A little tip. If you're filming the walk and talk with slow shutter of 180 degree rule the only thing that you're adding the cinematic motion blur to us the shakes. Dynamic active stabe won't help. It may look stable but you will have bunch of frames every step that are blurry all over.
@@BrianGJohnsonPhotography yes. 180 degree rule is somewhat important when filming subjects in move. You are static and the background is already blurred by the depth of field. If I'm lazy I film everything with faster shutter and add tiny bit of motion blur in post but only to shots that needed it.
I am getting into vlogging and thinking about if I should get the camera as everyone is talking about it. I already have an iPhone 14 Pro and a GoPro but both of them have their limits which bother me sometimes.
So for short wildlife/birds/insects clips with the 200-600 mm is this tripod and video head only or can you get away with handheld. I guess subject focussing is the biggest challenge.
Hey dude, love your videos. Thank you for commenting! Working on getting my color grading to your level. Kids in this video, yea. That’s my speciality, ‘weird’ …. good thing ‘weird’ is the new cool. Cheers pal, hope you’re enjoying the new camera !!
@@BrianGJohnsonPhotography Wow! Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. I'm just experimenting and having fun. Sometimes it works and other times....... not so much. You're right. The new generation of kids responds well to weird haha. Keep killing it man. I see good things for your channel.
Very shaky and jerky footage while walking and moving the camera. Also it looses focus. Bunny looks great. Better options out there. S5IIX FX30 cheaper alternatives.
Manfro pixie for sure. Small and light. Keeps the overall form factor and portability in mind. Or the Sony Bluetooth grip. Because that provides the extra functionality and buttons.
@@BrianGJohnsonPhotography Thanks so much for your candor. I was just thinking that one purchase might provide both the functionality of the vloging extension as well as the additional functionality of the DJI platform. Your video makes me eager to use the ZV-E1 I"ve recently purhased.. Will try in a jazz club tomorrow.
Most epic bunny shot in the history of the Sony ZV-E1... Or maybe just in history. Seriously though it's cool to see a talented wildlife videographer and photographer use the ZV-E1, which is counter to most people's expectations. Yet, the camera needs to be judged by the sensor and not the name. Also, in SLOG3, I recommend monitoring in camera with a LUT. It takes the guess work out of exposing, and obviously only shoot in either ISO 640 or 12800 and you'll be noise free!
Heya pal, bingo on the camera thoughts and expectations. I love video. Wildlife, vlogging … indoor shots, what ever. This camera can do much of that. Yes, in the future. Sony will release other cameras that do it better. The newer A1, A9 iii …. and who knows what else. But right now, when it comes to ‘video first’ … the ZV E1 has the best auto focus in the game. Not to mention the other cool specs. Cheers pal. P.S. Getting used to SLOG, am monitoring. Installed luts right before these clips today. My issue was my clips were not over exposed enough … these clips all cleaned up well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
SLOG3 is pretty much all I shoot. Just make sure u have gamma display assist turned on. Grey card is zebra 41, skin tones 50ish. If you have zebras visible at 94+, you’re clipping and cannot recover on post so best to keep highlights below that threshold if possible.
Hey, thank you much for sharing. I’ve been getting better results with S log over the last few days. Once in a while, I still find a challenging trying to hit that exposure of one. 7 to 2 stops over exposed. But generally speaking, it seems to be doing better for me. Voice dictated
I think the bunny steals the show. Really amazing.
thanks my friend, yes … the bunny steals the show for sure.
What part of the country is this? It seems very pretty and peaceful there.
This is a bit west of Denver right as the mountains push-up/the foothills
I'm considering the Sony ZV-E1 and your videos are very interesting :)
It's a great camera, not perfect ... but what camera is? The value is there ...

Thanks, what’s the tip? Increase the shutter ?? Been thinking about that if yes … cheers Tom.

Interesting, nicely done, everything. Showing the viewer while you Discover this camera, 😊

Sony is announcing another vlog camera in a few days. It’s gonna be a heck of a value.
I thought I was the only one who followed rabbits in my backyard with the ZVE1. I used an APSC lens Sony 70-350, and I was blown away.
awesome! Sure is a great camera!

no, focusing on birds with the 200 to 600 and the zv-e1 would be very challenging. I think you’d be better off with the A74.
I’ve never seen a bunny tongue before! Thanks for sharing. What lens did you use for the bunny shot?
why thank you friend! I used the Sony 200 to 600 G. Not cheap, but so good!
@@BrianGJohnsonPhotography awww I see. Price isn’t terrible but that’s a big chunk of lens for my shooting style. Thanks for the reply!
Good stuff man. That got weird with the kids at the beginning haha

What color mode did you shoot with? looks good
thank you, going to make a video about it I think. Slog3, phantom luts, neutral.

what vlogging handle-extention do you use for your ZV-E1? what would be the best you might suggest?

not aware of that option my friend.
