- Anchored by Ted Knight, Too Close for Comfort beat the odds when it was suddenly cancelled and found success on another station. The show would have gone on strong had it not been for the untimely passing of its main star. Where is the cast today? Find out here!
Thank you. Great video with one exception: we were a smash hit the first few years with 20 million viewers and in the top 10 each week behind Three's Company on ABC's Tuesday night lineup: Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Three's Company, Too Close for Comfort. XO
Amazing to see your comment! Great work!
Glad to see you're doing well. To close for comfort was a classic.
Glad you are well. I can only watch old sitcoms with the way the world is today
That period's top TV shows, including "Too Close For Comfort", included acting (Ted Knight, John Ritter, Carol Burnett, etc) & writing which aced most of the same talents in today's top shows.
@@craigjames2604 we are creating a really fun reboot. XO
Deborah Van Valkenberg will always be Mercy from The Warriors to me. A class lady.
Agreed 💯 Percent
This show was a wonderful part of my youth! Thanks so much, Lydia and cast, for making such a fun show!
Thank you! XOXO
I love this show and still watch the reruns.
I remember and loved this show!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this show. The cast was perfect. Monroe was a gas.
I was a huge fan of Too Close For Comfort & was a Senior in Highschool in 1986 when my classmates told me Ted Knight passed I was traumatized..good times in life!!
So sad when he died. Thank you for watching. LOVE and blessings to you. XOXO
Me too! I was a year behind you..i was a huge fan. Was so sad to hear he passed away

Too close for comfort was one of those great and decent shows that you love to watch. Also was one of those shows that you can never forget about either.
Every Saturday and Sunday on antenna tv
Exactly at 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
I'm always watching. even though they are reruns, I still like them and I still enjoy them.
After all these years, I still get a kick out of Monroe. What a character.
Good shows like this are hard to come by, that's for sure.
Also today shows are nothing like the shows back in the 1980s or mid 90s.
I have been looking for this show in like forever !!! I grew up watching this…… one of my favorites. I was laying down and it popped in my head, the title. I kept visualizing the characters, but could not remember the title. Who said that you tube is not good for anything.😊
No mention at all of Ted's role in the movie Caddyshack. That was a gross oversight.
Danny…Danny…
No Kidding!!
Also no mention of Jim J. Bullock's role as Prince Valium in Spaceballs. I only remember him for these 2 roles as I don't think I've seen him in anything else except maybe Reverse The Curse, which was an older PBS show if I remember correctly.
He was so damn hilarious in that movie. Those facial expressions
there's a lot of BADNESS in the world.
Really!?!?!? No mention of the Queen of them all!?!? Audrey Meadows of the Honeymooners. :/
Too Close For Comfort was a great show & it was very underrated. I thought the show should've had at least a 6 season (major network run)
I Remember Watching this Show Very funny and Entertaining.
Lydia Cornell Is A Dear Friend And She Has Been A Special Guest On The Life Box Media Channel Radio Podcast And Will Be On Again Soon She Is Very Talented As A Director And And Actress And Is Very Funny Doing Stand Up Too
Any reason why you capitalize every word in your comment? It's not as easy to read, if that means anything to you.

Lydia Cornell was an absolute smoke show.
Thank you XOXO
still is 🔥🔥🔥
She doesnt look like she's aged at all! WOW!
Lydia Cornell could have been a major movie star. She has good looks and charisma. God bless her. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@LYDIA CORNELL COMEDY THERAPY LOL The fact that you replied to this thread is comedy gold! However, I must agree with Kayjay that you were “an absolute smoke show” 🔥 but with one exception: You still very much are! For a little more perspective, this is coming from someone who prefers brunettes
R.I.P: Ted Knight
Lydia Cornell also appeared in an episode of "Hunter" as his girlfriend.
She also appeared on an episode of full house. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I never missed that show!! I was in high school when it premiered and watched it thru the seasons. It was a great time to grow up!!
This was ABC, not NBC.
Thanks I thought it was ABC.
Same here.
Ted makes me think of my dad, especially the "how would you know" line regarding staying at a hotel.
What a great show.
Too Close For Comfort was never on NBC. It was on ABC from the beginning in 1980 to 1983 before its first-run syndication .
