I'm glad to say the two girls in this video, Rei Kuromiya and Rie Kaneko recently got back together as ReiRie. Rei Kuromiya is also in Punk band Brats with her sister Aya. The guy in the video is a bit of a legend, Richard Magarey, he's a cross dressing pro wrester from Australia. Really great guy

    (sorry long comment)
Ladybaby got started by the CEO of a clothing company, he saw Ladybeard, who is/was an Australian wrestler and metal singer who started by doing voice acting and stunt work in Hong Kong because he could get his first entertainment job in Australia. He already did martial arts and some casual cross dressing at parties/concerts for fun. When the 2008 financial crisis happened he had to figure out a new career, so he became a wrestler in Hong Kong. The cross dressing was his wrestler gimmick. From voice acting he learned how to do growls and thus he added metal singer, he was doing metal covers of pop songs (in Cantonese). Eventually he figured they might like this in Japan and he went there to expend his career/audience so he did the same in Japanese doing metal covers of J-Pop hits. Images of his went viral on social media and he was on the cover of a metal. He got noticed by the CEO of a clothing company and said: I want to work with this guy. A week later he came up with this, based on Babymetal being popular. They had a viral success. They also performed abroad at anime/Japan conventions as well.. Some rumors claimed they were going to perform at the Olympics (Babymetal also was suggested by many, but the Olympics was actually a big failure when it came to this, lots of drama/sad stories I won't bore you with right now).
After less than 2 years Ladybeard later was forced to leave Ladybaby. It's unclear what really happened, Japanese companies don't talk and he doesn't talk. Ladybaby continued for a while in different forms and eventually failed. Ladybeard was barred from the Japanese music industry to re-use the same concept for 5 years, he also tried different things in the meantime. In feb. 2020 he was supposed to launch Babybeard the same as the original concept, with 2 new young ladies. He's not been able to get the same viral success again. But they are doing conventions abroad again. The 2 young ladies for the original Ladybaby are also working together again on a project after having done a bunch of different things over the years. So it seems both parts of Ladybeard drift back to their original success.
The other alt-idol/metal (less kawaii metal) group which might be best known in the west has an American producer and went abroad on proper tours which is: Necronomidol, this group lasted from 2014-2022.
So yeah, Babymetal is still on top and they have this year already performed many times and their schedule is now up to 91 gigs and they don't seem to be done with adding more. Now they are 3 again and all out of school/uni (and for example also old enough to perform late at night, which wasn't allowed in their early days because of child work protection laws), they are doing their biggest world tour yet. Going to places they've never performed before and catching up with things that were planned for 2020.

Hanabie- pardon me, I have to go now, Broken by the Scream- sayonara birthday, Mary's Blood- marionette, Dazzle Vision- Second, Fate gear- Headless Goddess. NEMOPHILA- DISSENSION, LOVEBITES- When Destinies Align, and pretty much any song by BAND-MAID.
Japan is huge on all female Metal every one of those groups above (Except Dazzle Vision who only has a female vocalist) is an all female band.

Cited as the first group to follow in the style of the ground breaking Kawaii Metal group Babymetal, Ladybaby Exploded onto the scene in 2015 with this video and garnered over 1 million views across all platforms in less than 24hrs!!
After producing several songs and videos, in 2016 Ladybeard was fired from the group after a disagreement with the owner of the company that was producing the group. Rei and Rie continued on for another year as "The Idol Formerly Known as Ladybaby" before Rei left the group to rejoin her sister in their group, Bratz.
Rie reformed the group in 2018 with 3 new members and this iteration of the group was arguably the most successful with several charting singles and a much wider touring schedule. This third start was also my favorite, (nothing against Ladybeard) but I really enjoyed the addition of Emily as the growler!!
Ladybaby officially suspended activities after their final concert on January 13, 2020.
In 2022 it was announced that Ladybaby would reform, but what actually happened was Rei and Rie came back together to make the new group ReiRie. Unfortunately after releasing their debut song in March (a very pop oriented song) but not much else has been heard from them.
Ladybeard went on to create several other groups, including 'Dead Lift Lolita' with their popular song "Pump Up Japan" and his current group, 'Babybeard', that follows very closely to the original Ladybaby formula with Ladybeard at the center and 2 cute Idol girls in dresses on either side.
Rei and Rie have their new project ReiRie and Emily from the last Ladybaby lineup joined 'Passcode' as their new growler after Yuna left the group.
They were a fun group to watch for almost 7 years before they disbanded and I miss checking in to see what they would do next!!
Also check out these other Ladybaby songs:
    "Age-Age-Money" - with Ladybeard
    ruclips.net/video/3zWwd8n2JVI/видео.html
"Biri Biri Money" -new Ladybaby but brought back Ladybeard as a guest feature
    ruclips.net/video/OiF-GILQsU0/видео.html
"Starless Sky" - First song by the new Ladybaby
    ruclips.net/video/7_F1x0cKoVE/видео.html
    "Riot Anthem" - Awesome song!
    ruclips.net/video/mMWwyRSsL5E/видео.html
"禊island" - Misogi Island - Their Last Song and one of their Heaviest
    ruclips.net/video/9skz0syLM7g/видео.html
There are many others but this is just a short list of some of my favorites!!
    Thanks for checking out Ladybaby!!
(p.s. Ladybaby does not get a lot of views..mostly because when the haters could not get the "Gimmick" label to stick to Babymetal, they went all in on Ladybaby..so, yeah.)

Your comments were lost, but I got your notification: 'Richard did an interview about 2 years ago and did say that he was Fired from Ladybaby as he had "creative differences" with the owner'. I'll just say he said in a podcast a year later: "unceremoniously removed". This doesn't _just_ sound like creative differences. And the other common one you hear is: "visa issue". If we hear multiple reasons this suggests maybe he just doesn't want to talk about it.
