American car companies love nothing more than to gouge people with their MSRP's and then let their dealerships gouge them even more. They're getting EXACTLY what they deserve.

They like to gouge because they know the tax codes allow them to gouge tax write-off buyers. They can manufacture and sell less inventory at a higher profit margin, yet still make the same or more $$$$ in the end. Whilst the tax payers who aren't entitled to tax write-offs (non-business owners) are paying more for a truck now days and making less $$$$, because of inflation and higher taxes due to inflation.

My question is this: when the subject came up at Ford, GM, and Ram "what will be the sticker price on this", and the answer was "over $60,000", how come nobody with power said "well, we won't be able to sell them because almost no American can afford a truck that expensive"? Did people with power in these companies just say "oh well, if it's gotta be $60,000 and up, I guess people will just have to pay that price"?

So, as we see U.S. vehicle manufacturers trying to survive on ridiculously priced behemoth trucks and SUVs this is essentially their last gasp before they permanently throw in the towel. Frankly, I am tired of hearing about their woes and hope they just end it sooner than later. Honestly, we are already a third of the way there as the former Chrylser Corp. has been absorbed by Stallantis (sic) which boasts the likes of shoddy makes like Fiat in their realm.

Yuh. I dont think people want a byd. I think they want a pay raise to fix the labor market. Then they can afford a domestic truck. More Chinese junk doesnt fix the problem. We have plenty of cheap chinese electronic crap that didn't fix the problem. The grocery bill is still $300 a week. Electric bill. Taxes. They need a raise. Not china imports

NOPE I will never not buy a Chinees vehicle. I got a 2023 Nissan Fronter (38K) made in the USA that gets 530 per tank and no batteries. 25 mpg. sometimes 28mpg.

Let’s stop pretending that people want cheap small trucks. As soon as they start sending them out, they’ll collect on the lots too. People want cheap prices but they want big 4 door trucks, not toys. People want 30k f150s and they’ll still complain about quality. Everything has pretty well doubled in price in past 4 years. Why would cars stay the same or get cheaper whether people have money or not. The more unaffordable life becomes, the more profit that people will try to make. It’s called inflation

I have a contractor I have a dodge power waggon that is very very hard on fuel if I have to get a staff member to run to Home Depot they don’t have to drive some that gets 9 mph. I need a small truck like an 80s Toyota four-wheel-drive truck that size like it’s good gas mileage as most the time you’re not . 10, thousand pounds or caring 2000 pounds and weight, there is a huge market for small trucks that are for utility. Why do you think the old Toyota trucks are worth so much money but small cheap trucks that are durable companies wake up