And Good Morning America did not begin in 1985. It was 1975.
Let's not forget the Superfriends in 1974!
ted did voice over work going back to the 60s when i was a kid
great voice actor
@@thewkovacs316 Absolutely!
I recently learned that there's thing called "aesthetic attraction" where a person is attracted to the beauty of someone but without the sexual desire. This perfectly describes me as a woman who is not a lesbian but loves looking at beautiful women. When I first heard of this, I immediately thought of Sarah Rush (Lydia Cornell)! She was the reason I watched this show - I absolutely admired her feminine curves, hair, beautiful face and soft voice. She's still a a beauty and always will be.
Thank you -- that's a cool way to look at it. XOXO
Ted also had a tiny role in the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Psycho, giving Anthony Perkins a blanket!!!
Wow, I didn't know that. I'll have to watch for Ted thanks !
Lydia your show was great ,remember it well.Great cast and yes I like many young guys had a crush on you !
I'm very sorry, but Too Close For Comfort wasn't on NBC it was on ABC. This is a great video. I enjoyed the show a lot.I was ten years old when it aired in 1980.I was a fan of the show until it ended. Great cast. Nancy Dussault has a beautiful singing voice. ❤❤❤❤
I loved your show and still do wish the would show reruns in my area of texas!
It's on Pluto on Demand and on Antenna every weekend. XOXO
@@LYDIACORNELLCOMEDYTHERAPY you made this dude, blush!
Loved the intro. Was in love with the two younger sisters, especially the blonde. Great show. 👍 the eighties had the best stuff
I remember this show, it was so funny.
Just me or does jm j Bullock resemble George Michael in 1984? That's saying a lot for Monroe. Great cast all around
Ted Knight was the funniest person on the the show and on WKRP in Cincinnati.
Hey!.....Ted Knight was never on WKRP........
He wasn't on WKRP. .. he was on The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Great show👍
Show kept me laughing as a kid
When VCRs were new.the good old days.
Did the cast secretly take the Dick Clark youth serum? They all look phenomenal! 😊
I don't know where they are but it be nice if somebody would put their shows on RUclips they put everything else on
I was absolutely in love with Nancy Dusalt 😍
Nice video. In the beginning you say TCFC was on ABC then you ad it was canceled by NBC. Also at 8:20 you say GMA first season was 1985. It was 1975
Great people from the show
I absolutely loved this show..i was a teenager..i never missed it
I LOVE THIS VIDEO !!! 👍🏻
Thank you! XOXO
I did not know that about Jim! Of course I haven't heard too much about many of them, since the show had ended. I knew Jim was on Hollywood Squares, but that's about it
I don't remember seeing Debra Van Valkenburgh on Curb, BUT do remember Lydia Cornell on Curb when she was selling Bra's to Larry (and she was still gorgeous), maybe you made a mistake? UNLESS I missed an episode with "Valkenburgh" ? Thanks for posting this video, Tom.
I just watched that episode recently but didn't pick up on that. I'm going to watch it again. Some curb your enthusiasm s I do watch a couple times.
Thank you for remembering and watching Curb! XOXO
@@LYDIACORNELLCOMEDYTHERAPY You are very welcome, also enjoyed your work on the TV show with Ted Knight. Take care, Tom in NV.
Pretty good show Too Close For Comfort I always wanted to live in San Francisco, but I only went to visit. If I had saved my money to go and live there, who knows what that would have been liked. Another thing is there either a Cosmic Cow puppet or instruction on how to make her? I think Cosmic Cow was a she.
Ms. Dussault’s is pronounced “do so.”
Do tell.
Love you Lydia!🌹🌹🌹
I remember watching this show with my mother when I was little. She told me we could be related to Nancy because we have the same last not so common last name! I wish I could talk to her to see if by some chance we are related. BTW Dussault is pronounced Do-So 😊
That is so cool. I'll tell Nancy
@@LYDIACORNELLCOMEDYTHERAPY Really? Could you?! That would be so nice. ♥️
I haven't seen this show in probably well over 33 years. I used to love when Henry would fall off of the girls' furniture.
Thank you! LOL
@@LYDIACORNELLCOMEDYTHERAPY Ty for making me feel like a kid again. Those were the good old days.
