"He was expecting to be a major heel (villain), but inside of a month, he'd became their most popular wrestler on the circuit
Paul Hollywood from great British bake off did a show in Japan going around Japan looking at restaurants, he did a segment with this guy. He seems like a really nice guy just living his best life.
Second this, I've seen numerous interviews with the guy and he is everything you wouldn't expect him to be, cool, down to earth and seems to be completely comfortable with what he does.
Ladybaby are legendary! Their later "more serious musically" incarnations without Ladybeard are really good, worth checking out! If you do any kind of Easter special you should react to "The Idol Formerly Known as LADYBABY" with their 'Easter Bunny' song... The song worth checking out as 'serious artists' in their later career back as just Ladybaby is Misogi Island - great track with wonderful (female!) growls :)
Man I love Ladybeard, such a likeable guy. Also I would not have the balls to wear a dress like that in public so HUGE PROPS. They did a gig in germany and arrived in "Normal clothes" at the airport and dude was ROCKING the finest suit. Man can wear everything.
At one time Richard Magrey had Lady Baby, a wrestling career and a modeling gig for the clothes you see him in all in Japan and he speaks Japanese fluently.
I am not sure if you like this one or not. Ladybaby went through a couple iterations before they went on hiatus. The last and possibly best version Ladybeard was gone. One of the OG girls, Rie , was left and added were three other young women and a full on metal band called "The Chaos". I think the song "Haten Ni Raimei" has it all and is produced very well. So like Fate Gear, here is Ladybaby's chance to redeem themselves.
Beyond the outfits, I think the most amazing part was the big dude was doing the dance moves. I think he was also growling in japanese? I'm not big on japanese metal, but I"ll give them props for the WTF video lol
Rei Kuromiya (the one wearing the red skirt) is also a member of the rock band BRATS, with her sister Aya. They're worth a look, although I can't say I enjoy them as much as something like BAND-MAID. (They're also a lot younger than BAND-MAID, so maybe they'll get better as they mature as musicians.)

Magrey left about 4 years ago (it had never been his intention to reach a career high dressed as a little girl) to form another band, leaving Rie Kineko and Rie Kuromya as a cute duo called The Idol Formerly Known as Lady Baby. In 2018 Kuromya left and Kineko was joined by three other girls to form the reinvented Idolcore band Ladybaby. The Idolcore bubble burst (really leaving only Passcode, and possibly Desu Rabbits, as the only popular example) and Ladybaby dissolved just before the Pandemic. Idolcore (as opposed to altIdol like BiSH or Atarashii Gakko) is characterised by a young girl group - one of whose members does screamo or growls, and who are backed by a heavy music band

I have been trying to catch up on reactions to some of my fav Japanese metal bands and checked to see who does what. It's surprises me a lot of reactors do Ladybaby's early stuff but IMO their later stuff when they became a 4 girl band is there best stuff. Check out anything from their last show Live at the Liquid Room They kick some serious ass Emily did the harsh vocals and is now in Passcode.
The real mystery here is where did they find those red shoes in his size? ;-p As for the location where this has been filmed, I guess you were thinking about Shibuya with that Times Square comparison? If yes, then no, this is taking place around the *Kaminarimon* ('thunder gate') which is shown at the beginning of the clip. The dancing scene at the river before the Tokyo Skytree and the Asahi Brewery Headquarters (the buildings that are supposed to look like a glass filled with beer, and the one with the golden doodle thing on top) is just a stone's throw from there. I've sat on one of the benches down there when I first visited Japan, so I know. Lol. The scenes at the market and inside the small shops could have been filmed nearby, too, but honestly they could have filmed that in any Japanese town with an open mall...

But they managed pretty poorly the attention the group received from this song, and ultimately the group had some changes and was disbanded last year. LadyBeard is in a group called Deadlift Lolita.
