Saw them live in university before they were massive. Pre-AllStar. Great live show and they played The Fonz not long before they played Walking on the Sun. For some reason, I still remember this song most of all.
Wow after listening to this, so many years later, I just now noticed there's no keyboard track on this. I remember the label Interscope had a fit over the mix on this show. This was probably one of their complaints. I still have a good chunk of the rest of this show which I will upload; all of those tracks seem to have the keyboard in the mix. I remember we had no access to an Avid or FCP so I had to edit on Premiere which turned out to be pretty fun, though no Multi-cam feature which suked.
It never ceases to amaze me how every single time Smash Mouth was filmed performing live, the cameraman basically just pretends Greg Camp doesn't exist 🤡
is there a video ANYwhere on youtube of this song that isnt live? dont get me wrong, the band is great i love the song i just feel that live performances are always shit compared to the CD version unLESS youre actually there. if i wanted a live performance i would have bought a different cd, but i bought their cd years ago and really liked it, still do, but now its lost in the shuffle and i cant find it anywhere!
Steve was the Fonz. RIP.
Steven Scott Harwell (January 9, 1967 - September 4, 2023) R.I.P.
Fush Yu Mang is still a great album that was full of bangers but this one is definitely a standout. RIP Steve
Nobody could sing like Steve! RIP and thanks for the music!
Greg Camp's tone is out of this world! Check those icy clean tones!

I don't think there was really any keyboard on their first album at all, except maybe Walkin' On the Sun, right?
The album that this track came from was when they were pretty much a ska band.
This song kicks so much ass
True
This song is deep
