This visit to Indonesia is short but many people have not seen my older Indonesia videos and I have made so many! But we are planning to spend much more time in Indonesia in 2025 as there are some islands I want to visit but Alan also needs to research some things before because Sulawesi is challenging for transportation and we need to keep costs low.
@@ojiramakopo7338 i have been five or six times unfortunately if you don’t live near a train the traffic is terrible. Gojek can only go as fast as the traffic.
Ah! Jakarta Metropolitan Area (Jabodetabek) 34 million people Live In an area of the same size of state Delaware . And there are 2 volcanoes just 40 miles south of Jakarta.
Awe, Aloy! Please say HI to him from a sub, Me! You guys actually make me laugh out loud...lol! Poor Alan😳. Ice cream is a great cure for firemouth...😂
I will! Aloy is so fantastic we always want to spend a night to catch up with him and eat of course. I could not believe Alan found it so spicy, it’s so rare for him to say anything is spicy
Jakarta looks so modern, it is great you are visiting these countries and showing us they are not "backwards" like before. And yes, Jakarta is sinking and yes I believe they are moving the government offices to another location. It is the problem with massive population growth, a growing city, and depleting groundwater.
It’s tough because I love traditional food and they aren’t always in the most modern places but I’m trying to show more of both sides to give a full picture.
Am i late to watch this one after you uploaded about a week ago? Anyway welcome again in Alan’s home country and this time you two in Capital City, near from my hometown!
Oh really I didn’t know that! In West Sumatra they don’t have anything so that the small locally owned businesses can survive. I can also respect that.
you should take the airport train to central Jakarta ... BNI City or Sudirman station ... from there you can take the MRT to Blok M or Blok A station .. then take a taxy to Kemang ... it is nearby ... Grab taxy maybe not more than 30 thousand rupiah .....
Selemat Pagi A & A, love the video with Aloy in Jakarta eating with you & Allan sate gambing! Stayed in Jakarta many times, never knew where i was & visited museums: Wayang & Textile & then took the bus to Bali. Congested, sinking Jakarta is moving to Nusantara, east Kalimantan in Borneo. Probably just the Indonesiangovernment but the city will remain.Train 2 Yogya or Bandung? Do they still have becaks in Jakarta? Nice hotel in Kemang. How do you know where to stay. Terima kasih..💙My favorite big city in Asia is Tokyo. Will you go? Love 2 know the type of train u are taking 2 your city in Java. Always like traveling by train in Java. Now there is panoramic train.
They do still have pedicabs! If I didn’t know Aloy I wouldn’t spend any time in Jakarta, it’s just so difficult to get around. So Tokyo is on our list and actually South Korea too but we’re trying to save money as Alan’s visa situation for Canada is still up in the air and as he needs to show his bank account history we don’t want to risk going somewhere that will deplete the account. But we will get there eventually. Indonesians now have chips in their passports so they can go to Japan for ten days visa free. South Korea is another hurdle but we just need patience.
@@ayngelina Thought Jakarta has a monorail like Singapore. Stopped in Jakarta as a transit place & was always overwhelmed. Tokyo brought tears with their subway system. I sat down on the stairs at Shinjuku station & cried with my suitcase. At least in Indonesia, people will help u navigate. Didn't know Canada requires $ but looks like $2500 CAN. Looking forward 2 Korea, fastest internet in the world, easy 2 navigate. Use 2 have a friend from Canada who worked here w/o papers & would travel by bus from CA 2 NY then 2 Ontario. She made costumes & sold them online. Hope Allan gets 2c Canada & beyond. Hot here & tired of sunscreen! Take care. Your Amazing!
So Jakarta’s transit wasn’t well thought out. They do have a train system but it’s not all over the city so unless you’re in the south and want to go central or vice versa it’s not so useful. If we had taken one from the airport it would have required a couple changes and finally a taxi. So 200k for the convenience of door to door is worth it. And I wish Canada only required 2500 but he showed them he had much more and they said no. It’s a long story but hopefully someday I can share it here with a happy ending.
@@ayngelina Guess, one cannot go by the website but saw how Canada/US requires biometrics from certain countries. No wonder people skip the process. Travel must be so different now. Train sounds like a hassle & 200K rupiah(13US) is worth it. Thanks 4 video. The days of spontaneous travel is over & planning is ever so important, which country, easiest route, etc. KL looks the best in Asia becuz of transportation, visas & flights. Use 2 fly into Singapore but those days are gone with high prices($550 USrt). I was lucky in Sumatra/Indonesia with people inviting me 2 their home as a solo traveler.
Yes he has his biometrics and thankfully they are good for ten years and valid for a number of countries. I flew into Singapore last time and took a cheap discount airline to KL but getting from Asia to the Americas is just a long and expensive journey overall. But worth it!
Nikah Indonesia,, suara bule cantik,,, semangat Indonesia,, suara Bumi bule
Terima Kasih!
Glad you are back to Jakarta, this time please visit more area in Indonesia.
We are just here for a few weeks but have been talking about Sulawesi in the new year with some other areas we haven’t decided yet. Any suggestions?
Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara
Is East Nusa expensive?

If you have time, you may visit surabaya to try "sate klopo". That is in different level, even from the ones from jakarta, i think.
