A tip for drilling and tapping drain plugs is tape a air gun to the end of the crank case vent and use a zip tie to have it blow a little bit of air through the case and then when you drill and tap it just use a little grease and it will blow the shaving back out at you and have no chance of going in the case
I got this one through Rocky Mountain ATV for around $420. I would have been able to use an aftermarket pump for $50 had the entire assembly been damaged due to old ethanol fuel.
just came across this video, I have the same EXACT quad. only difference is I have a twin brothers pipe on mine. such a sick quad. I also have a Honda TRX 450. Kick start fell off when I tried to kick start it, been trying to learn how to fix quads to help my dad out. Any clue on how to put it back on?
Also, I have revived several pumps and hundreds of carbs and even fuel injectors by simply using a large ultrasonic cleaner. Just something to think about for the future.
I have an ultrasonic cleaner but this one was probably beyond repair. I didn’t want to take a chance of another failure on the trails especially if my wife was riding it.
I have the same EXACT quad, only difference is, I have a twin brother pipe on it (and paddle tires). I also have a 2005 Honda TRX, kick start fell off and im not sure how to put it back on. Im trying to learn how to fix these things so my dad doesn't have to. Any ideas on how to put it back together ?
Hey man I’m having issues with mine!!! I accidentally stalled mine out the other day, I have a brand new battery, solenoid, and starter, I hear the fuel pump prime and the quad gets power. It won’t crank at all when I hit the starter button, could you help point me in the right direction?

Wow. The fuel pump assemblies are near 500$. Tough to keep them running at that price. Looks like a nice machine. Great video!

@@restoroosterohv yeah that’s a great site. When I had my Honda 450 I ordered a waterpump thru them and a rear carrier bearing. Good website for sure.

I have some questions I have a 2009 kfx450r? It cranks like yours but don’t have spark or fuel
First thing I would do is check your stator windings.
Thank u so much i have same issue i did same what u did but im trying order but everything around 450$ did u have any link with good price
Unfortunately not…unless you can find someone parting one out, best case is get it new like I had to. I got mine from Rocky Mountain ATV.
@@restoroosterohv thank u so much for ur help

What is your fuel pressure with 12 volts applied to the green (capacitor) connector?

Yes, my email address is RestoroosterOHV@gmail.com
Brilliant keep it up
Thank you
You should show the test drives.
I wish I could. There is nowhere super close to me to ride so I don’t always have the time before the video is scheduled to come out.
Nice quad it would be nice to compare it to a LTR450
They are all similar but what stands apart with the KFX is that it has reverse
@@restoroosterohv yup and I think the ltr has better suspension stock
Put some VP fuel in it, it will smell great!
Too expensive for my blood, haha
Why didn't spend two minutes with some carb cleaner instead of complaining about the smell?
I guess I was trying to convey to the audience how stale the fuel was since they are unable to smell it.
