really happy to see you focusing on devices with local control and helping to educate users about the dangers of not controlling the devices they purchase (or the proprietary apps they rely on).
As a plus, Costco is also starting to sell Eve devices. I ordered the motion sensor to test and explore. It'll be my first Thread/Matter device. Thanks for the informative video.
Thanks for the video and introducing us to Eve. I will be keeping and eye on their products! I think a video talking about "thread" and all the other communication protocols is needed here. Also maybe talk about what devices can and can't be jammed with a WiFi jammer since they are become more prevalent.
The plug seems a bit bulky compared to other zigbee ones, and way pricier. I like the outlet though with two separate controls, and price seems reasonable.

Nice! Wish we had Costco where I live. Thanks for the feedback!

When did eve start showing power usage over matter? I thought that was HomeKit exclusive
Not sure! But it's great!

Yeah, a bit bulkier. I do like the power monitoring, but other non thread devices are cheaper
I see that tastefully scrambled rubiks cube
Mmm. Haven't had a minute to solve it. Although it's more like 5 min these days
Not sure I get the appeal of eve. Local only is just as possible using the other protocols like zigbee and wifi 😀
That's true! I think the appeal is homekit compatibility
Privacy went out the window when you said apple.
I don't follow. Aren't they known for their focus on privacy?
Just like Zigbee forever...
What?
