Remember watching this as a kid in the mid to late '80s on Betamax. The old man had left it laying around and I was up early one morning and stuck it on. Can't say it scared me but it certainly disturbed me for a bit.
I hate remakes as much as everyone else But if Sam Raimi directed a Re animator remake it would go hard asf,get Danny Elfman to do his own version of this and practical effects it would be amazing
Oddly entertaining theme and opening credits. Does this intro theme almost sound like belonging to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho? It did to me in some scenes, just more upbeat with a few more notes
Bernard Herrmann and Saul Bass did the score and opening titles for both Psycho and Vertigo, here the music sounds more Psycho, the visuals more Vertigo.
Messed up as it sounds, the opening Credits look reminiscent of the Opening Credits of Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Stuart Gordon created both these movies. Gives me the impression that Honey was meant to also be a Horror movie.
They openly acknowledged lifting from Bernard Herrmann's Psycho score, and while I hear a little of his Vertigo score too, the visuals definitely look inspired from Saul Bass' Vertigo titles especially with the focus on the eyes.
I'm going to propose something a little crazy: if the music in this film is from Psycho and music in films brings a shared continuity does that mean Re-Animator is set in the same universe as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho? 😁
Comment: This is the greatest horror movie of all time. It sure beats Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, and the Fly. Barbara Crampton is an attractive Woman. We all want a wife such as her In Our lives. She is hot! This theme should have won an Oscar back in the day. How cool is this? Miskatonic Hospital, What a gorgeous name for a hospital. Dated December 3, 2024, USA {Tuesday}
Isn't there anything Japanese Game Devs didn't rip off during the 80s and 90s? the "iconic" Sephirot theme is a blatant Ripoff of this theme Mario theme is a ripoff, Streets of Rage 1 is a complete Ripoff and so many more... Disgusted....
Re-Aniamtor: hey, can I copy your homework?
psycho: sure, just make sure to change it a little
Re-Animator:
I love this movie more than I reasonably should.
This is the way. This movie is one of my Favorite movies of all time. There are No reasons Not to Like it.
It’s a masterpiece. “I gave him life.”
I thought I was the only one! Everything's just perfect in this film!
Well put
We ALL do.
you know its getting serious when the Oboe starts going "bwa bwam, bweem bam, beem bam, beem bam, bee beem, ba buh buh duh duh"
IMO, one of the best opening credits ever.
The Re-ani-banger
Sounds more like a porn parody....*shudders*
One of the coolest openings to a film ever!
I just watched the unrated version of this film last night.
It's awesome finding you here!
Amazing score I remember from watching this movie as a child. Must've made its mark. Still find myself humming randomly from time to time, like today.
It’s cool that the song is just like the psycho theme
Bruh Psycho is in 1995
VHB Productions are you talking about the remake? That came out in 1998
Yeah the reanimator is intentionally paying homage to the psycho theme
@@rice_bowl8881 actually this is an homage to the psycho theme
@@rice_bowl8881 you need to watch the original by Alfred Hitchcock in the 60’s
I can't get this goddamn theme song out of my head

omg i love it! its been 15 years since i see that but i love this song❤
The theme low key slaps.
I started dancing to the song
This opening is awesome 👏
I love the fact they used the psycho theme as the base for this theme
_I gave him life_
Couldn't you imagine those Grey's Anatomy illustrations hopping off the screen and dancing around?
I saw this way too young, one of the greats.
When you FINALLY watch this movie for the first time
I'm surprised the Bernard Herrmann estate didn't sue for ripping off the opening music from Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho".
Why would he lol ,sounds great 😃
The composer himself had admitted that it was partly based on Hermann's score with changes in melodic and instrumental parts.
rips his clothes off, put on a white lab coat and jumps up on a table and dances like a madman to this 😁
Who agrees that Sam Raimi should direct an Evil Dead meets Re-Animator crossover?
I hate remakes as much as everyone else
But if Sam Raimi directed a Re animator remake it would go hard asf,get Danny Elfman to do his own version of this and practical effects it would be amazing
Toujours aussi génial malgré tant d'années !
Oddly entertaining theme and opening credits. Does this intro theme almost sound like belonging to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho? It did to me in some scenes, just more upbeat with a few more notes
They did have legal problems over the psycho's version. I believe the composer of this version intended this song as a homage.
Quentin Tarantino used another Version for His movie the hateful 8 . They are different Versions of the same theme.
So cool
Feels like a freaking Tim Burton movie
actually the guy who did the opening animation did alot of tim burton intros like Eddward Scissorhands and more
@@zenkill24 Did not know that, thank you!
And the piece is taken from the greatest horror film of all time, Psycho.
Tim Burton was nobody when this movie was released.

Who's here when Stuart Gordon passed away
Rest in peace.

The theme music reminds me of psycho so much
At 0:50 where this soundtrack sounds a bit similar to BERNARD HERRMANN’S “PSYCHO” score
Took the thoughts right outta my head
Theme music terrified me as a child
WTF
Ah yes, the Psycho opening.
How did they not get in trouble for this😭
Love to see another movie or remake in just as comical gory fashion as the original
I'm going to propose something a little crazy: if the music in this film is from Psycho and music in films brings a shared continuity does that mean Re-Animator is set in the same universe as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho? 😁

@@spinachgreens7179 I just think it's cool they exist in the same universe.
Amava esse filme
The Re-Animator theme has a bit of a Danny Elfman vibe.
that's what i thought while watching this for the first time, i also thought the background kinda looked like james and the giant peach
Sounds like Psycho theme
JD Bond Yes, as stated in the description :)
@@giuliettamasina actually Richard Band used the psycho theme as an inspiration and was not something he tried to hide
@@laurentiu7798 Yes, this is exactly what homage means.
Because it is. The composer admitted he ripped off the opening credits music from Psycho, just rearranging it slightly.
It is 😂😂😂😂
Dead Meat Anyone ?
Yes
Yep

Yep
Anyone here from RedLetterMedia?
I always thought this was danny elfman!

Тема Винницкого маньяка.
Bloodstained Ritual the Alchemy Laboratory music levels too similar.
What's the difference between an homage and plagiarism?
I'd say plagiarism is trying to get away with it, and an homage the opposite.
Psicosis
A rip off of Bernard Hermann's iconic Psycho Suite.
This is better ❤
Re animation is a dead god IASO🌹🌑👍 rest in the good news 🌹 okay bye
Music is a definite rip off of Bernard Hermann's Psycho theme.

How to rip-off a Hitchcock/Herrmann movie? Start with the title sequence then continue. 😅Then call it an homage.
