Watching this guy work made me ponder that most precision art is the one we most like and it is the area where architecture and design had come together and made a great business for tattoo shops.
I admire how calm this artist's hand remains (his name is Glen Weisgerber and he's considered a "legend" in this industry), I'm sure I'd screw it up right away:) I liked the calm voice and the visual aspect of it, and hope you enjoy it as well (and he kinda looks like the Undertaker maybe:)
Thanks for crediting him, I really enjoyed this! Listening to him discussing the placement of light sources and how he uses that to place color was lovely.
You know how many years Glen has invested in his craft? Probably about 40+ years at the this was recorded. You would be great at pinstriping too if you put in so many years. But you're right, he is an absolute legend in the car painting world.
the chrome metallic lettering technique is wild stuff, it starts off looking rough and you almost think he is botching it, then suddenly it comes together and you realize he's making 3D metallic letters, pretty impressive.
Glen is a legend. He is the inventor of what is called “Jersey Style” truck lettering. He bought the flashy style of dragster lettering to the world of truck lettering. I can spot his paint jobs from a mile away.
@@TheCaptinhazmat of course its different, completely different. And conception precedes execution regardless of the medium. But "craft" gets left by the wayside when the algorithms do the precision work. My issue is with an asinine comment like "IT LOOKS LIKE VECTORS!" which just dismisses this artisan's skill with a colossal lack of perceptivity.
29:52 what truly is insane is that I feel like I am beginning to see what is in the reflection. But there’s no reflection, it’s just paint. Mind blown.
For those who might not be aware, this man has a long and legendary history in lettering some of the most iconic nitro funny cars and dragsters in the sport of NHRA drag racing.
Omg the two tones lettering around 9:30 reminds me of my time as a cake decorator. I was taught how to do something similar, making two toned flowers and borders. That was fairly easy though. Having to "recharge" your brush constantly adds potential for error
I have watched this video a dozen times over and worked on this alphabet more times than I can remember . I wish I could get my paint consistency like this. Palleting Is so important here That little snap on the top of the letter S I still can’t get. I’m not giving up. Great talent here.
Are you using quality paint? I only ask cuz I'm new(ish) to acrylic painting and have been using Walmart stuff. I plan on swapping all my paints to higher quality stuff this year
Finally! I was wondering when someone would recognize the ASMRtistry that is Glenn Weisgerber. I love his lettering and his voice, and he's the reason I fell in love with calligraphy! And yes, he does look a lot like Slash XD
This is great, thank you. For me, his voice doesn't give me ASMR, and actually kinda interrupts it (I do get it when he isn't talking and I can hear him breathe), but I still enjoy watching this anyway!
The RS was absolutely mesmerising. I was focusing so hard on the reflection in the lettering to see if it would come into focus, knowing full well it was paint.
What a phenomenal talent this guy is. I dabble in some nice letting with my fountain pens but holy shit this is something else. I am totally blown away. This is just awesome beyond measure.
What I appreciate most about the chrome letters is being able to watch the process. If someone showed you the end result and said "this is easy to make! Trust me!" You'd shake your head and mention how talented he is compared to you. By watching the whole process and seeing the layers involved makes it easier (for me at least) to accept and understand that these things are approachable.
How to get or make a brush like that,,,and also,,,what type of paints are best,,n how to mix to run as that one on this video,,,Thank you!!! p.s.,,,u get down like no one I've seen!!
His brush control is _exceptional._ I like to paint and I can only dream of having that much freehand control. Practice practice practice is required. Years.
This shit is awesome would love to do this. My uncle did this up in Manassas VA when I was at the body shop he would do it on truck hoods and motorcycles for big money. I miss pep work on cars
I envy this guy's skills. He can see it in his brain, but has the incredible hand-eye coordination to translate it into a 2-D surface. Amazing.....better than Bob Ross!
He has flawless stroke work with machine-like precision.
Giggity
@@donosvann Lol. You're sick. Ha.
Ok
Hehehe ooo right hehe

“Hey guys my name is Rob Boss!”
But as an artist, dudes got crazy good stroke control, especially on that kind of angle.
"Good stroke control" eh?? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Insert heavy metal intro
Well, he learned on the stick 😎
thats what she said
haha honestly tho he is like the Bob Ross of Calligraphy

He kinda looks like the famous guitarist Carlos Santana.
Thanks for crediting him, I really enjoyed this! Listening to him discussing the placement of light sources and how he uses that to place color was lovely.
Did the other painter Jason took your video down? I thank you for him because he's so relaxing. Wonder if he told you to take it down.
You know how many years Glen has invested in his craft? Probably about 40+ years at the this was recorded.
You would be great at pinstriping too if you put in so many years.
But you're right, he is an absolute legend in the car painting world.
Doesn't feel right for you to monetize his video
Metal Bob Ross.
Lmao yep.
Lol I see it
100%
The other side of bob ross cause he’s facing the left and bob is facing the right
"BEAT THE DEVIL OUT OF, IT!"
8:25 is sooo extra lol
Agreed. I think he must have zoned out for a few moments and when he snapped back he had no choice but to make it look deliberate.
@@TheCalico72 he said he used to do this on racecars. Maybe thats what he used to do to make it look like a winding racetrack?
🤣 lol I was like "nah it aint tha...oh wait" 😭😭🤣🤣 love this guy though.
Letteringgggggggggggggggggggggggg
Ttttttttttttt
He's the guy in the biker club who does all the designs on the bikes
Awww that’s rather sweet when you think about it. 🤗
the chrome metallic lettering technique is wild stuff, it starts off looking rough and you almost think he is botching it, then suddenly it comes together and you realize he's making 3D metallic letters, pretty impressive.
Yes exactly my thought. At first I wasn’t impressed but wow. A true master
I was thinking the same thing but then once he started to do the final line work it looked like a heavy metal band logo
That's art man
Glen is a legend. He is the inventor of what is called “Jersey Style” truck lettering. He bought the flashy style of dragster lettering to the world of truck lettering. I can spot his paint jobs from a mile away.
Unintentional asmr is much better than actual asmr
The unintentional is the actual
Slash if he picked up a paintbrush instead of a guitar
Plot twist,that's slash
Slash if axl rose had fired him from guns n roses
...and if he was white
How did I not think I this comment before seeing it lmao
I came here to say, in the thumbnail he looks like slash from the back!
Excellent. I love watching talented artists work and describe what they're doing.
This, there is nothing more satisfying than professionals doing what they are good at. No crappy background music, just the pleasure of creation.
Sign painters etc. really are unsung heroes. He makes that looks so easy!
God bless him
Absolutely love seeing people who have truly found their calling, and then fit right into it.
Her dad: Son, what do you intend to do with my daughter?

