    Great video. The brightness trick is especially helpful as I spent a little time trying to find a quicker way than clicking the power icon in the taskbar and choosing adjust brightness there.

    Great tips. F key-Lock and the Home / End (Fn-Left/Fn-Right) is going to make my life so much easier in VS2013. Great tutorial - hope you make more. Perhaps one showing how to effectively use the SP3 as a note taking device in meetings or class. There is a dirth of training for this device.
    One suggestion - putting in labeled bookmarks on your tips would make it really helpful.
    Thanks for posting.

    (Alt+ Left Arrow) = BACK, (Alt+Right Arrow = FORWARD), very useful for websites and even the file explorer, to go back or forward to a previous folder. And this shortcut also works on any computer by the way... I discovered this one by accident one day. Nice video by the way and good tips.

    Great tips! I bet lots of people, including myself, thought the brightness controls on the keyboard weren't working.
    One question: is there a way to disable the touch pad? For example if you are using an external mouse and don't want to worry about your palms clicking it.
    Thanks!

    Nice tips.
    Though be carful about using non-powered usb splitters. They can drain your battery faster. Also while plugging in small-scale components such as video game controllers, flash drive or an optical mouse is fine; Heavy draw components like such as external hard drives and printers not only may not function improperly but could damage your Surface Pro 3 by drawing too many

    Hello there,
    Do you know if it's possible to power up from cable.. usb or other.. without to have to push the Surface power button ?
    (This is to warm up the Surface when it's inside a cab.)

    Thanks for the tips cbutters .
    Could you also make a video about how to use external DVD drives with the SP3? My Apple Superdrive does not work with it. Apparently SP3 USB does not have enough power for that. Any workarounds?

    • @cbutters
      @cbutters  10 лет назад +1

      Assuming there is no compatibility issue between your Apple Superdrive and windows, it sounds like you need to use a powered USB hub.

    Here's a stupid question... after you do the recovery drive, what do you do? does it automatically delete the info off your computer? or do you have to manually do it... How can i tell where the data was pulled off my hard drive?

    • @cbutters
      @cbutters  9 лет назад

      JD Franz creating a recovery drive and saying yes at the part of the processes that mentions removing the recovery partition from the computer can be verified by checking the size of C: drive before and after performing the process. Your C: drive will actually become effectively "larger" after removing the recovery partition.

      I'm sure even the i3 could run Minecraft, but the processors go up to i5 and i7. I saw another review where a guy played Titanfall with his surface, so again -- I'm sure minecraft would do just fine!
