There seriously is not one cake you've done that I don't think is amazing. They may not all be my style but I actually have a similar artistic style to you. They are all so gorgeous. I'm doing some rice paper sails for a cake this weekend and this was a great technique with the painting it on instead of laying it into a shallow bowl of water. THANKS!! Keep sharing, please!
Honestly, this is not my preferred style either! I love the abstract and my audience does too. My preferred style is classic elegant wedding style with sugar flowers. There will be more of that now that weddings are back in full swing!
Beautiful! I'm so sorry there are people out there who feel the need to point out aspects that are common sense causing instructors to make disclaimers , like "blowing " on the color... lol. I could have gone the whole vid knowing you were doing that just to teach us the end result and you would naturally use a different method for a client cake 😁 You do Beautiful work
Thank you for understanding that;) You would be surprised at how many there are out there just looking for something to criticize you about. We out ourselves out there as creators, so to a certain extent you expect it. But I was raised with the, nothing nice to say..... mentality;)
So beautiful. The colors are absolutely gorgeous together. I love the copper lines you mixed in the painting. It really makes the colors pop. The rice paper sails really give it that extra touch. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Sorry I retract that first response;) I thought we were talking about a different cake. I would be a little wary about steaming this because you don't want 8t to drip. Maybe brush a little shortening on top after it is dry. If will soak in and become Matte again over time, but if you time it right it would be ok. Maybe no more then 4 to 6 hours before serving.
Actually no it doesn't;) you run into that more when you are covering the cake completely with one peice instead of paneling. The top corners can crack. With the paneling, you are only wrapping it around the side and it does just fine. Also using a marshmallow fondant like the one I link in the description gives you more play time. This peice actually sat rolled out and loosely covered with saran wrap for a week before I even painted it;)
I either make marshmallow fondant or I buy Satin Ice. Depends on what I am doing really! But I like the taste of the marshmallow better. I have a tutorial on that too. Let me see if I can attach the link;)

Hermosa decoración, utilizaste fondant, para realizar pintura?
So beautiful. The colors are absolutely gorgeous together. I love the copper lines you mixed in the painting. It really makes the colors pop. The rice paper sails really give it that extra touch. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Thank you;)
Amazing Mary, once again. You are so talented. Mary, May I ask you how much buttercream do you make for a 8inch 2 layer cake? Thankyou. Lynn
Hi it beautiful color ! Can I use icing images sheet to water color like your? since my granddaughter hate fondant !
Perfeito lindo 👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🤤🤝💐
Thank you for sharing! Love your cake art so much~~~may I ask the size/thickness of your clear acrylic cake board?
I usually use a 10", 12" or 14" depending on the size of the cake. They are 1/4" thick;)
Very beautiful work of art. How do you think this technique will work on a buttercream covered cake?
I don't t know ow that you would get exactly this result, but you could so setting similar with a watercolor application.
Sonho de bolo 🍰🍰
I am wondering if you can do this on buttercream??? thank uuuuuu....
I have trouble working with fondant. From making it to rolling it out. Knowing what consistently is best.
ruclips.net/video/m3CwzdDM4MI/видео.html. Maybe this will help;)
Another beautiful cake. Is it possible to paint with lemon extract as I can't use alcohol.
Yes that is fine;)
@@sophisticakesbymary Thank you so much
Hi, what brand of fondant are you using?
Can I use a cake steamer to make it shine instead of the confectioner glaze?
Haven't tried! It is pretty Shiney even without the glaze.

@@sophisticakesbymary I’m definitely going to try this. Thanks a lot for replying.
Hi, question did the fondant crack when you put it on the cake knowing it was out drying before hand
