I saw him recently on Austin City Limits, and of course, he was excellent, but I missed the repartee of him live with a small venue. His stories are wonderful.
Tejas has always been a great host for this Hoosier, from El Paso to Dallas and a dozen cities in between with some of the best live music any where in the world.
Ron ~ thanks for posting. I Was rock n'rolling, new mothering, and just discovering Lyle lovitt 1975 (you're not from Texas, but Texas loves you anyway!) ~ that opened a lot of doors for me.
Serious stuff. Praying that the Lone Star state can resist the invasion happening there now. If Texas falls , so does the nation. Big love from N.J. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I first heard this in a listenin' booth at Waterloo Records in Austin in April 2003. I think I got about 3 tracks into it, walked out & laid my money down. Best summer of music. I even shared it with friends in Vancouver, Canada. Spread the word, right? The album is GROWL. Delirium Tremoloes came out about 2 years later & ditto the above. RWH is a fine Texas songwriter & storyteller. ~Too bad the state's run by a doofus - doesn’t do anything for regular Texas folk, but he sure loves those big a$$ TX Oil & Gas donors! 💙#VoteBlue2024💙
He's entirely right about the state of country music today. what an excellent songwriter and storyteller.

When Pantera went World Wide, they had T-Shirts printed up that said "FUCK YOU WE'RE FROM TEXAS!"
The chord changes make his point. He picks one and he sits on it. If you don't like it, go find one of your own. I love this.
and Bob Wills is still the king
YEARS AGO...I WENT TO TEXAS AND NEVER CAME HOME!

Every Native Texan has a little screw you in them. Just the way we are.

@@finalvoyage35 Nashville would be my bet.
I grew up less than 200 miles from Nashville and modern country is crap!
The best things as far as music is concerned to ever come out of Nashville were Duane and Gregg Allman. Tell me I'm wrong!
the brothers are from Macon Ga.
@@bartman4556 they were born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in Daytona, Florida. They did live in Macon, Georgia after Brother Duane formed The Allman Brothers Band.
@@travissmith9451 I did not know that .I figured since Duane was buried there, that was home. Good on you mate.
@@bartman4556 ain't no thing Brother. Macon was home to The Brothers but none of the band members were born in Georgia. Take care.
Their music was the southern Muscle Shoals sound, not a Nashville sound. That didn't influence them even if born there...it's about the music.
Republic of Texas
Great stuff sorry good music is good, bad is bad. Don't matter where you are from!
Funny part is RWH is an Okie, born in Soper, ok.
Wendell Stafford that's a special part of Texas. Oklahoma I love you.
Maybe but he got to Texas as fast as he could.
Once and Okie, always an Okie, but he's pulling off being a Texan for a few minutes anyway..
Will Boyd We close enough to be. Brothers and sisters so it’s all good. Same principles, same way of life.

. . . And your point is. ?
My idea of country music is what they play XM radio on Outlaw Country station not The Nashville pop country artists.

Texas and California Country beat nashville every day
Billy Gibbons
Is that a chick playing the drums? Haven't heard this early version before.
Whoever put those words up there needs some practice
"country music stopped the day Johnny Cash stopped popping pills?" ... shame on Hubbard.
