One of the most accurate portrayals of small towns in America. The rural feeling, everything being 10-15 years out of date, and barn animals in random places.
It would be even more out of date now, LOL. Makes me think of the Village where people are living in an old simple time period and just beyond it is a more modern and 2020s world.
Yes I'm the 100th like also Hey hey don't forget about clerks, an indie film that had a low budget and was a huge success It's just more underrated than this movie imo
This is easily one of the best title sequences in film. It’s charming, you know exactly what film you are about to see (a quirky, feel good) and it shows the era, the type of place they live in and the fact that we are dealing with dorky high schoolers. So clever.
This intro is a perfect example of “elegance in simplicity.” It also keeps the viewer constantly engaged during what is usually the most boring part of a movie
I loved this movie. Was from a really weird surreal time in my life, and I remember rewatching it quite frequently in the eighth grade. Had very little to no friends, and my only escape was listening to music and movies. Although it was a fucked up time I still wouldn’t trade that time for the world
Guillermo Carter glad someone can relate. There’s that weird point in your life where you swear everything feels like your on drugs and everything is awkward. But lone and behold your sober and the whole world has a weird vibe that you just can’t shake, just dead emotions combined with no one caring about you, even though you’re at the loneliest point in your life you feel connected with media and what we observe infront of ourselves more then ourselves.
