  • Incredible! Quick breakfast ready in a few minutes! Today we are going to make best Ukrainian breakfast. In Ukraine we called it Syrniki - Ukrainian Cheese Pancakes

    Syrniki Recipe (Ukrainian Cheese Pancakes)
    500 g cottage cheese or you could use well-drained ricotta cheese.
    2 large eggs
    1 tbsp sugar
    3 tbsp semolina or you could use all purpose flour
    a pinch of salt
    Mix everything together so that the ingredients are well combined but try not to over-mix
    Dust a clean work surface with some flour.
    shape into thick pancakes
    preheat oil in a large pan over medium heat
    Cook on medium-low heat for about 4-5 minutes
    until each side is golden brown
    Serve with sour cream or a jam of your choice

    I’d lived in Ukraine for 7 years,with local nannies cooking skilled, no one ever shaped Syrniki like that. It’s new for me. Thanks for sharing.

      Shape to preference, I've usually had them thicker but not always.

      Both, depending on the topping. I'd go bacon, fried onion and sour cream with a dash of cold cottage cheese on the side. And salt.

      Lol even the name is Ukrainian, in their language it would be some tvorozhniki or whatever, but they call it by Ukrainian word
