingWrecked yeah man just giving ya sh*t, they are a bit tricky sometimes. Had my fair share of kicker related knee injuries. Keep up the good work , be lookin for the next episode.
Why is the rear shock, tire, fender look like a dirt bike? Get smaller shocks or struts? 🤷 Dope bike🤟
I agree! If I were keeping it, I would address that. The fender's raised up, the tires too small, and the shocks are too long. I think some 10" solid struts and a old style tire would fit in there much better.
I’ve asked a couple times you seem to be pretty slick with the powder coating. Trying to find out if motor oil powder over chrome or polished aluminum looks like black chrome. I appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks bud you take care and stay safe.
Still not quite sure what ya mean by that. Any of the candy colors will lay out really nice over polished or chrome, they're basically just tinted clears. Candy black, or black chrome options are also available. I would think if it was a oil colored powder, they'd be closer to the gold side of the color spectrum. There are a few black chrome powders out there now too, but they tend to be a bit more like a dark grey in my experience.
Where can I get one of those double axe sissy bars?
I'll look into it for ya.
👍😎👍.
