I just discovered Spring Awakening recently, and I love it. Brian Charles Johnson just won mad props from me. When I first heard some of the music, I thought "my school needs to do this, even though the town would burn us at the stake" and that if we did, I should be his character (Otto? I've not seen it. :()... I see him wearing a Sabres shirt... and that cemented it. Hockey + musicals... wow. That's pretty awesome, I have to say.

I just found out that Brian Charles Johnson is from Buffalo, NY! I just moved from there after living there for many years. I was wondering why he had the Buffalo Sabres shirt. I have recently fallen in love with this musical and the play.
The sound guy wasn't great on this; you can't hear most of Jon's solo @ the beginning, and the first time everyone chimes in on their harmonies, it's not modulated properly. I love how Lea turns & beams at Brian when he gets all the cheers during his solo - but who is the girl standing next to him on the other side? I know the whole OBC and I don't recognize her...
Oh it wasn't that bad. It's a morning sing-a-long [well maybe afternoon]. Not properly warmed up that's all. But those [surely not Lauren...nah can't be...] notesat 44 & 55 secs are awful. I still love it. The raw beauty of this music & the performers will last a lifetime.
