Yeahi gotbthe prop version, the hangkai with the propeller is waaaaay better. Just have it trimmed right and you get 8mph easy
Just bought Honda 2-3 outboard bought on impulse didn't research this Honda dealer didn't say they make these in China beware. Miles away it kept quitting losing revs on half throttle. If I'm gentle with it its ok. And this motors new. CAN'T see it lasting 5yrs feels cheap. Do your research.

I have the hangkai outboard motor and they said this thing is a 4hp but discovered it's only a 2hp. I used the hangkai outboard on my 13' Saturn inflatable boat and the thing is loud. Also it is slow only 5mph, and you are right the Suzuki outboard is superior to this Chinese knockoff. Shame on you hangkai. And great video.

I still have the Big fish 108. Thinking of putting the 2.5 on it & using a bow mounted trolling motor with battery up front. It should balance the weigh out. I'm a little concerned about the water coming in & draining quickly.

Find one of the old Suzuki 2hp motors. I’ve got one and it’s great. I wanted to put it on the back of a canoe, but I couldn’t find one, so I bought a Jon boat. It pushes a 12ft Jon boat great. I only gave $200 for the motor.

@@AliexFolgueira Yea sorry, didn't know. I linked to the manufacturer. It does have a killswitch and extended tiller better suited for kayaks, a proper prop, and genuine honda commercial 4stroke motor. It seems pretty decent for what you get.
I think they're based in Florida... maybe you guys could do a collab?
This is an absolute horrible review video where another RUclipsr is trying to be “cool” by bashing the lower end product. First of all that makes you a FOOL for even comparing the two, secondly the Hangkai is an amazing motor for what it costs. I e had mine for 4 years and use it on multiple crafts with two people and it moves fast and has never once let us down. Anyone can feel free to message me and I’ll send video of it in action both on boat and kayak. Is the Suzuki better? It had better be for almost 3x the cost, should they be compared? Only if your a RUclipsr looking to make content! It’s like saying dont by the Datsun truck it sucks, you should by the 2022 Toyota Tacoma it’s way better! Yeah, no DUH!!!!

Hi, Bobby, I am interested in getting a Hangkai Outboard motor and use it as back-up for my Lifetime Wasatch canoe, which has a 50-lb thrust Minn Kota. I would like to use one to back-up the other. Just so you know I have experience in fixing auto engine, which I think will help me feel comfortable with using this cheaper outboard motor, as long as it does not have recurrent major engine problem. I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Yo tengo un Hangkai 4hp y me funciona super bien. Ojo en Amazon o eBay venden copias de esos motores por eso yo fui directo a la página y compre el original. Yo de mi parte si recomiendo a esos que no pueden dar $800 o más por un motor para botes, a que compren algo menos costoso como lo es esta marca de motores pero ojo que lo compren directo en la página original...

I have the suzuki 2.5, I previously had a Honda 2.3. The Honda was automatic so you didn't need to put it in gear which was nice. But the Honda leaks fuel (even though it isn't supposed to). The suzuki dosen't leak, known quality. But I wish it was automatic and I didn't need to flip the gear.
This Suzuki is proven for sure
You get what you pay for of course, but bear in mind that the jet drive on ANY outboard motor loses about 30 percent of the thrust that a standard propeller on the same outboard would produce
About 30% reduction so that's about 1/2 a mile per hour
I think what you are calling idle speed is more commonly referred to as neutral, although those small outboards may not offer forward, neutral and reverse.

I bought the air cooled 4 stroke and it's quiet and smooth. It's light to carry.
i was so happy when i got it, then it didnt work, the jet prop is not good, the normal one should be fine, i hear, but i really don't trust a lot of this reviews online, they are soft
@@AliexFolgueira Be humble. You chose the shallow water mudsucker over a prop. I bought a TK 144FC with prop. Faster. You can file the flywheel knotch to idle better. If the centrifugal clutch engages too fast, change to light springs. Then it will troll. Something else your Hangkai mudsucker is good for. You have a big hunking water cooled and the starter cord breaks or it clogs with algae or jellyfish. Lift it out and set it aside. Put your Hangkai on the transum, pull the cord, and steam on back slowly.

$320 for a product that doesn't work is NOT cheap - just a rip off. A trolling motor would be a better alternative on the Catch PWR.

Cheap motor is slower cause it has a governor causing it to only rev to 3300 rpm if you remove the governor it’ll rev close to 6000rpm resulting in a higher top speed.
There won't be a good comparison. The propeller motor will be a far more efficient and push a boat better. The pump lower end will not do any better than it did before. Get a propeller lower end for the 4hp unit.

My hangkai 3.5 is way better than this Chinese motor from what you have to say about it. I'm sure the suzuki is better, but I only paid $200 for it. It's ok for what I use it for. If it quits on me, I'll buy a suzuki or mariner.
Hankai is just a lawm mower engine. My 50lb trolling motor will ride that over any day

I have both of these engines, the exact same models, yes the Suzuki is better but almost all of your complaints are blatantly obvious before you buy the cheap one and you are wrong the cheap one does has a numeral gear via a centrifugal clutch

Chinese motors really suck won't even last a season. I went with a tohatsu 6 hp and works great. Pay a little more and get a decent motor
