I don't think I'm concerned about the same this as you (prepping) but I really enjoyed a bunch of your videos this weekend. You are a good dad. I love to see you involving your girls, and keeping that relationship steady, as they enter their difficult years. My adult sisters really appreciate that our dad did this with them. The jokes are great.
If you don't like ladders, I recommend the 6' Harbor Freight scaffold. I got one for a big project, and now I use it for a LOT of things. Soo much better standing on a platform vs. a ladder, by a factor of a thousand.
WE ORDERED ONE!! We love the look of the Amish made cottage greenhouse and can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for featuring this kit - we felt like it was a perfect fit for us!
Wow that was amazing. I am really impressed by who quick and somewhat straightforward approach on building this thing. I have read so many feedbacks for different greenhouses that complained about the instructions and how difficult it was to put together. I have been so apprehensive on buying a greenhouse because I have yet to find one that does not have issues building it. God knows I am not handy or patient..Thanks for this. Love watching your videos..
Great job on the build, to you and your family. I just love to see when the whole family participates. I also love the humor that goes with it. Again, great job.
I just noticed that the sheds I was looking at are just the pre-cut lumber, not the pre-assembled panels. The pre-assembled panels are much more expensive.
@MAGAMAN - I’m not sure where you’re shopping, but HD has 10x12 wooden sheds for less than half the $5-7k for one of these sheds. Multiple options for $2,500.
48 and on my own (with this type of project). Hubby is a photographer/graphic designer and a darn good one but has almost zero handyman skills. Now, my dad had me (and sibs) working with some tools on small projects so I understand everything your doing. However, to do it myself? Oy!! It’d take me all summer!!!
Just ran across this video and it's great, I'd love to do this. Wouldn't there be a concern of the wood rotting at the foundation without it sitting on concrete or something like that?
My life philosophy is, "If I can't reach it from the ground, I ain't doin' it." So kudos fo you, fellow heights fearer. You were braver than I ever would be.
I just love your videos & your family makes them more enjoyable! You should have your own show on HGTV. Seriously- you do this stuff without being boring. Thank y’all for making learning how to DYI fun 👍😅💕 #HGTV
Heads up...If you're in a zone that gets below freezing make sure you have electricity in your greenhouse to run a heater in the winter and fans to let out super hot temps in the warmer months.
+1 for the robertson bit... -1 for also adding the philips compatibility to it, I bet the screw doesn't stay on the bit because of that like it does with a real robertson
Very entertaining video. You have a fun, light hearted marketable personality. Awesome job on the greenhouse. This will bring you many years if enjoyment. Keep up the good work.
@drippingwax I am either going to buy a slightly larger kit or design something similar with my dad. He has done very similar construction his whole life, and this sort of thing would be a breeze for him to build from scratch... I am going to have an outdoor drum room/ greenhouse where I can record drums and also take care of plants, and also get some sun... it would have to be larger than the one in this video, I'll be sure to document the whole process once I get started. 👍
@drippingwax oh, really? Snap! What kinds of rigor did you have to find within yourself to keep going when the challenges were most confronting you? That sounds like a healthy challenge to overcome, but I'm just speculating. 👍
@@lunarfifthstudios For example, I locked myself in my room on Mother's Day so that Mom and I would not argue for just 24 hours. I built the greenhouse for her, with permission, and I am positive that she changed her mind before I finished. She has a terrible track record for either telling me to stop when I am almost finished or saying "It doesn't work" and refusing to use something. The garage is full of things either she told me or she gave me permission to buy and then refused to use. Regarding the greenhouse build, people said that you can use plastic drop cloths for a while, but they will wear out eventually. The wind tore ours apart in 3 days--and they cost $20 each! I think that screwing down furring strips instead of stapling the edges would have worked vastly better, since it failed where I stapled it. I bought proper greenhouse material, which is thicker, reinforced, and UV-treated, but decided that I wanted something more rigid to resist the wind. I bought 48 in. x 96 in. x 0.157 in. (4mm) Clear Corrugated Twinwall Plastic Sheet (10-Pack) panels from Home Depot. Everyone said would they work okay, just slowly yellow over a few years. The front and roof disintegrated within months, even though I UV-treated them. I replaced the roof with Tuftex Multi-Wall 6mm Panel Clear 4-ft x 8-ft Corrugated Clear Polycarbonate Plastic Roof Panel from Lowe's. Bob of I Like to Make Stuff and other RUclipsrs used to build greenhouses. They worked, but cost as much as the 10 panels from Home Depot. Then, over the next 18 months, the Home Depot panels continued to disintegrate, and Mom refused to use the greenhouse that I built her, with permission, complained, and ordered me to tear it down. I am not going to spend several hundred more to replace the remaining panels on a greenhouse Mom refuses to use, so I removed the side panels, and the Tuftex panel on the roof gouged my eye and I needed to go to the E.R. Everything is down in price, but the Tuftex panels are $61.36 each and one of the more popular choices, and you don't need to buy 10, like with the Home Depot ones. They work great, just make sure you cut the roof pretty flush. I put on a face shield when I removed the rest of the siding.
I learnt a lot today. Watching that level do its job, just asks more questions 🤔🤔 If you built it in space on the moon, would the bubble be accurate.. huh Love it, inspiring build.

So the secret to building a shed in a day is buy prefab, have a digger and take two days. 😂

Right?! This is my favorite comment 😂
Well he was procrastinating. First he assembled a team from scratch before he started this greenhouse.
A real Green House not these plastic pipe and clear plastic that won't last in the hot sun 🌞.73