We're still on every weekend on Antenna TV and on Pluto.tv on Classic Comedy on demand
We are on every weekend on Antenna TV and Pluto everyday the past 3 years. Thank you XOXO
His falling backwards on the girls' sofa was after his line "se habla Sanka?"
Jim J Bullock would make an excellent reboot spinoff of the show, reprising his role as Munroe Ficus.
Monroe is the best !
This weekend (August 2-4 2024) Flashback Weekend in Rosemont Illinois is having a Warriors reunion without Debra Van Valkenburg. I just wish I had the time and money to go.
"Too Close For Comfort" aired on NBC..."
Two seconds in, and you already supplied the wrong information. It was ABC! 😂😂😂
Deborah Van Valkenberg is from my hometown.
Schenectady NY
I wouldn't know any of these people except Knight.
Fact check, it originally aired on ABC & then went into syndication.
Dang, time has been kind to Lydia. Still a hottie
Thank you! XOXO
wasn’t there a girl named Lisa on the show?
Ooohhhh Munrooooo.
I just found-out, Today(10/12/21), From watching, Another video, Also, On RUclips, After watching the above-video, That lt was Kenneth Mars, Who did the voice, For King Triton, In Disney's "The Little Mermaid". Ever, Since 1989... All this time, l thought it was Ted Knight, Who had done the voice, For King Triton. :T lt's a good-thing I wasn't asked that question," Who was the voice, For King Triton?", On "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". :T
And I got to costar with Kenneth Mars in "Simon & Simon" on CBS. Love him.
And I got to co-star with Kenneth Mars in "Simon & Simon"
I always loved monroe he was just to adorable
Too Close For Comfort aired on ABC, NOT NBC
The Warriors is from 1979
Too Close For Comfort aired on ABC not NBC.
Didn’t Ted do voice over on the Saturday morning cartoon The Super Friends?
He was the narrator.
The show didn't air on NBC it aired on ABC throughout its run
Ted Knight was handsome!!! ❤
Your facts are wrong. Prime example: The Warriors came out in 1979, not 1978. Please correct yourself on the inaccuracies.
btw, Nancy Dussault's last name is pronounced "Dew - soh" not "Dew-salt"
The show originally aired on ABC
I don't think there was a more beautiful sitcom woman then lydia cornell just gorgeous.
I miss TV from back then when it was actually funny instead of being crude, preachy and unfunny like today’s shows
All I remember was the blonde 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tadeusz Wladyslaw Konopka:bye,guys! ... rip!
That is incorrect! It premiered on ABC.
It was on ABC! Not nbc
Wasn’t Debra also in the mini series on tv Called Playing for Time?
No aired on ABC
I only watched the show to see Lydia Cornell.
What a sweet thing to say. Thank you XOXO
Yess ABC!! NOT NBC
Lydia Cornell never appeared on Charlie's Angels
You're confusing another actress Audrey or her sister Judy Landers who did appear in the episode of Season 4 when they introduced Shelley hack as Tiffany Welles
Both Audrey and Judy appeared in Charlie's Angels between season 3 and season 4 in 1 episode each
The chronology is a bit off. Good morning America launched in the 1970s, not 1985.
LYDIA CORNELL YOU ARE A SWEETHEART OF A PERSON AND SHE IS VERY PRETTY AND A VERY GOOD ACTRESS TOO YOU ARE MY DREAM WOMAN TOO
You forgot to mention Andrew
It was on abc not nbc ted knight argue with Ed Asner on mary Moore
I think it's pronounced Nancy Du Sew.
GMA was launched in 1975
👍
Spent a year as the road manager for a musician. Really? Is that what we are calling it now?
I always wondered why Lydia was so pretty. She’s Texan.
Thank you :) XOXO
Lydia is very nice. We talk to each other on Twitter
What happened to the girl who played April?
OM
The Narrator is Horrible. 1975 Ms. Nancy Co- Hosted with David Hartman on Good Morning America.
What is your favorite social conditioning TV show from the 80s?
Trump. Used to watch this show it eas funny
I believe all the members of the cast were secretly homosexual.
Jim J. Bullock is the reason I couldn't stomach this show.
Grew up watching this wonderful show. Now when i watch it, its clear to see it had a political agenda to humanize homosexuality. My only problem with it.
