    Chemical guys recommends using 2 good squeezes of the product with water. Once applied to the car you should use a microfiber wash mit and help apply the product better by wiping it on. Afterwards use a big microfiber towel or shammy to dry off the car. I usually do this because it helps apply an even more thick layer of the coating than just applying it on and washing it off

I think it’s best for well maintained and ceramic coated cars for a touch less, maintenance wash but can be used for bucket washes as well if needed. For really dirty cars, I’d go with something more aggressive.

    I know exactly how much to use , a little more than 3 squirts 😀, I understand this soap is for cleaning but what is it’s main purpose ? Is it a easy way to apply a ceramic type gloss and protection , maybe this should be used to coat the car after it’s clean to bond the ceramic better to the paint , what do you think ?

    • @hardyharhar801
      @hardyharhar801 3 года назад

      Its supposed to be a maintenance shampoo for a car that has a ceramic coating already applied. They dont specify how it works but if I had to make a guess I would its think a low-aggression soap that doesnt try to eat away at the ceramic coating you just paid so much to have done. I believe its meant to lift the dirt/residue off the ceramic coating while preserving/protecting the coating itself even further. How it preserves/protects the ceramic coating itself? No idea, they dont say. If the product works as advertised , logically I would think it adds another protective and/or hydrophobic coating that clings to ceramic coatings better than another wax/coating itself. Does it work how it should? I hope

    I have been using this soap for a while. It does clean pretty well, and it does foam decent. The biggest downside is the cost- and it is only available in the small containers - no gallon jugs for this one.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 года назад +1

      its the chemistry which drives up cost, same with my soap that offers far more cleaning action and is priced less. Usually new products are tested first in the market before gallons become avail but im sure if they did offer gallons it wont be cheap. thanks for posting your feedback with this product.

      @@autofanaticcars I use a lot of Griot's foaming poly gloss, after the wash. That stuff is so amazing, and is great for a maintenance spray. Hydroslik is the easiest ceramic to apply that I've used, and it is what I recommend for beginners as a ceramic base coat, because the risk of flash streaks is so low.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 года назад

      Poly Gloss is a good product but EXPENSIVE as hell and its just a gloss enhancer not a cleaner of any kind and you need to be careful applying it in a foam cannon if you overdo it the stuff oozes out of crevices and leaves residue all over the paint.

    If you’re going to test for dirt runoff, shouldn’t you start with a dirty vehicle? If you’re going to test the dirt runoff against other soaps, shouldn’t you start with comparable amounts of dirt, on similar vehicles, with similar types of dirt? The dirt in the foam on the asphalt appeared to be splashed up from the surface of the asphalt. And…what’s the connection between suds and cleaning/dirt run off?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  Год назад

      good soaps will activate whatever dirt is on the car especially the lower section and run off in the foam which is visible. cheap soaps offer zero self cleaning because of how their made but decent to good soaps do and this is my test procedure to see how well it works. If I used a very dirty car it would make it much harder to tell if the soap did the cleaning or the gravity from water from blasting the car with the foam cannon.

    Just a question with ‘foaming’ the car with these types of products. You foamed the car, rinsed and dried but you found areas that were still dirty. Does that mean you may need to foam and hand wash your car to be completely clean? Or are there other products that will get all the dirt.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 года назад

      it all depends the self cleaning is all in the protective barrier on the paint and how well it repels the dirt from bonding. most soaps offer little to no self cleaning from all the years of me testing soaps but if you have a good soap it will break up the dirt and whisk it away as I show in this video. not all cases lend itself to a touch less wash especially after driving in the rain a few days but otherwise a touch less wash works for most with ceramic coating and highly protective sealants.

    So I decided to give this a whirl on my 911 TTS. I too followed the instructions t the tee and watched the Chemical Guys videos to make sure I applied it correctly. The car has a coat of Rejex but I have never been satisfied with the beading, albeit it did have some beading. HydroSuds took any beading I had off the car entirely. In fact I think it probably does a better job than Chemical Guys Clean Slate! I will say that it did clean the car well though and it was pretty dirty. Anyway, I dried it all off then clay bared the paintwork. I then applied a coat of 303 Graphene Nano Spray. Man! is that stuff good. The beading is quite amazing and the paintwork feels silky smooth. The shine is like glass. I defo wont use HydroSuds again unless I need a Clean Slate 🤣🤣

      Yes due to the Covid Crisis Amazon is not shipping orders out anytime soon for non essential items. You can order directly from the Auto Fanatic website and we are still shipping the same day USPS Priority in most cases until stock runs out.

    I used this a couple time already I usually load up the cannon first with a little bit on of soap not as much as you used. Just 1 squirt will due the same amount of foam that came out of yours right their. I like the soap but I don’t do a touch less wash like you do

    Its a soap. NOT a snow foam/prewash. 'Soaps' or 'Shampoos' shouldn't really be judged on their cleaning ability. Try a dedicated snowfoam/prewash all you'll get far better results.

    Hard to tell how much is in the foam cannon reservoir, doesn't the reservoir have a scale up the side? Similar to Carpro Reset, it's not as runny as this but has no tint to it either.

    This was the exact soap that broke up my love affair with Chemical Guys. I bought it back when it first came out and my surface was less hydrophobic after the wash rinse than it was after the pre-wash rinse. It made me realize that it was no different than the other 10 Chemical Guys soaps that I had tried before it and was the awakening that Chemical Guys is more about marketing and less about substance. Since then I've found that the Turtle Wax ceramic wash (even at 1 ounce per gallon instead of their recommended 3) and Nanoskin's ceramic wash at 1 ounce per 3 gallons both work better than this soap. I also have the Mother's ceramic soap that I will be trying at a later date.

      @@autofanaticcars I'm also curious how much of that light dirt came off as a result of being rinsed with a power washer and less from the capabilities of the soap. It's tough to test since we foam cars prior to the rinse.

      i tend to always foam my cars dry when testing i rarely pre rinse the car and since my car in this video was driven through rain as the photos reveal what did come off with self cleaning was that stuck on dirt not just light dust. you should order a bottle of my soap to give it a try that is all i use to maintain my cars in show condition as it self cleans and adds the hydrophobic properties all in one step which is very hard to do with chemistry on most wash and wax type products.
