Your timing with these videos is so perfect with my life right now. Last week I was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection that was confirmed yesterday to be the result of an STI. I'm 25 and have never had an STI before but everything you've said regarding the stigmas associated with them have proven to be true so far. I've already been on treatment for several days now but there is still this overwhelming sense of shame that is difficult to shake. The thought of talking about it is almost sickening. Although my case isn't particularly stunning, it is still needless to say that this experience has significantly altered my perception of STIs and of those that have them. Thank you for being so open and honest about your condition. I'll be praying for your swift recovery. :)

Ultimately, Sky, you are learning that good people accept everyone regardless of sexual orientation, STI's, race, religion, even political parties! We are all one, we are all the same, we are each other. What I do to another, I do to myself. We all need to be good to ourselves so that we are good to others............thanks, dude..............Ray

I bumped into your videos by random. I am a straight, married , Mexican American living in Ireland and probably might have nothing in common with you, but you are truly inspiring. As a human being, you are teaching us to be brave. You show all of us that life is crazy, messy, shit happens, but that's just the way it is. Thank you. You are helping a lot of us not to feel so alone

Sky, I have been watching your videos on your life, love, and music for um-teen years. I have fallen in love with your upbeat personality. It was hard to watch someone, whom I consider a friend, though we have never met, go though some hard things like this. Believe it or not, this will get better. Will it be tough? Yes. But you are a veteran of TOUGH. Rather than feel the "why me" when it comes to this, look at the "wow me" aspects. You are still young, so handsome, you have a kick-ass body (yes, take it from a Gay man, you do!). Your personality is amazing. and your music is totally awesome. You have become a beacon of light for not only the Trans community, but for the countless fans who need that little dose of you in their lives. From that cute smirk to your thoughts on life, people love you so much. Please do see this. Yeah, you are going though a bad thing...but look at the support and the wonderful things you have, too. I, along with many of your fans are 200% behind you. I wanted to hug you no less than 5 times during this video. But I know you will come though this with flying colors. If you were into Gay men, I'd beg you for a date in a gay second! :) I, along with countless others, love you so much. Please write if you just need to vent. ~Dave~

It's pretty awesome that you are confident enough to share this. You talk about it in a way that really reduces the stigma around it. Probably the reason they haven't found much in the way of cures is that it's almost impossible to "cure" a virus (HIV, for example- how long has research for that been going on?) but it sucks that there doesn't seem to be much to ease your way. It's comforting to know that healthcare systems are getting more LGBT friendly! I hope you feel better ASAP, man.

i went through this exact same situation a few years ago, and had to go back to the doctor every week for more liquid nitrogren. I was so depressed and they just never seemed to be going away. I think i ended up having them for about 3 months but they DID eventually go away (but did leave some small scarring). I was seeing my family doctor about them, who has known me for my entire life, and was really feeling ashamed about it all- it's strangely comforting to watch you talk about it so confidently. thank you.

STI/STDs are always a downer. I have HSV type 1 and, at first, I was numb. The guy who gave it to me had cheated and spread it in its first outbreak. Two years later with a different failed relationship, I was a mess. If you find the right people, your confidence just boosts. Glad to hear you're being as optimistic as possible, you'll have hard and not so hard and easy days.
As long as am open and honest about everything and do constant research, I usually feel fine. My current partner, who I knew for a year before we started dating, knew in the first week of us being in a committed relationship. Crappy things happen... silver linings are everywhere though. I have learned those worth having in your life, take time to understand and stay with you!

You were a huge inspiration to me when I first came out as transgender, and I still keep up with your videos through my transition. I know it may feel like you are being defeated right now, but you will get through this. Most importantly, do not let this define you as a person. You are so much more than an STI and the right girl wont care that you have it - she will want to be with you for you (as it sounds this new girl is :) ). Your great personality and your bright smile are what makes you YOU, not this STI. Keep your head up, my friend!

As well as, no matter how long this may take to leave your body, we all love you, family, friends and that special girl you told us about will stay by your side through it all. I bet its hard to stay positive through this, but you don't have to go through it alone and in shame. Love you.

I am so sorry for this Sky. Being a Transguy myself, I really can see how you may feel. At first I was totally shocked that Skylar Kergil was talking about S-E-X because I've always known that subject was TABOO and never addressed even indirectly in your videos.
BUT, after watching the other video and this video, I suddenly realized that this was Skylar Kergil we were dealing with and your willingness to discuss this subject was in total keeping with your supreme sense of COMMUNITY. So cudos to you a hundred times over for publicizing your status. I feel bad about the STI but I'm heartened by your attitude towards it I'm further heartened by your admission that you do have a sex life, newly developed as it might be. You'll get over this and in the meantime I think you'll be surprised at the attitude of others toward the total person we know and love as Skylar Kergil, STI or not.

I've learned over the years to keep my perspective. A person is "young" for a very long time, like 40 years, truly. After that, you start slowly moving into middle age, but even then you are still young and healthy. At 50, you might start slowing down a tad, but actually if you've stayed active, you're still feeling young all through your 50's. The 60's? I'm not there yet, but people I know are so active and happy and healthy, in relationships, and everything. 70's? same thing. 80's: same thing. 90's: same thing is possible. My point is you shouldn't feel sad or depressed. You have your youth, your health, your vision, your good looks, the use of your arms and legs, and tons of support. What the hell - take a vacation, go explore the world, go walk around and see what's out there. You have been given a life, and your STI is a teeny tiny blip! Meh!

If it's not life threatening you'll develop the knows of how to deal with it. I had the same reaction, and here I am so many years later, and it's all ok now. I've learned I'm ok and I know how to take care of myself. To be honest it's a blessing. It forces me to be healthier than I would probably. So silver linings. Big hug. You're awesome. STi is my car so I honestly thought you meant you got an STi... So I was thinking- ok, great.. I'm an ftm trans too with an STi???...... But wow. I wish you the best of luck in this journey, now I have another reason to check up on you time to time throughout your very first t shot video. :) and thanks for educating me otherwise I'd be thinking you're talking about my car and be confused HAHA

I totally had these bumps when I was a lot younger and had no idea. My doctor just said it was bacteria. It took a few years to clear up but I never knew it was contagious or anything. Thanks for being so brave and open.

your life is not over, don't even say that! you have to be positive with this kind of things.. i know it hurts, but things get better and you should be very happy that this is going to "cure by itself"

Hey Skylar, I just wanna say you should never feel like just because you have an STI or even being transgender that it means that people will automatically stop loving you. We still love you and we always will no matter what. I love you and you're so adorable. I love watching you and your videos. Good luck getting cured and remember what I said! ☺️😍😘💕

I just subscribed to your channel,.. Although I don't currently have an STI,.. - I don't think I'd recognized you as anyone with a similar point of view of society as I myself have,.. Sometimes it's a crap-shoot to open-up about things,.. - But just like anything,.. "You'll never find it,.. unless you try to." :) - (Don't sweat the negatives,.. - always remember there are a few of us out here who do share your same values & we are watching & willing to help in any way as well.)
Your integrity,.. responsibility & concern are a lot more than most natural men have,.. I'd say your values resemble something of a John Wayne perspective & although glorified - It simply speaks the truth. - Best of Luck. :)
