You get more brownie points than literally every other car review channel for actually showing BOTH ends of the spectrum fitting in this car. 👏👏 even the best channels rarely show actual David’s and goliaths fitting in the car. Also that heartfelt ending was really good. Your channel is criminally underrated, and I hope that you find good ways to manage your anxiety, it’s never easy but with support from friends you can get through anything

hey Zack, first video of yours I have watched. i appreciate you talking about your anxiety so candidly. This is something many people suffer with in one way or another, but many of us feel alone and isolated in our struggles. Hearing from others and knowing that your anxiety in not strange, is not some defect or oddity, is important. You are using your platform well. Your video was informative, fair and entertaining, and I hope you continue to make many more reviews in the future. I think the comparison of a very short driver vs. a very tall driver is unique, and not something I have seen in other reviews. As my daily driver, the turn signal is infuriating - it is the only thing I wish I could change. You didn't touch on it, but unplugging the fake engine noise from behind/below the glove box is a nice daily driver enhancement, especially if you listen to podcasts or audio books in the car. Keep on keeping on my dude.

Man it feels like the last time I noticed your sub count it was in the 50k’s and that feels like yesterday 😂. Your channel is growing and you deserve it. From reviewing the most bland everyday cars (which I adore) to cool cars, you knock it out of the park every single time. These little end pieces were you get a bit more personal is the reason you’re the only RUclips I have notifications on for. You actually connect to the people your make your content for. From opening up about your anxiety to your piece on your trip to St. Augustine, you remind me that you’re not just a celeb behind a screen but an actual normal person. Cheers from Wisconsin buddy. Hope to have something for you to review in the near future!!

Zack, I have struggled with anxiety for years basically since my 20s which have included multiple hospital stays. It got so bad back in 2019 that I ended up hospitalized about 5 different times. I realized at that point that I could no longer avoid dealing with this problem. I shared what I was going through with a female friend on Facebook and she asked if I had heard of CBD oil. A friend of hers happened to sell it and to say it was lifechanging would be an understatement. My anxiety and panic attacks are basically gone. I also decided my family should know about what I had been living with and if you have not told them yet I would encourage you to do so. For years I hid this condition out of embarrassment but as it turned out they were very understanding. I hope you find a way to cope with it like did.

Kudos to you brother, you always provide amazing in-depth reviews of cars new and old, and I respect the hell out of you for that, there’s often times I learn about an obscure car and go right to your channel to find another great video. Thank you for being open and honest with your audience, it means a lot man, from one Zack to another, you are not alone, I have struggled with anxiety and depression for a greater part of my life, with this week being especially hard for me, so hearing you come out and express what you’ve been going through means a lot, just know you’re not alone in this struggle, I hope you can find ways to manage and control your anxiety, there’s usually no one surefire fix to it, but stay strong and look for the positives in life, no matter how small or how hard it is to find them sometimes. Keep up the great work brother, much love from 🇨🇦

I hope you get through everything you’re going through. Thank you for your honest review.

Interesting. Idk about you but Something tells me that cars have it own aesthetic image and “vibe”.
Like, for example, if I truly want a Corolla/Civic with all the belts and whistles because I like reliability and technology, I learned that both are still labeled as appliance no matter what price point it gonna be.
So yeah money can’t buy happiness.

Dude I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis with having anxiety. Thanks for sharing with us. I sheaded a tear cause I hurt and it kinda made me think of myself. Sometimes I wonder if I have anxiety cause sometimes when something big is about to happen I get rather nervous myself. Not so much so to where I throw up, but I still get pretty nervous like on my first day at the new shop this past Monday. I eas kinda nervous. However I was able to complete the jobs my boss gave me like I normally would be able too. I do hope things get better for you man. Honestly from watching you so much your one of my favorite RUclipsrs as of late. Your very relatable and your videos feel very down to earth and funny too. I think your a great RUclipsr and you seem like the kinda guy that if I ran into omyou out in the wild you'd dab me and and be a pretty chill dude to hang with. I wish the best to your future man, your a great guy.

I still miss that car, and her pop up headlights, squishy thin rim leather wheel. She had no radio, was a bit of a rusty lemon, but gave me lots of joy over 4 years i had her. Sadly had to sell her. Car i have now doesnt give me as much joy or connection. Small Fraction of it at best...

I have about 200 miles on my 2023 BRZ.
I find the visibility to be good. Much better than most sports cars and about average for a typical sedan.
I anticipated being frustrated with the turn signals. I was hoping they would have fixed it after the first year. I found them easy to adapt to.
As a bigger person, I have no problem with the seats. Tough getting down into the car. Feels like you are sitting below ground level.
The suspension is firmer than anyone who is looking for a "Sporty" car and not necessarily a "Sports Car" would be happy with but knowing that it is a true sports car it is perfect.

This video nails it if you’re going to be buying one of these.

Its not the end of the world but when you think that this car will be yours for the next few years or so, would you want to deal with that? nah I am good. Overall comfort for me is like 6.5/10. 19:40 If you want to buy a GR86, you can. Currently, there are dozens to hundreds of manual transmission Subaru BRZ’s that are being sold at MSRP or below MSRP. They are just sitting there unsold and rotting on dealership lots, just like the Manual Subaru WRX and Manual Acura Integra A-Spec. Which is interesting because the Honda Civic Si and Toyota GR86 are still going for above MSRP at some greedy dealers.

Great fuel economy on the highway I found myself getting better gas millage than my crosstrek on usual trips. I also bought the limited trim and it has an amazing sound system.
I brake a lot and it has prius brake pads so do what you will with that information you might want some better brake pads.

Biggest problem, YOU STILL CAN"T GET ONE! Every dealer I went to had none on the lot. The waiting list was 3-4 people deep and 6-9 months. You didn't get to order, you only got first refusal on what came in. The few lots that actually had inventory, tried to rip you off. ATL Toyota for example, (just 3 weeks ago 7/24/23) 2023 white GR86 Premium on the lot, Toyota website shows MSRP as $31,300k. They raised the MSRP to $34,500 on the paperwork and then added mandatory $7k paint protection film. Made the out the door price $44,500 after taxes and fees.
I've wanted one of these for the last 2+ years, finally said screw it and went and bought a loaded Grand Touring MX-5 soft top. Toyota and their dealers can go take a flying %&*@!

There's no reason for Toyota to have made this car, let alone the first generation, yet they did. I've always wanted one of these as a weekend car. It's too small and low-tech for me to be a daily driver. This is a car for blasting back roads without getting into trouble.
Toyota has been using that cruise control stick for decades. The turn signal stick is dumb, even more so because it looks like the stick Toyota has also used for decades. No one likes the spring-loaded turn signals. The window switches and heated seat switches are from Subaru. I think I like the first gen's styling more. I don't see why Subaru is using Honda Civic taillights on their cars.

I'm 100% planning to get the GR86 and put a roof rack. Although it looks like I'll have to get a seasucker roofrack because of the aluminum roof.

I didn't know the GR86 had turn signals like that. The Tesla Model 3 has the same problem and it's really annoying
to cancel your signal. Don't know why Subaru/Toyota decided to make a turn signal like that.

I have the same turn signal issue with my 2005 audi a4 cabriolet. So annoying.

The rear looks more like a Honda.
My fusion has that same type of turn signal. While I have largely gotten use to them over the past 9 years, I still hate them.

IIRC the BRZ includes a lot of the safety features that the GR86 doesn't have. So if one wants the safety features, the Subie twin is the better option for them.
Edit: only the automatic offers the additional safety equipment
