    Liliana, If you could make more videos using this method, to teach us the past tense and future tense, especially of the popular verbs (tener, haber, ser, ir, estar, poner, poder, etc.) it would be great. Plus you could make a TON of videos. We would watch them all numerous times, because they would be very helpful.

    At timestamp 3:39 I was told/taught to use "calor" for hot b/c it can be taken the wrong way. Like caliente would be used to refer to oneself or in a more intimate manner rather than the weather or temperature. 🤔 Idk if it is just a dialect thing, but just letting you know.

      Grammatically “Está” and “es” are both the verb To Be in English in the third person singular: He/She/It is.
      To understand it in English think semantically about the different meanings of the verb to be in these two sentences: She is here and She is a woman.

    This is amazing. I've been "trying" to learn spanish for 6 years buy always give up because I can not find the EXACT translation of the words between the two languages. I will admit that English is difficult to learn because every vowel doesn't sound the same from word to word. It is hard to have to remember whether the word im trying to use is masculine or feminine before I can even speak the sentence. Im sure now that I found your channel it will all make a lot more sense. Gracias.

    I'm at that beginner phase where I just stop myself from questioning and just absorb - but I'm curious, when Spanish speaking people learn a new word (even as adults, we sometimes come across them in any language, right?) how do you tell if it's feminine or masculine?
    Do even native Spanish people need to ask if the word you came across is feminine or masculine if it's the first time you heard it?

    Thanks for this method of learning Spanish. It would be very helpful if when you give the listener a turn to say it you allow for more time, repeating the phrase back slowly, also you quickly say very good which further defeats the last practice of the important part of the lesson of repeating back the phrase. With being a beginner right now it's much to fast.

    A question: with the different Spanish accents, it is easy to get confused. What should a beginner follow?

    • @of4950
      @of4950 Год назад +2

      There's the really common accent which is the slanting up áéíóú. on smaller words it seperates the meaning, for example "bebé" means baby and "bebe" means he/she drinks or el(the) and él(he) or cómo(how) and como(like). And for larger words it can change the stress in the word like "máquina" would normally be pronounced maKEEna but theres an accent at the first part so it would MAkeena. It could also be for loan words like café or sofá. also i'm not a native spanish speaker but this is what i know.
      And if you're wondering about Ñ(ENyeh) that's not an accent it's a letter and it's pronounced "ny " like in año (ANyo)

    • @johnsalamander-dz1qz
      @johnsalamander-dz1qz Год назад +1

    • @of4950

      also it can sometimes be used in verbs in the past tense like habló (he/she spoke) and hablo(i speak)

    Hi! I’m learning spanish and i’m confused for the first part where it says el esta instead of es. Aren’t you supposed to use es instead of esta because es is used to describe qualities or a person or something?

    • @SpanishWithLiliana
      @SpanishWithLiliana  Год назад +12

      The easier answer is that ‘es’ is used for a more permanent state, and ‘está’ is for a temporary state.
      Both ‘ser’ and ‘estar’ mean ‘to be’ and they can be used for different situations.
      In this case, ‘feliz’ can use es or está; either one works.
      But for ‘he is tall’ we would use ‘él es alto’ because that’s a more permanent state.
      I hope this helps 🤗
