Listening to Westside Gunn's music is like going to a wine tasting at an art gallery but instead of wine its hennessy and the art gallery is in the most dangerous part of the city and everyone has weapons on them
What I love about this channel is that you've grown a fan base with a good taste in music. Seeing people suggest more Griselda, Boldy James, Roc Marciano, etc is cool as hell for a reaction channel.

Westside actually caught the CHYYYNA virus and had it while he recorded Shawn vs Flair. He was at home on a ventilator when Premo sent him the beat and wanted to be on the project. So he practised the song in his head and had to get it right in the first few takes as he didnt have enough strength and breath to do it. He was watching the Flair vs Shawn match when Premo factimed him so he made me watch it with him on facetime, hence the name of the song.

the shawn michael's promo on french toast is westside gunn admitting that his singing on french toast isn't very good lol, shawn says "i'll admit, I'm no singer"
7:44 "My team is special like the eleven, let's kick this shit off I'm Steve Tasker in Buffalo run, and I'ma get ya" There's 11 players on the field in American football, kick this shit off is referring to punting the ball. You need to dive deep into Griselda. Some suggestions: Tana Talk 3, Hitler Wears Hermes 7, Lulu, Flygod is an Awesome God, WWCD, Flygod, etc. there's a lot more but I think that these will help you get started. Keep delivering that quality content 💪 Edit: For y'all saying that I didn't mention Flygod, you're right. Don't need to be such dicks over it, I clearly said etc. and that there's a lot more.
I remember when Flygod was first released in 2016. I noticed that not a lot of people knew about this guy (including myself) so I thought I'd give it a play. After the first two songs I was HOOKED. I remember thinking "THIS is the rap I've been wanting to hear for so long!" Thankfully Griselda has been releasing MANY albums since and I've discovered so many low-key rappers that aren't really talked about. Roc Marci, Tha God Fahim, Mach Hommy, Eto, Flee Lord, Your Old Droog, etc.
i knew after the die lit review you’d be my favorite reviewer, but i didn’t think it would happen this quick “imagine a better world where this was doing the numbers that some of the music that gets 100 million views in few weeks” 10/10
@@achronos178 Stolen Youth is the best Vince Staples project and most people don't know it exists. If you haven't, check it out for exactly what you're asking for
One of the best if not the best reaction channels in the game rn. Keep up the good work. Would love to see some more push t action or mike deans (a huge producer/instrumentalist for travis and Kanye) new debut album: 4:20. Also would love to see more Freddie Gibbs action. If you love these instrumentals you'll love his, piñata is worth your time without a doubt.
Dope reaction man! hope you dive deeper into Griselda even if you don't record it, they got a lot of gems in their discography. Keep up the great work homie
The Shawn Michaels promo of "Im not a singer" at the end of French Toast references Westgunn singing the hook on French Toast as he's a hard rapper and not a proficient singer
Also missed Conway the machine x alchemist lulu, BUT BIG THANKS FOR THE REACTION🔥 Also Boldy James the price of tea in China with alchemist is my personal favorite this year!
The first vibe I got from it was action Bronson. Just the way he references all these nice beautiful things. How he raps everything together and paints such a vivid picture of something I haven’t experienced myself
When I first listened to this album, I thought Westside Gunn sounded a lot like Action Bronson too, just with a higher pitch voice. Definitely has a similar flow
Glad to see this get a reaction - was disappointed you didn't do Royce's The Allegory though, that was a great album that you'd have probably enjoyed a lot and reactions would have been good to see.
To comment on something you said about not wanting to pick a favorite yet: in my experience, the deeper you get, they’ll all be your favorites at one point or another lol. While what they do is similar, they all offer something a little different, and shine brighter at different moments.
You should make follow up videos like a year later, liked I'd love to hear your take on Channel Orange, Blonde, 1999, etc.. all now that you've maybe listened to more or just had more perspective on
Im disappointed too that "the plugs i met" didn't receive that much views for the channel but it appears to be that the members and the sound of Griselda are on the rise to becoming mainstream. There is a lot of great content to discover with these guys and ik you and Simon Miller must love those wrestling references, they have it sprinkled all over their projects
Listening to Westside Gunn's music is like going to a wine tasting at an art gallery but instead of wine its hennessy and the art gallery is in the most dangerous part of the city and everyone has weapons on them

i think we're gonna need to see these legendary JD tap dancing moves you speak of.
watch this be a bonus on patreon.
For those that don’t know. The tap dancer is Cartier Williams who tap danced to Westside Gunn’s song “Perfect Plex” at Paris’ Fashion week show

I reckon Tana Talk 3 is the best place to start
Nirvan Sircar yes, Tana talk 3 imo is the best Griselda project. TT3, R2, Flygod And WWCD good places to start imo
Also The Price of Tea in China, even though technically, it is not a Griselda project
also Supreme Blientele, the best griselda album IMO