The hair, the hat, the _NAILS_
Absolute legend
Came for the ASMR, stayed for the amazing talent and knowledge.
Oh my god, I understand the pain of using one brand for ages, then the company vanishes
So precise, it looks like a vector image.
Hah. But go ask an Adobe Illustrator jockey to go do freehand with wet media like this gentlemen does. Can you say "crash and burn"?
@@sdovas it's almost like it's completely different tools, media, and skill sets required and not even the same thing.

Whoa
The thing that gets me the most is that there is so little room for errors here. His control is nearly flawless.
For those who might not be aware, this man has a long and legendary history in lettering some of the most iconic nitro funny cars and dragsters in the sport of NHRA drag racing.
this guy is amazing, everything he does just feels so, intentional. not to mention his work is beautiful

Nose whistling has never been more relaxing
This is surprisingly nice! The confidence and precision of both his speech and lettering is really satisfying to pay attention to.
His breathing is very calming as well. I find nose whistling can be soothing.
Dude has some serious skill. Never seen a paint brush move with such control.
That wrist support he uses is a brilliant idea!
And it only goes back several hundred years...

Watching him paint and how flawless the lettering is makes this so much more relaxing and satisfying than I could have imagined
The breathing relaxes me the most
You can tell, he misses the 70’s
Yeah but, has lived in 80s vibes. For me the 80s were 1977 to late 1993.
this man has honed and refined his technique for tens of thousands of hours. the result is true mastery.
That might as well be real magic as far as I'm concerned, wow
hes not making me tired but i love watching him paint :)
Otto the bus driver from the Simpsons has skills
😂
I love his voice! Lots of good energy and power behind it

I like how he didn't say what brush he's using until after he was done. He's planning out his strokes. This man is focused
This is great, thank you. For me, his voice doesn't give me ASMR, and actually kinda interrupts it (I do get it when he isn't talking and I can hear him breathe), but I still enjoy watching this anyway!
kelly123 ditto!
It's so interesting how it affects different people - This is the first video on this channel to give me ASMR since the vacuum cleaner one
I love the Ridley Scott ventilation acoustics. So soothing
Saw this one years ago when I first started watching ASMR and loved it ever since. Glad to have found it again after looking for it for so long!
The RS in chrome was a treasure to watch
this video didnt even help me sleep because I became to invested in how interesting this man is....
This is some seriously impressive skill.
This level of casual precision is infuriatingly impressive.
It's always an honor to see a master at work.
Slash (from Guns N Roses) has a brother named Stroke apparently :P
😅😅😅😂
Slash and stroke sounds like a horror movie-porno spoof
That's ironic
Lmao
I have a right hand named Stroke
his breathing really gets me! I'm guessing you bumped the volume of it, thanks!
Its making me giggle every time it happens xD
I tried to reduce background noise a bit, yea
The breathing in this is great ASMR for sure!
Love the breathing, wakes me right back up when he starts talking unfortunately
This was actually filmed inside a computer in 1998 , this is what used to happen every time the user changed the font in MSword
Smoked some doobie, eh, buddy?
Amazing talent! 🙏
If I'd not seen this video I would think they were a decal. This is awesome.
This is stunning work! Such precision! 😍🤩
I could watch this for hours and never get tired of watching.......it definitely put me in a daze. ☺️👌🏻
for me its the breathing and looking at something this amazing
The chrome one blew my mind.... Didn't understand what was happening until he was about to start highlighting
Agreed. I thought it was a bad job but with each layer it looked more like chrome until it was awesome
what a master!! that chrome lettering was amazing!!
He looks like he could pull out a Chapman Ghostfret and start shredding until the whole country burns down
That would be a welcome sight
He's actually a drummer
Why such a shit guitar for a legend
BMXB lmao! i love it when people trash chapman
The skill in this is just amazing.
I like wow he does different pieces in different colored paint, the slow strokes are very satisfying 😌. Beautiful work
This is hypnotic.
He's so good at it! So cool to watch! Thanks for uploading! 😃
Fascinating: quite the artist! He makes it all look soo easy!!
The RS was absolutely mesmerising. I was focusing so hard on the reflection in the lettering to see if it would come into focus, knowing full well it was paint.

as soon as i heard him say ‘call’ in that deep, thick new york accent, i knew it was gonna be good
I wish people had any idea how long it takes to get this fucking good. Lol 1000's and 1000's of hours.
