I know! The entire scene I was yelling at the guy with the spear to get in there and help the troglodyte. There were so many missed opportunities where a second spearman would have quickly ended it.
To think of all the creatures Sinbad and his crew has faced so far, the most dangerous was a giant saber-tooth tiger. It still pisses me off that they took so long to try and help Troglodyte with that fight, it was like they were waiting for him to die.
So much nostalgia, but it still pisses me off that they didn't help Trog and that the writer killed off Trog. I wish they made it where he survived after getting help from Sinbad and his crew and farewelled them watching as they left before leaving to live out the rest of his life probably even explore the temple more out of curiosity with Minoton's spear as his new weapon. In the Sinbad films that Ray Harryhausen was a part of, ALL of the good and friendly monsters were killed off which pissed me off especially since when it came to the Griffin it lost to the Centaur after the main antagonist slashed its leg allowing the Centaur to strangle the female monster which absolutely made me mad and yell out of rage. I wish the Griffin had won and watched Sinbad battle the bad guy and left back to her den/lair letting Sinbad and his crew do what they did and leave whilst the Griffin went to rest to once again protect the area. The film caught my eye and when I saw Troglodyte which Sinbad and the others called/named Trog it made it even better for me. Because when he first appears it makes it seem like he was a bad guy, but then the man with the long beard explains that Troglodytes were the ancestors of humans and were gentle towards women and friendly. After they befriended him he escorted them to the temple, even opening the door/gate for them. When he saved Sinbad and the others and battled the Smilodon(which was possessed by the soul of the witch) I was cheering for him. Until I got traumatized seeing him get killed by the Smilodon sinking its canines into him. I was sad, and made a paper cutout of Trog out of respect for him, especially since he entered the temple to protect his friends, who didn't even help him until it was too late for him.
