With more layoffs happening, people in debt up to their eyeballs, and inflation continuing to rise, who the hell can take on a new set of monthly payments? A new car is a definite luxury purchase in this economy. Even if the interest rates were 2 to 3% the MSRPs are still too high.
The only reason they were selling 4/5/6 years ago was them low interest rates, only way people could get a loaded vehicle…now at 8-9% it isn’t worth it…
What's Ford and ram going to do with their 23 models when the 25 will come out in a few months? I believe there are 10's of thousands of them on lots. It's not going to seem right if they don't mark the 23's down considerably. We will soon find out though, that's for sure.
The check-engine light in my 2005 Tacoma hasn't been on in over a full calendar year. We're riding this out if I can get to that 90-day window for emissions check.
I reside in the Southwest, and on any given day, a person can observe dozens of older Tacomas, even the 90's models when they were considered compact trucks, on the road. Moreover, Ram HD trucks with the 5.9 Cummins 12V or 24V, are still prevalent, and good luck trying to purchase one in decent shape for under $10K. The following make/models that are virtually unseen in my area: Chevy/GM Colorado/Canyon 2nd generation, Ford Mavericks & Ranger T-6 platforms, Honda Ridgelines, Hyundai Santa Cruz's, and Nissan Titans & Frontiers.
You’ve got the handle on it, the car market is broken, they over inflated and are unwilling or unable to correctly address the issues by lowering the prices.
Thanks so much. Yes lots of smoke and mirrors and price cut this and incentive that, but these greasy OEMs keep pounding out the back of the common Joe just looking to get by and enjoy his days with his family and a beer with his buddies on Saturday night and an affordable place to live and an affordable vehicle to get to work and play.
Here in the US there are people getting by, some working a couple jobs to get by the salaries they make working and cannot afford a new vehicle, then there are some sponging off the tax payers that drive new cars, have their groceries paid for, new phones etc and complain that it's not enough. It's very sad to see this on a daily basis.
I never thought I'd look to the failing BLOATED over-priced and ugly auto and real estate industries as a source for comedy but it's hilarious. Thank-goodness I'm not a player in either one and can just sit back and watch the show implode.
Toyota seems to be limiting their inventory intentionally and thats artificially holding prices high so it may not matter much other than wait for new models to get last of outgoing models such as in the fall.
currently saving up for a down payment hopefully next year I'll find a decent deal on a used GR corolla. Until then my 06 g35 coupe is running great even at 170k miles
I’m not sure why people are allowing to be brain washed and keep buying them super overpriced vehicles. If people took a stand and held their grounds, manufacturers would have to come down.
if people just sit on what money they have long enough.prices will come down.we may need to watch alot of dealers go bankrupt.but that WONT hurt ANYBODYS feelings to see thieves go broke.
Nice incentives to buy a car? Great deals? What have you been smoking because I’m gonna tell you what there is no way I’m gonna let somebody gouge me. These companies are gouging. I think the majority of us are just gonna hang onto what we got and fix it and tell them go stick it where the sun don’t shine.
Refusal to buy is always the consumers' strongest weapon.

Just checked on a F 150 yesterday. Bullshit add ons were 10k! 2023 and 2024 models…🙄 salesperson didn’t even bother to talk to me!!!
Truly a scam. People seriously need to boycott for a while. Drive whatcha got, fix your own and look for alternatives

But car dealers aren't getting this message?
Apparently they are financially ok with the status quo.
Just about every single person in my area is driving a new truck and car, of course to live in it too
Could be leasing 🤷♂️
Not around here
Here watching Mark 👍

There isn't any good deals right now... if you jack up the price by 50% and then offer 6 to 10% off its still way over priced

Haha I know right and it’s quite a show
25 thousand off 100 grand truck is still rip off
Nice
Are dodge rams worth buying? Do you recommend any 1/2 ton ram?
Do you recomnend waiting till late summer oe early fallvto purchase 24 Toyota Rav4 or will it not matter with Toyota low inventory?

I refuse to buy a new car. At the end of my BMW lease I’m getting a junker just to get around and wait for everything to settle down.
Thats where I am right now too

Just to correct you, nobody is buying the tundra. Those who do regret it. I’m sure they have more recalls than even the recall king the Ford f150.
Corporate greed....
Yes for sure m. Make it easier on the buyer and they will come
Don't buy until the dealers are more desperate.
Yes
Still too high ~~~~!
Not buying
Yes it’s a bit high yet
Haha....amazing deals for a bunch of awful cars is not an awesome buy...
Tell me about it

The big problem is the Obama, Biden's administration. Hopefully Trump can surround himself with a better group this time.
