Sedap, enak and lezat are synonim in Indonesia language btw.. Happy to see this content because Indonesia has so many foods that u can't find in others country ❤
But nowadays people mostly only use sedap for the smell/aroma not for the taste 😁 for the taste we mostly use enak or we would just use mantap for everything good 😁
As an Australian with Indonesian heritage, sedap was used alot by my mum who grew up in Bogor (2hrs south of Jakarta). I am not an expert in indonesian language but definitely heard this word used in every day vocabulary.
Actually sedap is also Indonesian, lezat is more Arabic adaptation from laziz or لذة (ladhatan), basically there're tons of words in Indonesian to describe "delicious taste", there's nikmat, enak, nyaman (but this one commonly used for the environment/condition instead of food, but in some local dialect they use this one instead), etc. Basically Indonesian language is rooted from indo-malay languange family, so sedap is also part of Indonesian vocabulary. I understand that you're being careful here, but no worries, some Malaysians often being confused between their language and Indonesian's, where in fact as neighboring countries having a common word to describe something is not entirely something that you should upset about, well, yes sedap is a less common way to say "delicious" in Bahasa Indonesia, it considered as too formal because it's more common in the older era/generation because it's rooted form Melayu language (Melayu in here I mean the Melayu tribe that resides in Sumatera and Borneo), but nowadays people commonly use enak or lezat instead.
Hello Laurence, lemper is purely Indonesian snack and there is no influence from Dutch. Holland bakery is now selling Indonesian delicacy to diverse their merchandise. Indonesian delicacy also known as Jajanan Pasar such as lemper, bika ambon, lapis talas etc.
Laurence has good intentions to introduce Indonesian food, but he also has to dig up information about the food, so he can give correct information about the food.
Lemper didn't get influenced by Dutch. Instead, it influenced Dutch cuisine because after colonization it become popular in Netherlands and they adopted it to become Indonesian-Dutch snack in Netherlands
Sedap is an Indonesian word too, it's a synonim for "enak" as well. There's even an Indonesian noodle brand called "Mie Sedaap" which is the rival of Indomie, but not many foreigners know about it. There are several vocabs in both Indonesian and Malaysian that are exactly the same.
Sedap, Enak, Lezat, Nikmat, etc are in Indonesian vocabulary, and commonly used. Like, Mie Sedap is Indonesian product. Anything in the scope of Indonesia or have history in it, is Indonesian - Melayu included.
FYI Bugis is one of ethnic in Sulawesi. If you wondering how you called Sulawesi people, just say "Sulawesi People." because there is no word to describe them due to a lot of ethnic in Sulawesi.
10:50 I died 🤣 Btw love to see you here Harry.... big fan of you Edited : next time please give the participants Tahu Gimbal from Semarang it's soooo good !
Lemper is Traditional Indonesian Snacks made from Sticky Rice and shredded chicken with some spices and coconut milk wrapped in banana leaves and Steamed or grilled ...❤
holland bakery's lemper dkk & semua kueh"nya syedaaapp niaaan! indonesians don't eat banana leaf, guys🤣 lak lak mah serupa kek lupis & klepon kalo di jawa😁😋 sulawesi not only bugis tribe but many tribes there😃
Actually laklak like lupis in central java Semua daerah di jawa tengah punya jajanan pasar yg namanya "lupis" Bahan2 & cara penyajiannya sama cm beda nama aja yg beda
Wooahh.. so sorry Laurence.. i think you've heard harsh words from some netizens that you're being so careful about saying things.. from the words you've mentioned before i don't think that you're supposed to be cancelled.. thank you so much for introducing Indonesian food to the world Laurence, really appreciate that...
Mas laurennce,di indonesia ada beribu jenis makanan kuliner tradisional.baik jenis sayuran yg di makan campur nasi atau jenis kue/makanan ringan.yg mas laurennce tau baru sedikit.
Thats "lupis", tiwul, cenil, klepon from java indonesia. Not from bali. Try otak-otak with different test of peanut souce, asinan bogor, ketoprak , karedok, onde-onde, bolen, gandasturi and balok cake so many food in indonesia.

Most Malaysian indeed say sedap or they usually pronounce it sodaap, , but it is also used in Indonesia. So you don't need to be affraid to get cancelled on this 😄
As an Indonesian, I don't think you will get canceled just by saying "sedap" since we sometimes use that word too. 😅 Enak, sedap, and lezat are synonymous words in Indonesian language (because the root of our language is Melayu/Malay language) that mean delicious/tasty. I can only confirm that you will get canceled for sure if you were stating any Indonesian dish as Malaysian. 🤣🤣
setau saya, lemper benar2 asli indonesia, mungkin Jawa Tengah.banyak orang2 Jawa Tengah suka ketan. tidak ada pengaruh dari Belanda. holland bakery adalah nama toko roti.itu saja.
Sedap, enak and lezat are synonim in Indonesia language btw.. Happy to see this content because Indonesia has so many foods that u can't find in others country ❤
But nowadays people mostly only use sedap for the smell/aroma not for the taste 😁 for the taste we mostly use enak or we would just use mantap for everything good 😁
The term sedap and lezat are used on commercial, news, and etc. Both are rarely used in colloquial language.
As an Australian with Indonesian heritage, sedap was used alot by my mum who grew up in Bogor (2hrs south of Jakarta). I am not an expert in indonesian language but definitely heard this word used in every day vocabulary.

lemper's texture is meant to be soft and chewy like mochi, include the filling

It’s okay to use “sedap” in indonesia , sedap is also bahasa indonesia 😊 , but we use “enak” more often
5:15 Pancong, so Laklak is a Balinese version of it.
Maybe we can modify the contents of the lemper food. Like the filling inside, we can add chopped rendang meat or maybe grilled meat 🤤
Most Malaysian indeed say sedap or they usually pronounce it sodaap, , but it is also used in Indonesia. So you don't need to be affraid to get cancelled on this 😄
