When it comes to braggadocio, K Rino is untouchable. But aside that, Lupe is a better lyricist with more lyrical substance. Lupe is def top 2 for those who have analyzed him in depth. Goat Lupe
He need to do Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool next really. It’s probably the best mix of Lupe as a lyricist whilst still being easy to digest on your first listen.

Favorite artist of all time. A lot of times, Lupe fans want people to listen to Mural first, but you gotta build up to that. Go through his music then come to that. F&L, The Cool, Tetsuo & Youth, and Drogas Wave are all masterful. He has a ton of mixtapes and loosies too, but those 4 albums, in order, will show you how amazing his writing is.
My favorite hip hop song of all time. This song is basically perfect Hip Hop. 100% This has so much substance. Murals is loose wordplay representing stages in Lupe's life and what was happening. Both insane though, Seeing Lupe do Murals live was insane.
Lupe Fiasco will never be replaced as my favorite rapper of all time. No matter how many artists come out that I enjoy more, he will always hold a special place. He deserves all his flowers.
As a young black man, when I heard this song at 22, for the VERY first time, made me cry, been a fan EVER since. Only 3 other artists music has done that to me ( J. Cole -Friday Night Lights & Forest Hills Drive, Big Krit - Return of 4eva, Isiah Rashad - Cilvia Demo)
I’ve said it more times than I can remember, but pound for pound Lupe is the greatest rapper of alltime. It’s that simple. And when it comes to writing ability, nobody in music can match his pen. Truthfully, he should only be mentioned with the great authors.
Lupe IS the greatest lyricist of all time. He doesn’t brag or throw it in your face though, which is why some have the luxury of keeping his name out the conversation. But in the words of King Push.. “If you know, you know”.
